Ah Pek, using the valve cleaner now. on the first bottle. anyway do i use it every fuel top up or every certain mileage?

 

anyway, after my coil burnt and become unusable, i changed to new one, now the problem is no more the no power feeling (so i guess my pins still ok?), however, my idling is now at ~1.3k cold and ~1.6k hot. tried adjusting the idling but can't reach the knob. any tips to get my hands in there?

does changing coil affects the idling? checked with mech he said he didn't adjust anything with the carbs.

 

That 1 single bottle of 150ml can be use for two full tank of fuel. Yes..the coil is the one generating electrical load for the bike. Hot idling at 1.5k rpm is ok but most ppl prefer 1.3k..mime is at about 1.5k. To reach the knob...use a long screw flat head screw driver to push it..on ur left pushing in is "clockwise" (increase rpm)..so u should push it backward or rather left..u can hear idling dropping...do only when engine is HOT.

yes exactly. that is what i thought so too. all the valves are more or less the same, and has the same function inside a automotive. i'm thinking that the shop doesn't carry that specific product and that this product he was promoting is more or less the same as a valve cleaner.

 

in anyway, i will try it out. and see if it is any good. and i'll ask Liqui Moly distro, specifically where can i find the valve cleaner product.

 

Izammo, where did you get the valve cleaner from? and how much did you get it for?

 

on a sidenote, does accelerating hard all the way to redline, in a long straight line, clears the carbon? or it clears the carbon inside the exhaust? hahaha.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

If u have a 3 point crash ba installed..that could the cause. Anyway..check and tighten all ur ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS, handle bar clamps and from fork upper and lower clamp bolts. You may need a mech to help using air compress box spanner tools to loosen than tighten them all again.

 

No such thing as valve clearance servicing for S4...when the time comes..u need to change "shims"..go google it and read about it.

Wa then very sad case for u. But just in case, did u park illegally? Or maybe park in a manner tat may ve disturb other pple?

 

If none of e above then really bad luck. I feel for u. :( no rider would wan to see their bike fall for no reason. :(

 

As for shop check, how about finding a shop tat u trust wont carrot u?

hey guys! recently my bike was dropped by someone while i was parking it under my block. the problem doesnt come after my bike is warmed up and whenever i come to a stop at the traffic light. the RPM would become very unstable and quite often it would come to a stall unless i continue revving the bike. any idea what might be wrong so i dun get chopped so much when i visit the mechanic? im riding a ver S btw.

 

Bro, tt happened to me before too, went to workshop, mechanic said tt it might be the floating pins in ur carb not in position. Dismental and put back together den better.

Anyway, Anyone can suggest if i should change the coolant hose, coz my current 1 is old and full of "biscuit cracks" inside. Seems like samco is a popular brand around.

i think if no leak no crack can temp don need to change.. silicon hose 300plus.. and the mech advise me to also change the "sotong" as it cracks easily... cos need to strip the bike, he cannot confirm the sotong wont spoil after fixing back... then need to flush coolant too.. so if u change silicon, plus coolant standby 400 plus.. stock full sset of hose less than 200, check unique thread... i changed mine to okado

Ive used up the first tank with additives added. To be honest, there is minimal or little change that i can feel with my hand o meter and but o meter. So save up the money for a tank of petrol instead. Maybe the product ah pek introduced, valve cleaner is the better one as compared to this.

 

How's your problem along, izzamo? Did the valve cleaner help in your case?

the boss told me that this Valve Cleaner product belongs to car category, which i don't think so, as the mechanics of the inside are the same. and this product is a old product that liqui moly use to carry.

I had the some experience same as u. Before i send my bike to change air filter still ok, but after i change air filter when the mech fix back my bike with the 3pt bar to protect the engine, he knock the bar quite hard to fix back into the bike. Immediately when i start my bike it dies off, or i have to rev at the traffic light if not engine cuts off. I consult Ah Pek and also went around to check with bike shop, finally gave up, check my pin and also service my carb. Now no problem.

*My problem sound the same as yours but maybe different problem. DO let Ah pek check if u are free he can advise u better ~

New s4 ver s rider here, just wondering is clubman handlebar legal? N wat shud i do to my bike so that it can fight vtec.. I have change my exhaust to yoshi, k&n air filter, power abuse 2.. Any advise to share? I welcome any response..

How much the shop charge you for your coil?.. Mine also the shop say spoil, shop quote me $380 for new coil excluding labour.. second hand cost $120... Not satisfied, i went Planet motor to check, he say ver s seldom coil spoil, so he check n check saw a loose wiring... he change the wire and change my head buld as it consume more power.. recheck again and the the battery is recharging at 13+.. initially was only 12+ on the lower side when throttle up..

 

total change a new rectifier and do some wiring and new bulb, coost $95 only... upp for Planet la...
