hey guys. jus a question bout layup. if i layup min need 1 year? den if i gotten my license within that 1 year also cant ride? must wait the layup period finish first issit?

Quoted from ONE MOTORING:

"A period of 1 year (max) or shorter, as determined by the Registrar, may be granted for a lay up application.

A vehicle can only be laid up for 3 consecutive years. If the vehicle is not re-licensed by the third year, it will be de-registered automatically at the end of the third year. Once a vehicle is de-registered, it will not be allowed to be re-registered or re-licensed. The vehicle owner will have to show documentary evidence of disposal within 1-month of de-registration of the vehicle."

basically you have a maximum of 1 year to lay up the vehicle, if you should decide to unlay your bike (re licensing) , then all you have to do is send for inspection pay road tax, and buy insurance.

@Wonderless....what prac are you at right now?

so troublesome and more costs to layup a bike. why not just get your 2B over and done with as soon as you can.

im at prac 6 waiting for RTT on 28 oct. eh i tot also don incur much costs. transfer fees and season parking with layup fees of $5. am i correct? im taking over fren's bike.. he's ugprading so i jus buy the bike first lor. haha

at least youre helping your friend to get another bike, and yes layup is 5 dollars and you still have to pay for transfer of ownership too

My RTT on 27 Nov... Anyone also on this date?

Finally I can go circuit revision, need to work on Figure 8.

Fig8 is abt confidence, just keep ur eyeline up and look far and dont close ur throttle, throttle and footbrake.

i failed my pract5 this morn cause my ebrake the wheel abit infront of the redline. sian. everything else was fine but the only thing i got innocently blamed was the joker number infront of me caused 1 whole line of cogestion and i got blamed for it unknowingly till i was walking to bus stop.

i'm sure you have the intention to use the bike while it's being laid up. :cheeky:

just be careful. we sometimes overestimate ourselves.

first, u say "nehmind jz ride in carpark, no harm"

then u say ... " aiya, juz a shorrrrt ride out .. juz a short one .. wont get caught one laa"

that short ride out may be unlucky for you. accidents happen anywhere, even in carpark.

and uncle sammie, u neva know where and when they're hiding ...

unless u got the discipline to not sit on the bike and bring it out of the lot it's supposed to be in ... if i'm not wrong republic motor can lay up there. i think lah...

u get your bike on lay up already tell me...

maybe i go there project your bike.. HEHEHEHE

go and LOCK YOUR WHEEL AND HANDLEBAR WITH LOTS N LOTS OF CHAINS .. (evil laugh!) hehehe

no leh. sorry, i don understand how you feel.

i missed out quite a few dam dam dam dam nice bikes when i was in the last few lessons in cdc too. but never ever thought of buying one to layup. i believe if it's not meant to be yours, it's not meant to be, when the time is right, the right one will turn up.

knux is right, accidents can happen even in carpark. hear it from a more experienced rider.

sometimes even when your bike is parked stationary, someone can come from nowhere to bang you into pieces.

ride ride in carpark only?? hahaha. you sure?

hope you remain safe lah.

main thing is - don put others' lives at risk too. :goodluck:

maybe just push it around ur vicinity? instead of riding. lol anyway at the end of the day we can only advise, its entirely up to you should you want to ride it. but know the consequences..

its a disc lock. i have it too. with alarm i got it for 40+ but i think w/o alarm ( around $20 ) is fine. i took out my batt aft 1 hr bc it is so sensitive that it beeps and screams when there is vibration and when it rains... sian...

totally agree. and i think riding ard in the carpark is really unsafe, unless ur carpark is really empty, bc the one and only time i had a near accident was when i was coming out of my carpark bc cars come out fr everywhere and reverse as and when they like it, horn also no use.

must be steady + all the safety checks are impt. the rest jus practise lo? don't kena any immediate failure such as drop from plank, knock down 1 cone from slalom and ebrake before the red line. other than that should be fine and signalling. slope come down no need inch out.

all the basics, if u can do it properly should be pass! :) i got a lousy bike today and it kept jerking and i was desperate to pass as i just failed yesterday and felt quite sian because i was confident yet i didn't pass. today was good very happy even though i was quite tired prior to that.
