I recommend all my friends to go for the $100 FF at Motoworld because no matter what size of bike these days there can be never enough protection. You just need to read some of (example) @ahcaibiker 's posts to see the logic that even low speed cruiser riders benefit from investment in personal protective gear. :3

wah.got $100 ff ah ?

Rjays are not known to have invested heavily in RnD for their helmets...

Their spectrum of riding gear is so big, from jacket, one piece track suit, pants to riding boots and to helmet.

look at Shoei, Arai, AGV, HJC...

they are into pure strictly just helmets. all the money invested in RnD, manufacturing, quality control and sponsorships for professional riders.

we don see that happening for Rjays.

it's just my own guideline for myself, i only invest in helmet brands that are represented and used by professional riders at the highest competitive level.

sure, others might have their own opinions.

just my 2cents and humble sharing.

i can agree with the comparison with well-known brands, but with the exception of hjc, i think where 'affordable' helmets are concerned, the dot and snell badges would be sufficient benchmarks when looking for a helmet on a budget. i therefore believe that if one's budget is $100++, picking up a dot/snell model mhr for example, is still a sound decision to make.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

they still had the promo a week ago when i was there, and they're running the ad here in the forum. u might see it on one of the banners on the left. any old helmet will do for the trade-in.

yes its a quality FF for only $100. when i say 'quality', i mean in reference to its price. its well worth it even if u buy at $150 without trade-in. but anyone with a wallet thats ready to buy shoei/x-lite/arai need not bother coz it is not better than the higher end brands.

i was at serangoon branch a week ago and i remember trying on an M size.

but if indeed running out of stock, and as i understand it the FG-15 is also 'clearing stock', then back to my original thread topic: where have the affordable full face helmets gone?

i realli realli hope that the fg-15 is being cleared coz motoworld has insider knowledge that an updated model is coming in from hjc.

I believe you mean lavender, i went to kaki bukit, never went to the lavender branch before...

FG-15 still has a large number of stocks at kaki bukit.

FG-15 Ben Spies replica aka elbowz 2.

imo, there is alot of variety of stuff and stocks over at the main showroom at kaki bukit compared to lavender.

Hope lavendar branch still have more M/L size... anynoe wat designs are left?

yes any helmet will do. its just a sales gimmick i think.

at lavender i saw 'scoop', 'throttle' and 'venecia'; the same 3 graphics i posted earlier, and i remember trying on an 'm' size.

As for fg-15, lavender only had prism and etau, and etau only had size m and larger. bout 3 weeks ago i was at kaki bukit and indeed for fg-15 kaki bukit looked to have more choices.

so mebbe kaki bukit better for fg-15 and lavender better for cl-st, but calling them would be best i guess.

lavender also had ben spies 'elbowz', but.... the price of the ben spies is ridiculous. i wasn willing to pay so much more just for that design when i could get the same model helmet with 'normal' graphics for significantly cheaper. and the hjc website doesn list the 'elbowz' design as more expensive......

in any case congrats to bikers who have decided to convert from open face to full face because of how cheaply the cl-st retails. i have never looked at open face ever since i put on my first full face. and btw remember to ask the price of the fg-15 and try it on before confirming ur cl-st purchase; coz u might just decide the fg-15 worth that little bit more :thumb:

btw, i wanna ask purely for intellectual discussion:

considering that the cl-st is not snell certified, given a choice wld u rather wear the cl-st over a similarly priced snell-certified mhr full face? its the issue of branded non-snell vs unbranded snell.

just curious. i know the fg-15 makes this discussion somewhat moot coz it represents a branded yet affordable snell-certified helmet. which is precisely why its on my head.

surprisingly..there are much more riders wearing ff in cambodia & laos while compare to sg..just saw a red 1098 with half face..guess sg air too clean to force everybody invest in ff

How much it cost for a HJC FG-15, normal design?

the advertised retail price is $250 but supposedly they're 'clearing stock' so u might get slightly cheaper but that one u'll have to go there and get a proper quote urself.

if im on a tight budget and my only choice is between the cl-st and the mhr, i will choose the cl-st over the mhr anytime.

Im currently wearing the fg-15 and im pretty satisfied with the price i paid.

Recently ordered HJC R-PHA 10 Ben Spies replica, waiting for stock to arrive. cant wait to wear it!

when im more financially able, i might try on top of the range arai and shoei.

hey guys, if u see a rider on kup kia (with a box) wearing a FF, what would u guys think?

i would think he is more cool than those fellas on class 2 bikes but with those piss-pot type or free helmet (the kind you get for free when you buy the bike) on the head

my sis just bought a fg15 ben spies. evidently you get a very cute mini fibreglass novelty helmet (its a coin box) as a free gift. it's adorable!

i made her give it to me :p

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

I think he is smart, because if new FF helmet use hellmet lock to lock besides the seat, sure kena stolen, that's why he got a box, he probably got a raincoat in there too, so good for him.

totally agree with you sis, got $$$ to buy big bike and expensive accessories and mods, no money to buy decent riding gear just does not click....

i rather ride 2b bike with decent protective gear than 2 bike with kuchin kurap t-shirt, shorts and slippers...
