Hi guys, a friend of mine has informed me that the current 2b license has been upped to 250 cc. She went down with the dad and was informed about this. Can anyone else confirm this? Ty.

I don't think so. Check this out.

Yes, last time 2B licence 16 year old can get liao.

And 1 licence can ride any cc bike.

Now changed already, you suggest them to change back, very difficult.

i think a revision is due.

2b= up to 250cc.

2a= up to 600cc

2b= anything under the sky.

but still from experience, imagine if a new rider got his hands on a 250cc 2 stroker and loves to speed. not good.

a member suggested using HP to categorise which i agree is a good idea.

but we can talk and talk and the 1st class general warlord of our country will not likely do anything. so we can just LLST.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

i feel age restriction should play a part in the revision. Getting a young and hot blooded to drive or ride a high performance vehicles surely invite troubles. They get angry easily and they used the high powered vehicles as a tool to release their anger

I think it's really not so good for a rider with 2a license to get his hands on a 600cc straightaway.

I'm an owner of a FZ6 and I can tell you that the 600cc is definitely more powerful than the 400cc by quite a bit. Think of it this way... 50+ hp versus 90+ hp... Still think that it's just a little more powerful?

imagine if we applied this to class 3 driving also:

1st year : drive up to 1000cc car

2nd year : drive up to 1600 cc car

3rd year and after: any cc.

would sound funny if we could only buy Chery QQ after we passed....lol

on the road should be alot "small car" :clap:

A very good suggestion as it will make drivers understand the danger pose to riders if they(drivers) drive recklessly. but i dont think its possible. what about those who cant balance?

because I do have a friend who is a good and safe driver but cant cycle (taking the metaphor that he cant ride too).

i strongly feel that the current trend of bike production has made our Class 2A license obsolete.

Probably should lower the selling price of Class 2A bike.

Probably to increase the capacity of Class 2A from 200-400 to 200-750cc, and lower the selling price of 400cc as well.

i was thinking for 2B they have to go through all kind of roads before they were able to sit for TP test..

2B Licence under 2 years 200cc below,More than 2 years than up to 250cc.

2A under 2 years from 251cc-500cc,More than 2 years up to 600cc

2 unlimited

For Class 3A/3 under 2 years car up to 1600cc,More than 2 years unlimited,Good proposal eh?

The following is my suggestion, mainly with changes made to the lower classes of motorcycling license.

- Class 2B-Converted (Foreign license conversion): Up to 150cc

With all due respect, the scrutineering level of riding courses & exams offered by other countries are still not up to the level of Singapore's. Furthermore, most of the converted license holders are not familiar with Singapore road system. By limiting the cc lower, this class of holders would be encouraged to try & engage themselves in familiarising the road system of Singapore, rather than trying to overtake other road users via speeding. After a probation of 1 year, these riders would be allowed the freedom of any typical Class 2B, as mentioned thereafter.

- Class 2B (License fully obtained in Singapore): Up to 250cc for 4 strokes / Up to 200cc for 2 strokes

It is of my personal opinion that 2-strokes engines should be gradually phased out in Singapore for environmental reasons. And the only way to entice riders to purchase 4-stroke is by increasing the cc limit. This is also partly to offset & compensate the horsepower handicap offered by 4-strokes engines.

- Class 2A: Up to 500cc

- Class 2: All capacities

I agree with you, bro. I have always felt that 2-stroke bikes were environmentally harmful. Even more so when people don't service their bikes regularly. The smell is just, awful. And, the noise...
