No running no Hiding.. The wet wet Period of SINGAPURA is upon us.... It will be raining especially heavily when we go to work/school and when we come back from work/school..

Got your Raincoat?

Top up your Mrt card?

Put aside some $$$ for taxi??

So Do you ride in the Rain? And how do you keep yourself dry.. Rain coat is defiantly not 100%.. It will be leaking thru your neck and down to your Underwear.....

Ride safe... And no Racer boy attitude on turns when it comes to the Thick White/yellow lines on Corners....

Take note on... Pedestrian crossing(Zebra crossing) and fly overs where they have those THICK WHITE SPEED STRIPS. Caution Please fellow Riders...

A good RAIN COAT can be purchased at below $80...

Some time ago in a newspaper article, a doc was quoted as generally during the rainy seasons, the A&E see twice the number of motorcycle accident casualties.

Makes sense, doesn't it?

When it rains, there's less traction and that blind joker cut in your lane, you grabbed the brakes and whether you skid or not is not even a probability. What happens afterwards is the main issue.

Also, we have very strange and silly features on our roads:

1. 5-10 metres of red bricks denoting school zone. Ok on dry days, killer on rainy days.

2. Large Give-Way-To-Buses yellow boxes. Again, potential killer on wet days.

3. Metal manhole covers in the middle of a bend/ corner. I bet the road planner drives, not ride.

4. Carparks with spiral exit/ entry that leads to the various levels. Ok for cars, but nightmare for bikes when the traction is low when it is red.

When rain, ride slow.

Car drivers can't see sh*t in broad daylight, let alone during downpour.

Rode for years and had the chance to try different bikes (mostly cheap and sh*t), but that rainy day when the lorry swerved into my lane, all that experience is irrelevant and went out of the window. Brakes were grabbed like no tomorrow. Might not be here if not for ABS.

Ride safe and when rain, ride safer.

Dont bother to ride if you got no raincoat. When you are cold, shivering and can't see sh*t in the pisspot you call a helmet, you should not be out there in the first place.

Go slow and make it home. Only got 1 life.

Slap on anti fog and rainx for full face. Helps get the water off the visor. My goretex raincoat with the hood folded in forms a neck brace which wedges itself and seals the opening between my full face and my neck, hence no leakage. I use Rs Taichi shoe covers. Pretty effective

i recently bought a set of raincoat from them.. $60 bucks.. It has ugly imprints on them. "AGV - Legendary Helmets" on the back. :|

Used it a few time while riding in heavy rain that my vision of the road is only 3-4 car lengths..

Perfectly dry less the slipper area... :S

i use rain pants made more for outdoor use from Columbia. meant for activities like trekking. Had them for a year, no leaks, breathes well. still going strong. got them online for about $50-60

Not so much about getting abit wet as it is being seen on the road. So i switch on my hi beams when riding in heavy rain. You would think with the high beams, loud exhaust and proper gear cars will take notice...but nooo, they're still oblivious to their surroundings.

Lane splitting is also a bad idea in heavyrain but sometimes no choice.

isnt it better to lanesplit at a slow enuff speed? if u r in the middle of lane, higher risk of banging the car in front when it brakes especially on slow moving traffic cos there will vehicles who cut it if u leave the required distance between urself & the vehicle in front..
