Vespa GT 200 ....fall in !!! ;)

Hi Guys, I just visited the 2nd hand bike shop. Saw 2 different Vespas for sale. Need your feedback please.

 

1. Vespa PX - $3.5k

AV Plate

Looks okay

Needs a fresh coat of paint

COE left 2yrs

Previous owner is a Navy Regular

 

2. Vespa Excel - $1.5k

Looks old fashion, needs a restoration (was quoted $1-2k to restore it)

COE left 7yrs

previous owner is an Uncle

 

Please kindly give your feedbacks.. This is going to be my first bike.

Don't restore it... just get it in ride-able condition... Sell on later...

 

3.5k is a bit much for a px with only 2 years left on the coe!

PX150... what you spend extra on petrol, you'll get back with the much lower maintenance costs. The PX is practically bomb proof.

Yup... just ride it... The idea is to keep it for a while until you're used to the shifting... not dropping it... etc etc... In the meantime keep your eyes open for a nicer looking scoot. Try and nego the price down given that the scoot needs work.

Thx bro.. but as I'm going to ride it to work.. Doesnt really suit my office attire if I dont restore it eh... What type of pricing should I nego till? The aunty says their just helping the seller to sell and the price is the owners asking price..

I would go for the Italian PX but at a reduced price ... or u wait out for a better deal.

I left my contact no with the aunty already, so the shop will contact me when they have new bikes to view. Btw, how much is a good deal for the PX bikes? Say if COE left 2-3yrs.. Many thanks in advance.

Depends a lot on condition... with 2 or 3 years on the coe... anywhere from 1k, to 2.5k

What's a PX? I'm also looking for a vespa but prefer A plate. Condition doesn't matter. Where can I find 1? How much would be consider not over price?

piaggio brand makes 7 brands of motorcycles and scooters. vespa is one of them.

Hi ben. I believe a goggle would save alot of trouble. Basically Piaggio makes vespas. PX is 2 stroke old school vespas runing on a cross gear(internal).

Lx is a 4 stroke modern vespa running on belt.

AiDeHua http://adh.com.sg is the distributor but they do not do finance. If required, I would suggest you try bike shop if they are willing to "bring in" from ADH for you.

 

If I rememeber correctly, it's 6-7k exclude coe.

 

 

Was hunting a month back. Travelled many place but limited. In the end settled for a vintage and it's in rebuild now. It's for my wife

I'm open until 10pm. And we specialize mostly on maxi scooters, modern vespa and especially 4 stroke single cylinders
