Are those Ohlins you have on the rear? Did you chrome them? Must be a smooth ride. Am waiting on my new shocks to arrive, but trying a different brand.

dun think those r ohlins... was told they r the stock shocks from the old sports model sporty... and they r quite comfy :thumb:

Try this hard ware store located at Shun Li Industrial Park....

I get all my stainless screws all there & pricing is dirt cheap....

Just get a sample of the screw or the size & tell them the quanity U need...

They stockpile tons of diff variety of screws, bolts, nuts, washers etc.....

Joo Metal Pte Ltd

No 73, Kaki Bukit Ave 1, Shun Li Industrial Park, S(417949)

Tel: 67428278

By any chance U can't find....

either ask the security guard there or

the mechanic I frequent, Ah Boon (Republic Motor)

they will guide u to the place...

Cheers!!!

Those are Sportster S original rear shock if I'm not wrong....

able to do preload, dampering & rebound & not forgetting able to rebuilt like Ohlins Shocks.

try to install on my ride but it make the whole bike too "straight" something like XR1200 style ... still prefer the low style...lol

Oh okie, tks! will try this hardware store :cheeky:

yup, was told that those r stock sports model shocks, and they makes the ride tall... but i can't lower my ride as i'm already scrapping the foot pegs with this height... :sian:

i'm currently on K&N replacement for stock filter but is considering changing to one of the following, they look really cool!

but is wondering how is the flow? is it more free flow than K&N?

and any problem when comes to heavy downpour?

any bro on these who can advise? Tks! :cheeky:

I think the K&N are the best free flow filters. If you go with the open face, then need some sort of rain sock. Not sure how the butterfly ones work, maybe can lock it out.

Ya, the corsair filter does have the rain sock thing.. But dunno how effective leh...

The hypercharger butterfly works on the vacuum, the more u throttle, the more it opens... Guess when raining can't throttle at all? If not water will go in... :faint:

i had used corsair filter on my ex-rdking.

the rain sock proven not very effective.

rainy days, the sock get wet too... den u will have a bit choking effect.

There is another problem w corsair, the nuts mounted to the bracket tends to get loose easily. N in order to tighten it, u need to take out the whole filter. Rather troublesome...

However, the air intake for this corsair, as compared to normal Hypercharger, is better. Not too sure as compared to hypercharger Pro R

Corsair in term of cosmetic and air intake is rather good. But u need to take note that its reali big n long.

tks bro fengdrew for giving the user point of view... gd info! :thumb:

even my k&n gets a bit wet during heavy downpour as the water can still enter from behind the cover where it is exposed...

given s'pore weather, guess must really think properly b4 getting these open filters... unless one dun ride in the rain at all... :sian:

I had a hypercharger on my Sporty. I think parking in the rain will be a problem (so I never did that)

Riding in the rain never gave me problems (did this many times). Think the hypercharger was hot enough to evaporate the water before it can get wet enough to cause problems.

Its a wedding convoy thats being filmed by the Travel Channel with Ian Wright. They then take him to some of the sites in SG. Invited all HOG members, but I had a meeting in the AM so couldnt ride.

Gosh...Ian wright is on the bike too!!!damn...Anw,it's an awesome sight..endless rows

My new Shocks are finally being shipped and will hopefully be on my bike by next weekend!

If anyone wants my Progressive 11 inch 412 HD, will let them go cheap cheap. But be warned, they are harsh. So any bumps may throw you off your bike. Anyone under 70kg should not use. Should not be ridden on any road not the surface of a pool table - beware of section of NS between Pagoh and Malacca. Must push over speed bumps, especially ones through Tuas as its the lowest shock you can go with. Dont take turns quickly as may drag pegs. Ok, if that scared most of you away, I did use it for 10k and its actually a decent set given the above limitations. Just have to be careful. Fits my 2007 FXDC.

Actually, it can be challenging to ride in staggered formation. Everyone knows how to ride, but if you have not ridden in a convoy, take one of the dealer new rider classes that help in convoy riding. More than a few are switching lanes, going to fast then braking hard, etc. Can be dangerous when in a large group. Especially if doing one of the long rides in Malaysia.

that a nice concept to sit and have a beer while your bikes get washed, they have this on even on weekdays?

i think we have to gather there one of these days..:D

Yes, can't be better. $40 wash/polish seems reasonable enuf. I went there for the first time a few saturdays ago and the militia rider group was celebrating their 11th anniversary. That event added to the liveliness of the place that night. It's a cool place, a bike orientated joint, looks like a garage and is quite cosy. One of the staff told me that the bike wash facility is only available on the weekends and they open from 3pm onwards. We should really check it out sometime. Fantastic range of beers.

Hi guys, anyone interested in doing a trip up to Cameron Highland end June?

Hi Steven, i'm game actually...i think. Never rode past the causeway before. I see you're in Bedok. We should get together for coffee or beer one of this weekends (this weekend got childcare duty, wife overseas) around the area or maybe even handlebar and talk about it (all ppl here invited of course). :thumb:Let me know 97946054 What bike are you riding btw? I'm on a sportster.

oook....

I been pondering on which filter to get also...

My own point of view after many research.....

performance wise get the V charger from Vtwin Manufactuirng...

it the same like the kuryakyn (with then flaps able to turn) but no flaps

see link for more info (cheapest i find in ebay)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330413292752&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I don't really like the design as my ride will be of a retro theme...

+ the flaps thingy do no good on rainy days & nt forgetting the small debris u pick up on the road...

For the power cone...

the "waterproof" sock is USELESS!!!!

waterproof = nt much or even no air going in...

if air can go in, hw can it be waterproof...

& with little or no air going in the bike will be choking....

So either get a vtwin manufacturing Vcharger ( my kaki is using it so far no complains form him)

or for better "waterproofing" use the stock air cleaner with K&N filter (Sporting Motors $131 cash & carry) but stock air cleaner restrict air flow (even with back plate modification)

Can't have the best of both world.....

Cheers!!!
