nazzi, thanks for your reply. Ok with that doubt erased on my mind, my next question to you is, if given a choice, which model of the FJR's would you prefer? (or are all the same?).

Any useful tips you wanna share to a newbie like me regardin this bike? I was told that the swingarm is made of

aluminium and overtime, it will break? Is that true?

Thanks for reading and hope to get a reply soon, cheers and ride safe always...

i love my current 09 model.i dun know about the rest.simply reason being its newer..

i think motorworld is having hyperpro progressive kit. cheaper then ohlins of cos. availability kindly call them and enquire.last known price i asked front springs rear full set around 1k plus. good or not i m not sure.

I love my 2010 model too. the rest i dono reason same as andrew being newer hahaha.. btw who told you that the swing arm will break overtime even its aluminum??? i dont think so bro unless u had a accident otherwise i cant think of a good reason for a aluminum to break by itself over time? haha if u say cast iron will break over time due to heat and cool maybe will but aluminum cannot be la.

2004 TA 200

2006 Comet GT 125

2006 Baby kawa 150 krr

2006 Honda RVF

2009 Honda CB 1000 R (The beast had been Release!)

2010 Yamaha FJR 1300

Next will it be BMW 1600 or quit ridding go for 4 wheel ???

i think the japs hav done enough R&D before they even release the model for production..so i think u r on the safe side.how often u hear swing arm break? accident thats for sure. given ur weight most lightly is the shocks gg to give way, i presume u got a 2nd hand FJR.

Thx all for your honest reply.

I'm contemplating to get a 1st or 2nd hand FJR. The swingarm thingy is just a discussion with my friends and that is what they told me.

After thinking what you guys said abt the swingarm, it actually makes sense. Lol... Ok, I won't think much then about the swingarms except for the shocks.

Just most probably, I'll get a 1st hand FJR. There are 2 guys selling their FJR's here on garage sale. One is 05' and the other is 08'. Both mileage is considerably low at below 50K. But I'm just worried about my weight with pillion and it'll look funny like the bike going downwards from the pillion area if you know what I mean. Lol...

I'm already having this problem on my CB400 even though I already serviced my shocks at Teck Thye. = (

I guess the best solution for me and my pillion is... to loose weight.. Sigh...

1st hand FJR cost ard 30k over depends on where u buy it too.2nd hand FJR will be alot cheaper, some with goodies too.but it is still ur decision, some like it new and got a big budget.however most of us (i presume) are on a budget.so i would say get a 2nd hand one.:)

Yes you are correct. But budget aside, as I mentioned, my biggest fear that I will be facing if I were to get a 2nd hand FJR are most probably the shocks. Till I get that problem rectified, I guess I'm all good to go.

Thanks bro and everyone who has contributed your opinions!

Hi bro if ur worried about soft shocks and can't afford an aftermarket ones, u can always order a brand new OEM shocks from Auto Machinery. They are brand new unless they have stock u will nid to order.

Not to worry cos FJR parts are super easy to find like the above mentioned AM, Auto Cycle, Chong Aik and even back to Hong Leong. Its a problem free bike with LOADS of power.

I have ridden it and test it out to the max in terms of performance, cornering and even fuel mileage till its last drop.

So budget wise its up to individual.. Wat i can say is i've NO REGRETS wif this bike and it has been my sole companion for the last 3.5 yrs. I bought brand new btw. And now im testing my current ride to see how well it perform.

Gd luck in ur search bro.. The FJR guys here are willing to help where there is a need for answers.

Thanks for your kind words bro. Ahh, since OEM parts are very easy to find, then I might consider a 2nd hand FJR and replace the shocks with new OEM ones.

Thanks guys, appreciate all your help. Now I can definitely decide properly. See you guys soon!

I don't think it takes long, your bike should be ready for pick-up the same day.
