While waiting for Ah Chong to finish the job, I saw a crazy indonesian fellow dismantling his bike and sawing off his bike chassis into bits so that he can hand carry it back home. Really gives the name"Chopper" a whole new meaning. Totally Crazy!!! :giddy:

Guess that was my friend, he bought my WR and asked me where he can dismantle ... so i told him to go Ah Chong..

Ah chong will help with deregister paperwork, and he will do the hardwork himself.

seems like he stick there ever since and become his chop shop..

he said it is easier to ship in a box as spare parts since bike will be used purely for offroad...

Price is stable at $16 for Chex 9000.

Hmmm...2$ more and you get Mobil1 20W50 V-twin from MX Tradings, ofcourse you have to DIY, so it would hard to choose Chex over it. I used to get Chex at 14$ from my AMK shop, that time it was an easy choice.

Just to share my bro good experince with Ah chong planet motor, recently my bro just bought a scram,so it had some oil leak and starting probs,so foloing his fren advice he bring to a very popular bike shop in bukit merah,so the mech there say batt got prob and changed batt, bike next day also died and had to tow back to the same shop, after that mech say this and that prob will cost ard almost $600,and complained bike very problematic cus parts are hard to get, even ask to trade in and get a bike from them -_-... Thus,my bro was kind of stuck and confused on what to do.

Since i was a regular at PM,told him to bring the bike over to ah chong,Ah chong looked and test rode the bike ,he smiled and say simple problem and was fixed within half day.And 2 weeks now bike running strong.Cost =$68.

Best part was by the time the bike was brought to Ah chong it was closing time for his shop,he did not Brush us of ,he even took time to explain the problem and gave assurance he will still do a detailed check to ensure there are no problems, even did headlite switch wiring problem FOC.

The good thing about ah chong at planet motor is that he has many good mechanics who is experienced to help you diagnose the issues and fix it rather quickly.

90th Time at Planet

27/02/2012

5:50pm

weather: Fair

Mood: SIAN....

Went to Planet for my usual oil change for my Phantom after work. There was relatively few people at the workshop today, maybe it's because it's a weekday, but I have a feeling it may be because of the recent COE hike, many people scraped their bikes and got no money to buy new ones.... :(

Today go Planet is especially sian because got 2 hit and run on my bike at my carpark in 2 months.

This time very 'Chia Lat', big dent on my customed BIG tank. The dent was the size of a coffee cup saucer. And cracked my left side box, twisted the handle bars and left several deep scratches deep enough to have sharp edges sharp enough to cut skin on my clutch lever. Mirror bent but still can use. **** man! The Bustard!

Over at Planet asked Ah Chong if the damages to the tank can be fixed. Then asked him to check on the brake lights the lights don't seem to be able to light up properly either light up all the time or don't light up when braking. Found out it was a relay spoilt at the brake lever. Then checked the foot brake, the spring to activate the brake was detached, so Ah Chong fixed it back, by removing the chrome cover's', then I told Ah Chong I didn't know its 2 pieces one. Then Ah Chong told me it's 1 piece, just that your bike old already, the welding broke, become 2 pieces!

Then I DIY oil my chain, because no more lube at home, Ah Chong see already poke his finger into a can of grease and helped my grease up the chain.

Total bill $28

Hmmm... come to think of it, he help me change engine oil cover because the nut worn out, but didn't charge me for it.

Next time go must ask him if he forgot.

Will I avoid going back to save 1 oil cover? Hell no! Pay with interest also I will go back!

I am the one whose phantom was serviced outside the shop. The one who when going back, got another bike coming in up the slope, so I reversed into the paint shop to use the other shop's slope to go home. :cheeky:

Dr.Chong is the boss,so when sum1 brings a bike regarding a problem he will perosnally check it ,test ride and than ask one of he mech to do it or he himself work on it,and at the same time he will check on the work done on all the bikes and he will check it personally before hand back to customer.

All the while,every1 i noe going there, has their bike issues settled promptly.

just spent half a day at Planet, servicing my impulse.

talked alot of cock with ah chong and the mechanics. real funny ****. I was there around 11pm. few bikes. then as the day went on, sudden influx.

but that's fine, Chong got my bike sorted out. New fork seals, EO, Coolant, Radiator cap, Suspension and grips. Total cost = 400 bucks.

You don't have to worry about anything when you leave your bike at Planet, Ah Chong supervises things well and always done a good job. Won't chop you. things that dont need to be changed, they wont change. and they won't force feed you to do other unnecessary things like other motorshops.

But its a dirty shop, your bike finish service there will be dirty with smudge and oil stains. so be prepared.
