Despite all the positive reviews gathered here, I was a little skeptical about Planet Motors.

 

Decided to bite the bullet and travel from Jurong to Planet Motors to get my bike serviced.

 

 

No regrets at all. Ah Chong is a great guy! very friendly and honest. Definitely wont be my last time going there. I'd rather travel all the way to Planet cos I know that when I get back home, I'll have a smile on my face.

 

Really two thumbs up for Ah Chong!

There was a guy riding a phantom with really cool custom headlights. He lives in the west too and came all the way down to Planet just to service his bike.

 

 

TBH, I've tried a shop in Bukit Batok (midview building) but that made me so frustrated despite being only 10 mins away from home. So yea, that's it.. I'm only going to Planet..

 

midview building so famous u nvr heard of it ? oppo my house nia,go there buy 2T for me nia..

but still,always a crowd whenever i go there..

He is like that one lah. One of my bikes also very old type not in production already, he also say no spare parts cannot do. I get my own spare parts then he do, and does an excellent job of it. :)

93rd Time at Planet!

mood: Phew! Luckily got Ah Chong! :sweat:

 

Went to Planet to get my DR's backfire problem solved, after trying to rectify it by tuning the fuel:air ratio by myself without success.

Turns out that it's not the fuel:air ratio that caused the backfire, but the exhaust header. There was a gap between the header and the cylinder block! :lol:

 

Ah Chong teased me and said I was "God" for tuning the carb to solve the problem by myself. :shy:

 

Then before going back, I bought a headlight bulb for my Phantom and I took back my set of gasket for the DR, because Ah Chong said it's not economically viable to overhaul, unless really no choice piston seized already then do. Now no problem just ride lah!

 

Thought about it, ok lor, just eat abit engine oil only mah. :)

Usually he won't recommend people to do unless there is really something very wrong with the valves.

That time going by my odometer should do valve clearance, but Ah Chong said no need! :lol:

i agree.. the other time when one of the mech was servicing my carb.. he asked me why I wanted to service. Then I told him that it's because I don't know when was the last time the carb was serviced.

 

He told me that if there's no problem, don't need to service. In other words, he's a firm believer of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it".

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.
