i was followed by a tp on bike today on CTE while gg to school. After a while he overtook me. So coool

 

not many would think that way dear. even though how stock my bike is, how clear my visor is and how good i ride, i'll feel different when one starts following me around.

 

the time when i got really nervous, when one immediately jumped on his bike upon seeing me.

2 stories from this evening ride

 

Story 1

Left home to go to Chinatown and was cut off by a lady driver, driving a Honda MPV at Empress Road going towards Farrer Road. The lady driver came out into the road very quickly. ok, I was crossing the hump and I was going to accelerate when she cut in. I was very upset 'cos the lights changed to red and I know it'll be a long wait.

 

At the lights, I turned to glare at her when an infant in the back seat was tapping the window, as if saying hi to me. The driver, oblivious to her mistake was admiring my bike. My anger melted and I waved back while waiting for the lights to change.

 

Story 2

 

Was riding with the group to Changi Airport along the ECP when came to the middle lane, this car (obviously another female driver) was going so slow! 80 kph in a 90 kph area! We were trying for a chance to overtake it and when the chance presented itself, I had a quick glance at the driver. Young gal and she was so focused on road hogging in her lane. There was a huge gap between her and the car in front that we (5 of us Harley riders and a Gold Wing) were able to overtake and fill up the gap!

 

I really wonder. Are female drivers really that bad?

my colleague (who rides a HD 883 with screaming eagles) would have gone to the driver side and backfires.

 

nah i think they're some good ones on the road. have faith dude!

These are funny creatures.. Some handle the bikes better than many of our likes.. Others are oblivious to their mistakes. A myriad of variations in my opinion. Best to stay alert when close to them. Having said that, our equals are often guilty of too much testosterone charged moves... Aren't that often heard of our females counterparts.. I prefer handling females' innocent mistakes though. Though unpredictable, its somewhat better than our more aggressive male counterparts. It seems ladies on the road are less prone to swerving their vehicles, although some are clueless... No biases intended... Many male taxi drivers are #)(&^%*^%#s too. Justmy 2 cents worth of experience...

i saw a black volvo parked in the handicapped lot at my estate carpark today. as i saw the handicap sticker on the rear windscreen, i then walked away.

 

after awhile, i overheard people talking very loudly at the carpark. i looked out the kitchen window and saw a gentleman saying farewell to someone looking down to him from the 5th floor at the opposite block. he then walked up the same volvo, opened the door and drove off.

 

if he could talk, hear, walk, open the car door and drive off, which part of his body is handicapped? or is it just some cheap loser way to gain free parking?

 

em, not necessarily to be driver must be handicapped, i read somewhere before, that u can apply handicapped sticker if he/she use the car..

That is what I know also. An abled person will get a handicap sticker to paste onto the car if he/she is commuting a disabled person...

Yest while riding, on cte, exit at orchard road. at d erp junction ther. supposed to turn left. light turns green. we all start moving. ther was a car frm opposite side.. priority is for my side.. he jus start moving without givin way and cut into my lane..so end up me n him merge onto the same road. i nearly bang onto him. he blind or wat? cant see my bike? ofcoz bein g d nice me, i jus swerve away frm me without horning n jus go off. he was actually on d fone!!!!!!

 

wen returnin frm school, i was waitin behind a car at a junction for traffic light to turn green. traffic light turn green n he nv move off for d next few secs. ofcoz i didnt horn agn.. he jus hand signal sayin sorry n then after a while move off.. another case wher d driver was on d FONE!!!! if we riders delay 1 sec to move off, they will horn at us like we committed a big offence but if they do it, we dun horn.. we r so good

Come to think about it, EJ, you're right, they're isolated cases. I think I've gone past a good number of female drivers and riders too that it doesn't attract my attention.

Oh yes, those people. It reminds me of what I saw today when a BMW driver was texting on his PDA phone! Good thing that we were waiting for the lights to change. His attention was on the phone that he his reaction to the traffic lights turning green to our favour was delayed.

been living in the estate since 1989 and have not met or known anyone with disabilities that required to be ferried around dude.

haha lol, I dunno about your neighbours or what but I know I've been residing in my current flat for 3 over years yet there are neighbours I'm still new to when I see them at the lift lobby daily..Its something like the swimming pool is downstairs yet I only went there 3x since I shifted in..

 

I do play wheelchair sports and most friends, upon seeing me in person or the picture will get stunned. those wheelchair lots are real useful I tell you.

Today while riding to school from home,

 

was riding past Jurong Kechil towards Clementi Road and Noticed this Daelim 2b cruiser bike with some mods done up to it.Let the fella overtake me after light turned green and I followed him slowly as we were travelling in the same distance. Was about to reach a traffic junction to do a u-turn, we were kinda squeezing between cars and it was still drizzling.

 

It was opposite SIM(clementi) that the fella suddenly wobbled(fishtail or whatsoever you call it) and he fell with the bike.Bike hit the White+ a lil black colored WRX and took out part of its right side rear bumper. Thank god I wasn't tailgating nor speeding behind him.E-braked and switch my engine off in the middle of 2 lanes and helped the rider with his bike up and pushed towards the bus stop.White Wrx had a lady passenger and a male driver who alighted in front of bus stop to find the biker who kissed thier "aSs".

 

Was kinda late for class so can't stay and help the biker anymore so I just crossed the road again and to my bike(in the middle of the road) and proceeded to class, the wrx was still thinking I was the one who hit him(we're both riding cruisers -_-") so I pointed to him he's behind.After doing the u-turn I saw the rider was being attended to by a chinese with tissue and such.Un-sure of the biker was of what race.Think its a malay and I if I didn't remember wrongly, he wore something inside from a fire station..maybe clementi fire station.

 

What would you guys do in my situation? stay with him to be a witness?

Maybe you should have left your no. so that they can call you if they need witness, since you're late for class?

didn't have time dude, you know yourself how bad traffic is there. Can't leave my bike blocking 2 lanes of traffic opposite SIM and NP la..and our attendance is like darn important to mark

Saw a rider being carried off in a stretcher after a crash yesterday. At the road where Mandai joins the Yishun Stadium at Khatib.

 

Must have happened not long before I came along. Ambulance was just unloading the wheeled stretcher. And Heck it was pouring like no tomorrow. See the Paramedics trying to move him onto the stretcher in the storm from my mirror when I passed. The whole side of the bike Cui (Cracked)

 

Think it's Canadian Pizza, because of the Large Yellow box behind.

Hopes he makes a full recovery...

A very Sad morning to Start the day

 

Hi all, This morning, i was sending my wife to work, as i was travelling on the PIE, just b4 the steven road exit, there was an accident. the motorbike was lying on the ground and also the pillion. hugging the pillion was the rider, he was unconsolable....nobody was helping except 1 guy who park his car by the road shoulder..i told my wife that we must block the traffic cos the victim was lying between lane 4 and 3...

When i went down to take a look, and i know the pillion is dead already, a doctor who happens to pass by went down to take a look. she too said that there is nothing she can do as the pillion was dead already..

Ambulance was already on the way, nothing can be done...i can only watch helplessly seeing the rider crying so badly...bit of tears flow down from my eyes....when i ask another driver who stop further down wat happen, he told me that he just heard a bang and he stop and call for ambulance.

this incident can only reflect that life is just too short...you may not know what will happen...tks for taking time to read...

 

although i dun ride but i drive, this morning incident actually woke me up period. i do not know if the rider is from this forum anot...just wanna share wat i encounter...till now i am still in a unsettled mood...

i dun really like pillioning anyone, cos everyone is someone's else daughter/son.. if anything happen, let alone facing life alone, but facing the music can kill oneself already..
