yesterday while bf was driving, was on the way to macpherson via the stretch of road along Mah Motor. think is upper serangoon road if i not wrong. got 1 lady driver with 4 passengers inside the car cant make up her mind on where to go. i can understand if she doesnt stick to her lane cuz the lanes there quite tight due to ongoing construction

1st, she from 3rd lane change to 4th lane.

2nd, she made a super last min lane change in front of my bf's vehicle almost causing a collision. if she had change a little bit later, i think she would have smack right into those yellow & black stripes divider poles. after that, she lane change to the 2nd lane and turned right to PIE.

another incident was this lady driver turning right to marine parade central. she was on 1st lane and we were on 2nd lane. we were both turning together and instead of turning into her own lane, she turned her vehicle into our lane without signalling and again almost causing a collision just because she wants to turn left at the next junction which was 200-300 metres away.

the ah tiong got practice "how to guard yourself against vehicles" back in their motherland perhaps? haha.. skalii we dowanna give way to them, they "HADOUUUKENN !" hehehe ...

they really should do something about it lor.. when i was taking my class 3, some instructors asked if i wanted to use the cushion or not. SOMe only, not all. but only one of them insisted i use the cushion, so i can see more .. and it really helped though ... wonder how many instructors encourage them to use the cushion to slightly "lift" their sitting height ..

LOL... skali they perform Wing Chun, shaolin "Luo Han Fist" or Tai Ji fist? Best they comes with "ching ting dian shui"...

Hmmm no harm having cushion, I'm supportive about it... some more its removable. Its readily available in car mart?

OH I saw one lady rider at Caltex station before with her black Gixxer... there's once I head off to school this lady on Gixxer 1000... Another encounter when I return to my bike after shopping, saw this lady collecting her bike a CBR1000RR. Recently a lady at custom riding a YZF-R1 2009, very cool... she got a slight ang mo looks.

Yes that's where you have to decide even before u hit the slope... I experience similar issue at the same place as well, last minute lane change... but again at times we must be cooperative and let them filter in if they signal their intention in advance.

we as bikers can help on that front, creep up to her side and HONK!!! the sh!t outta her. there goes the makeup. :p

u evil sia...hahahahahahaha

Side note, just realised that I've given up using the horn. Most road users just don't care or take it as provocation. Much rather just predict or avoid. If I have enough time to use my horn, I failed to predict!

i find tt horn is very helpful leh

long blast of horn will normally be very irritating... i only do that when i need immediate action from the driver (e.g. i know u want to sneak into the next lane, but dont think of changing lane now cause i am at your backside)

normally i sound the horn like this 'beep...beep...beep...beep' it's less provocative but yet causes ppl to sit up and take notice

actually horn is a tool, u predict, and if it seems helpful you use your horn.

like i will usually sound my horn this way when i am approaching an intersection where there are right turning vehicles and i am the only vehicle on the road at that point of time. quite a few times, this has stopped vehicles who did not notice me at first and were trying to right turn, avoiding a possible accident.

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

is very true. I don't deny that using the horn can be helpful. Some help is better than none! Having said that, I'd much rather depend on self-help than external help (depending on other drivers to react appropriately) nowadays. Nasty incidents with maniac drivers.

Was once in the CTE tunnel, this white Subaru Forrester drifts into my lane (was in lane 3) to exit Havelock. I sound my horn, he snaps back to his lane, turns, sees I'm on a bike. Driver then accelerates in front hard, cuts in sharply and JAMS on full brakes. I almost ate his rear.

In retrospect, I should have just decelerated a little to let the bugger get in. My prediction is that some ppl may be having bad days and respond in ways they normally don't. I'd much rather avoid those scenarios. All it takes is one reckless "vengeance" sideswipe. Driver might feel remorseful after that, but I'll be the one feeling the road rash.

As for right turning vehicles, if I suspect the bugger may make a turn, I flick the pass beam. Light's faster, also, I think humans react faster to a flicker of bright light, especially if it's some dude in his car blasting "it's my life" at max vol. Just my 2cents. YMMV.

Diff strokes for diff folks! For me, personally, if I have to let myself get into a situation I whereby I need to use the horn, I have room for improvement there. If it's an emergency situation, I'd rather focus and reaction brake/swerve

Not saying that the horn is useless, just that I prefer other courses of action. Of course, if it's safe, like after the incident, I'll go blast the bugger. :D, but making sure I have an escape route! Never know when you meet some fella cranked up on stimulants.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

today while riding to Singapore Expo, it was freaking PACKED with cars!! they even had road marshalls to control the traffic flow and the roads were partially modified to ensure smooth traffic flow.

anyway, i was on a 2 lane road leading to a traffic light. the left lane cannot be used due to cars parking illegally by the roadside. i was happily lane splitting until my path was block by a Mazda RX8 stuck in between. 3 cars in a 2 lane traffic. what was he thinking??

anyway, as i continue my journey to head for the carpark, the opposite lane was full of cars waiting to make their right turn. the first car managed to make his turn as i was approaching closer. the second car behind also followed him. nvm. i braked a bit and slow down just to let him pass. then, the third car also tried to follow him. THAT'S IT!! i horned all the way as i rode straight on, not caring if he's gonna knock me down or not( i was riding at a snail crawling 20km/hr so quite safe la). he had to jam brake to let me and the troops of cars behind me marched on! :D

i smiled gleefully as i overtook all those cars and enter by the side into the carpark. FREE parking for bikes really rawks! then i saw an empty parking lot. i was wondering why is the space so tight for me to enter the lot. i realised that a car(a white Lexus) had illegally parked at the car-sized open space for motorcyclists to move in/out of the lots! i was so tempted to brush my handlebar against the side of the car. luckily, my bike is small enough to slowly squeeze through.

why does bigger(expensive) cars have peanut-sized brains for their drivers?

speaking of road courtesy.

i needed to lane change to the right as i need to make a right turn. signalled for many seconds. cars on my right are just zooming past me, giving me no chance to lane change. desperate, i slowly inched to the right. a car horned me. i raised my left hand and point to the right. it seems like i am behaving as though, i signal, means must give way to me. but this is road courtesy right?

haiz... disappointed ah...

sometimes i have to stick out my legs and arms to show that "hey, i need to change lane, give way to me please." i just don't like having to plead people just to change lane.

oh well what to do. singaporeans cannot lose.

This is the month of school holiday, the morning tracffic will be just nice. Most of us by right should have a nice ride to and fro during peak hours.

But i start to wonder after this two days.

Yesterday, while riding to work. Saw this van don't know why driving at the most right lane alone AYE. Second and third lane is empty, I think "she". Yes, is a "she", wanna try out how fast her van can go with the chamber on (pipe making noise), and in case piston jam, add some 2T to the engine (black smoke). When i passes by her, look at my speedometer, wow the chamber really workzzzz... 80km/h :slapforehead:

This morning while riding to work, coming to bartley road, going to CTE. I wonder anyone ever use this road in the morning. It the cross junction of Bartley road and upper paya lebar. i was moving along bartley road, down going to CTE (have to passes by some school). The road toward hougang area, just before hitting the junction there is a U-turn right under the bridge. Almost kanna hit by this lady driver who don't know what is the give way dotted line and sign means, and don't even wanna look out for other road user. I think she have a fantastic night being screw, and because she have to send her son to school, cannot go for and can't wait for another round.

Please if you have no patience, don't drive. If you wanna show off that you are rich, buy a bigger car and employ someone to drive for you. But if you have no patience and wanna show off, get a helicopter. Don't endranger other, wanna die... die far far...:sian:

Yup school holidays does make wonders... feel much comfortable on the road...

Yesterday trying to avoid jam so head towards a different journey home... approaching uncontrolled T-junction, vehicles on my right (on-going) and left (minor road) wanna make a right turn... this car (from left minor rd) edge all the way out and block my path... haiz as I need to go straight.

sometimes i have to stick out my legs and arms to show that "hey, i need to change lane, give way to me please." i just don't like having to plead people just to change lane.

drivers/riders have this weird mentality of not giving way... happen to me at times... but giving way can help ease the traffic too... be on your guard especially approaching split lane... if any vehicle straddling between lane get ready that he/she might come in anytime. As u know last minute execution....

today whilst riding ..

ECP towards changi there, i would always anticipate drivers to straddle out of their lanes. then saw this tiny puny car, a perodua, straddle out of his lane. WTH? so small also can straddle out one ahh ?

for the first time my guess was wrong. i thought it's a female driver. but noo. it was a big guy in a tiny car.

anyway, saw the aftermath of a minor accident along temasek poly yesterday. hope the uncle and auntie is fine (=

I encountered a mating dance of.... pickup trucks. SLE 7pm eastbound after Mandai, there was a blue Nissan pickup that appeared to drift from left to right within lane 3. Suddenly a silver specimen of the same species snuggled really close up the backside of the blue one, which promptly shifted all the way to the right, until the right side wheels were on the lane 2 boundary. The tailgating pickup promptly went to "lane 3.9/SH" and for a moment they were side by side in the same lane , both trucks overflowing out into SH and lane 2. The blue one held position for me to squeeze past but I beeped him to decline. He then shifted back to the centre while I overtook the normal way. Lol.

Hmm... good thing no serious injury or fatality....

Today also saw an accident.... or rather heard it... Was making a U turn along tampines ave 2 near the bus terminal there when i heard a loud CCCRRRRUNCH....

After the turn saw a Red hatchback front fender dangling from the bonnet.... the head looked like a goner... In front was a goods lorry without so much as a single scratch...

Sounded like the truck backed into the car by mistake...

Bad day at riding today....o_O

1) Going out, while along SLE, the taxi infront of me ran over a small piece of metal strip on the ground, and that metal flew up and hit my headlights. Later checked got a small crack on the headlight. :(

2) While going home, I was in lane 1, a speeding van from lane 3 filter into lane 2 and straightaway filter onto me as if i didn't exist...have to e brake to slow down a bit or else I would have flown into the drain.

3) Just 1 junction from my home, after lights turn green, I was in lane 3 and going straight, the stupid taxi beside me on lane 2 suddenly signal and turn left, gave me a shock.
