A simple screw will do. One screw drop you want to change the whole fender? Hehe... If your headlight screw is missing one, you change your whole headlight? Haha.

I have the best signature.

Well, u almost have it all... also, blow clean your air filter or change a new one if its too dirty... for all other stuffs, spoil already then change... if you feel or know something is going to spoil real soon, then of course, change before it spoil... thats all...

Oh, maybe u wanna wash carb too... i havent washed for a year though...

Hi.

Have some qustions with regard to K & N air filter. Currently there's this SBF MO Promo on it going for $55.60.

And then there's this Cleaning Kit at $19.70. Another cleaning kit (946ml) at $18.80.

Questions,... Is the kit essesntial or is there alternatives / cheaper stuffs u buy to do filter cleaning?

Is it really a good thing to hav for you Ta200? You guys aren't getting them? Saw only 3 requests fro Ta200 owners... And they don't order the cleaning kit, how come?

In my LTA Transfer Doc. BIke is Phantom 200M, its the name for custom 4, yes? Paid 3.3K w/o insur. for a feb 06, FBA bike. Mileage at 7.1K. Some rust here and there. Mostly still shines pretty good. FC at 32.5 km / ltr.

Its been 3 wks now. Done almost 1k km. At first hard trouble dropping gears to first. Was somehow stuck at #rd and refuse to go lower. Had to inch on #rd then knock down to 2nd then mov on. Got me scared for a while. Wondered if i really got myself a shitty bad deal. NOt sure if i paid too much for it too... Bike comes wif E45 GIvi top box. Anyways somewhere after doing some 400km, i went for oil and spark plug change. Yet to do the Air filter change, but i did open up and vacuum clean the filter. After 4-5 days, that down-shift trouble i had went away. All in all i think it's now a great bike. Really. Sometimes i got neutral getting to 2nd,.. kick too soft. Not the bike's fault.

You fellas hav a great community here. If i'm younger i'd be wif u guys in a jiffy... Those Pulsar guys is another great group. Keepup guys... I'll appear here once awhile to seek advise if you don't mind.

Peace and thanks,

joh

Up to you. I changed my airfilter at planet for $16. heard that ah boy sells for $10. Knn filter they say got long warranty but for me i feel that it is too troublesome and the initial cost is rather expensive and need to take care of the oil layer. To each his own.

Your Knn 55.60+20(cleaning kit) = 75.60

If ah boy sell cheong ones for $10, u can change 7 times and have a meal.

How often would you change one?

Of coz, knn have some advantages. They claim to protect engine better, better combustion and thus, better fuel efficiency and increased horsepower.

One thing i realised is that alot of people use KNN filter because the original might be too expensive... for example, S4 original filter costs $30 while KNN costs $70... which one will you take...?

and that will depend on the road condition you traveled daily as well.

K&N is rechargeable and is more cost efficient in a long run.

Recharging kit cost about $20 for about multiple times usage.

Planet ah cheong charges $10 for every charging of K&N filter + services.

You do the maths yourself. :D

juz a short qn on the engine oil.. My engine oil seems to be burnt up very quickly.. i top up like 200ml per week.. where has all e oil went?

The oil went up in the exhaust fume. :)

Check if your gasket has any leaking symptoms.

If not,

Very likely, your piston ring has worn out, resulting in the engine oil to combust with your petrol.

Check if your exhaust having any white smoke when you rev mid-high stationary.

Pretty standard,

Plug at every 2 oil change interval

Filter you can do a visual check as and when you like.

TA200 is a very easy to maintain bike if the engine oil portion is well taken care of.

Consumable parts such as tyres, chain, brake pads etc

you can visually check it anytime by yourself!

No guide, but this is what you need to do to remove your fuel tank for repainting.

1. Drain out your petrol first. (This step don't know how to do, PM me)

2. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the chrome cover which clams the speedo meter in place.

3. Remove the chrome cover, and turn the speedo meter upside down.

4. Unscrew the small metal bar below the meter that clams the wires in place.

5. Remove the light bulbs from the speedo meter.

6. Pull out the speedo cable that connects the wheel to the speedo meter.

7. Remove the seat cushion. There are 3 screws. Be careful not to scratch your bike when removing the seat.

8. Remove the Big screw under the seat that holds the fuel tank to the chassis.

9. Gently rock the fuel tank, and remove it.

TaDaaa Done!

When it's blackened or dirty compared to stock orange.

If you ride frequently, it's about per 6-monthly.
