Rip!!!!!!!!

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Pls update us on the investigation, i think those who were part of the group should also be aware of the status...at least will make us feel better for the rest of our lives.

Hi leock,

We have come to know the whole fact. But the story is snip from here and there. So, I believe typing words may be very misleading here and there. Then leads to mis-understanding of the whole incident.

We have spoken to our poor lad family and they were very strong.

Please don't felt bad after what have happen..... be strong and grow to be a better man.

Lastly, I am sorry for I could not or don't wish anyone to describe in word how the whole incident happen or what happen.

We got a pair of eyes and ears. We may not saw everything or hear everything and thus lead to not a very accurate scenario.

The mishap, the rider was too tired and suspect to doze of and swerve from right to left and crash the railing. This was confirm by jb and darren as they both were right behind our beloved pass on lad.

We suffer a great lost for a fine young lad. If you would like to know more details about the whole issue, I think it's best we meet face to face and provide you a full detail of what happen.

Cheers!

thanks to all who've respected our decisions of not discussing further w/out proof.I've spoken with many about the incident and even my own family(dad, mum, sis) and quarrelled with them about riding and the aftermath for 2+ hours after I got home.

I realised I was too harsh in my tone after some experienced riders here told me to loosen the heat cover.Am now on talking terms with family and our reasoning about why I ride is settled.

Morale of the story : realise our own limits and think about those around you always.Live and let live.If you've done your calculations and something were to go awry, let it be and let go.

after all the sorrows, smile :]

It's all part and parcel of being a rider; one rider once said to me:" The moment you enroll for your bike license, it's only a matter of time before you bury your first biker friend'. Ironically, he was the first friend I had to bury. It's saddening, but the best way to handle it is simply by being open about it, meaning if it's time to go, it's time to go. Don't get too upset and riled about it till you spark arguments with loved ones, further impairing much needed judgment while on the roads.

I'm sorry I read this only now, and seem to have missed the wake. Can't remember if I've met him even...I'm pretty bad with names. In any case, my deepest condolences too all affected parties.

It was a very sad and devastating day for the riders on that day.

We met at West Coast Mac at 10.30am.

and when i reached home, it was almost 1pm the next day. We have to make sure everything was "settled" and proper.

most of us didn't have dinner/breakfast/lunch.

It was supposed to be a fun, enjoyable, relax "not bounded by rules", simple petrol+makan ride. nobody expected anything to happen.

When i reached the scene, i can see that almost everyone is going to break-down. but they are just trying their best to hold on together. Tears are flowing. Cold, tired, hungry, helpless and a fellow rider down.

Can you imagine standing at the road shoulder for hours? It was so dark and cold. It was also drizzling lightly that night for awhile.

When we reached the Msia Police station, it was already 6-7am. And we were still a long way away from SG. We were totally wore out when riding back to SG.

I truly applause the 2 P-plate phantom riders. (firestream and friend?).

They have done very well and was a great help during the incident.

jB and gohkm for taking care of the rest.

Richsg300 for leading the group back.

Ausa for his valuable advises in the need of time.

Yohji for his help in trying to contact the personals.

The 2 R1 riders( DY and eeyore) for their help in locating the last man and keeping in constant contact with us.

For everyone to try to make a report at the custom and those who went to Jurong Police HQ.

It was through this incident where i experienced true riders/bikers comradeship.

I saw how everyone try to hold one another together, and look after each other. Went out of their way to help.

It's my honour and pleasure to ride together with this great bunch of people, including 'ahky'. :)

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Caught the touring bug once again!

I guess it was totally not fun riding in heavy rain without raincoats, in total darkness at 150km/h for almost 1 hour while keeping in mind a person to look out for. Was abit glad that your side wasn't raining heavily, we went through totally different conditions of weather on different sections of NSH.

Glad you guys held together. RIP Ahky.

I know how you felt.

When gohkm caught up and inform us, we were just going to pull in for the group to take a rest at S******G R&R.

Me and him had to make the U-turn at S****K then make the u-turn at M***P in quick time. while keeping a constant lookout on the opposite lane for the group.

Making thing worst, that northbound stretch was under construction.

Road uneven, lane markings wasn't clear. 2 lanes into 1. it was dark and raining.

the raindrops on the visor + the glare from oncoming headlights make things even harder.

It was extremely gruelling to ride at full concentration when you can't see clearly.

I am not sure of the exact distance of the round trips, maybe 30-40km?

but it felt much longer.

Btw i haven't told anyone this.

During one of the u-turn(should be S*****K), at this huge corner.

Urgent and desperate to locate the fallen rider's group, i was already at quite a speed, wee-hours and no signs/sounds of other vehicles around.

Just at the apex of the huge turn, i saw hundreds of birds on the road.

It was too late to brake already.

I could only crouch down, lightly tap my rear brake, held on to my horn and prayed for the best. (no lowslide at this time pls.)

Lucky most of the birds just marginally escaped from collision into me.

I believe gohkm witnessed everything from behind.

I didn't know what will happen if i hit or rode onto them when doing a huge corner at speed.

What a night.

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Yes, we encountered the huge flock of birds also. But I believe that is before you guys came... We managed to slow down and horn the birds away.
