i think it impossible to mount the bracket at the brake fluid area. it will hinder your handle bar movement. i wonder if put it under the sit pass gantry and carpark can be detected?

 

hmm not sure about R6 but my IU for my R1 fixed with a small bracket to the brake fluid area so tat means the IU its at the middle, no problems with the movement so far. Prefer to be this way instead of side.

I was thinking, maybe can do a bracket at the brake fluid area for the IU to slot in and when you no need it just unplug the cable and take it out from the bracket. Becos if put under seat if exiting from those downslope multistory carpark veri troublesome rite?

 

 

I seldom use the IU, hence its still OK for my "type" of mounting. I just connect & put in my pouch. Reach the carpark sensor, just wave the IU if it does not detect lor.

 

My IU is NOT under the seat (cannot fit leh), but routed and in my pouch

Only an idea applicable when you very seldom need to pass by gantries or IU carparks. Coz I only bring my IU in pouch along (connect when need while its still in my pouch).

 

Never had issues passing by gantries/carparks. With or without pillion also can (coz the IU is in my pouch!))

 

But must remember to disconnect before dismounting

 

 

Another method (applicable to those who frequents gantries/carparks with INTENTION) my fren on a gixxer did (& i think its superb!). 3M DUAL LOCK on yoke & and IU base. If you need, plug the connector & velcro IU to yoke.

 

 

PS : By the way, you guys know that IU has an internal rechargable batt rite? It has to be constantly powered, else the batt will go kaput. So make sure you change it when its still under warranty if not plugged on & batts spoils

aahh?... erm he sold the bike laios. No pics...

 

Its the same as having a per bracket except :

 

1. Instead of connecting IU cable directly to batt, it has a connector near to the yoke/fork etc

2. Instead of a dead stainless steel bracket, it uses heavy duty velcro (of course this depends where you wanna mount it.)

if i make my IU plug and play type operated by the normal sq batt den with tat kinda low power input will rechargable meh ?

oh ya forgot to tell you guys. the single seater dosn't come with the bike for 08 sad. have to purchase it and wait for the shipment becoz its different from 07 cutting. that what mr lee told me.

Plug & play using a 9V D.C. dry cell as power source works also. But just make sure your 9V batt always has power...

 

The IU internal rechargable batt has a lifespan if not stay plugged. This is the same for ALL rechargable batteries in the market. I do not know what type of rechargables are used internally in the IU, but it can be replaced when it is KAPUT (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/faqs/other_faqs/erp.html), but i dunno how much they charge though or issit "warrantied".

For Li-ion rechargables, its life span is dependent upon aging from time of manufacturing (shelf life) regardless of whether it was charged, and not just on the number of charge/discharge cycles. So an older battery will not last as long as a new battery due solely to its age, unlike other batteries. The Li-ion battery has a "time clock["/B] that starts ticking as soon as the battery leaves the factory.

sorry, another noob question, if i wana change header, from the oem exhuast,there's the big box below.then there's a cable which is wit a nut connected to the box,if that cable is dicconnected after we change header will there be any problem??

DO NOT DISCONNECT IT.. it wil set off the self destruct sequence set by yamaha.. ur bike wil explode in 10 secs..

 

dis is to prevent other manufacturers from reverse engineering and stealin yamaha's technology..
