I own a shoei for 5 years liao. Used everyday, rain or under heavy downpour.

Zero water leakage.

The only 'problem' is the slight fogging esp raining, but I guess fully closes FF always got this problem.

That's why I usually leave a small gap.

Anyway, perhaps ur friend didn't close the ventilation vents during the rain?

5 years on, only thing that needs replacing is the inner liniers, but those are very exp! :faint:

This Thread/Poll is Bias...

Id like to add ICON, KBC & HJC if i may. They perfrom & protect just as well (If not better), as the brands mentioned above.

Ive owned the AGV GP1 Rossi & I hated it. Parts are hard to come by like the Visors, didnt have a chin guard so it was noisy as hell over 160KPH.

The Shoei & Arai, you need to have a Narrow head to be able to have a comfortable fit, otherwise if you head is round, then they tend to poke you on your top rear head making it uncomfortable to use on long rides. Likewise, the Brand already commands a price making the buyer pay for part of the name which i think paying close to $500US for one is NOT worth the price of admission.

Definitely there are many players that out there that can offer the same protection & even offer better quality, fit, value for money & parts...

Do shop around... Happy New Year everyone!!!:thumb:

**** Steele; U r very correct with regrds to 'Definitely there are many players that out there that can offer the same protection & even offer better quality, fit, value for money & parts...'

Used-Nolan [italians are gud designers for suits and boots, NOT helmets!] AGV-Helmets [weigh a ton, lousy fit, noisy]

ARAI-DickSteele was right on the 'narrow head' Light weight & good ventilation, Helmet/fittings are too damn expensive though!

Lazer-light weight, decent comfort, decent vent. Miserable quality though!

HJC- Bought recently fr Motoworld. Good fit, good vent, decent weight, good vision during rain, noisy though. Best priced helmet in town! good Quality helmets fr KOREA!

* helmets are replaceable, our heads aren't ! *

would love to think TS is only interested in the above mentioned 3 brands...

hence the poll on 3 brands!
