When I wanted to fit my Night breaker + the guys at UM said.. its a bad idea. I recently moved to JB and I find it very difficult to spot anything in the dark roads. I guess my question is - Anyone having any complaints / compliments with the Night breaker +. I still have one in an unopened pack.

Posted
@mjbs64, the disk brake is a completely different approach. We are testing one. We are understanding it's not guaranteed and we will have to do trial and errors. No one said there's a guy who makes it in bulk and can take an order for 10-15 pieces, and it's fitting the P200 specifically.

It's not like I have a habit of backing off like you say. I support these initiatives, and I think you know that. But I also have to speak up when I think the terms were not clear. I think it's fair to everybody to understand what they get themselves into. For the rear disc assembly, Alvin & I know exactly the risk and kid of product we are dealing with. We are not expecting something "plug and play ready to fit on the bike".

The brace was not presented like the rear disc at all. Now you talk kampong engineer but when the MO was placed, it was by clearly saying it's not a one time item and it was made for the bike specifically and tested and fitting with no mention what so ever that there would be extra work todo on it.

Now you say what? "go feedback to prides" ? Gee, thanks.

Is the disc brake conversion legal?

guys, for this one, is it referring to the digital console for the pulsar 200? cos mine is starting to flicker on and off like hari raya lights! aha.. plus the odometer resets itself while im riding so it is becoming quite unreliable.. was thinking of changing it..

also, any news when the 220 is coming to singapore?

@irahc78 : for the conversion, to be legal we have to go to LTA and get it approved. So no, it's not unless we get it certified. My bet is that if the brakets are not too obvious, it won;t be noticed at the inspection, and definitely will not be noticed on the road for sure.

I've been using nightbreaker plus for like ever, and I can;t imagine putting back the stock bulb ever again. it's a life saving, ride changing experience. I'm not sure what happeed at the bike shop, because they installed mine so, I don't understand why they wouldn't put it in yours, you ride a P200 right ?

@mjbs64, I'm Moroccan, born and raised. How surprising do you think kampong engineering is to me ? My entire life mind set was based on kampong engineering in all aspects of life..lol.. So no, I'm not uncomfortable with it at all :)

What I meant to say, in short, because all this talking is going nowhere, is if something needs to be adjusted, drilled, re-sized, or re-shaped, we need to know before hand.

"It fits on most bikes but it's not guaranteed it will fit on yours, sometimes you might have to work on it at the shop or at home to drill and resize it , so it fits".

That's what needed to be said, instead of "made specially for P200, used by many, fits the bike". That is all I am saying.

No need to lecture me about risks in life, make fun of me like I am being difficult over something I don't understand, like I am bodoh and new and don't understand how Indonesia or Malaysia do things compared to here.

I merely said, we should have known work would be involved. And I think what you should say is : "I did not know myself that we would have to go to the workshop and drill it and battle with it to fit" instead of saying "hey that's how it is, not happy go feedback to them".

I will always want to try things, I have always been supportive and grateful for all these raccuns brought from overseas and tested.

I said I am grateful, and this has nothing to do with you, I think the info communicated wasn't what it turned out to be. My sincere and simple view.

This time, I did not expect to have to get the brace to the workshop to resize it so it can fit, that is all. Why make it sound like I don't understand the way things are, when I am just giving my honest opinion and feedback ?

Can't we voice our concerns anymore ? What happened to listening to each other and understanding each other point of view ?

Just because I say I did not expect it to be like this, does it mean I don't take risks, I don't understand how the product was made, or I complain for nothing ?

Is this how it is now.. ? Then maybe I should just keep my mouth shut, say thank you and keep silent.

No I think it's the main electrical unit, a little box inside the wiring system.

What you are referring to is the dasboard console, I think that's what Revhappy changed on his latst Pulsar.

The 220 won't come to SG, the 200NS might be here sometime in June-July

I haven't changed my dashboard console yet. I have just changed my speedo cable(sensor) and magneto assembly(It is the thing in the left side of the engine, looks like an induction motor )

My Dashboard console too has a minor issue. The rightmost LCD digit of the speedo has only few of its parts lighting. So a speedo reading of XX8 kms the whole 8 cannot be seen. Its only mirror image of C shape that can be seen. :faint:

Although its an eyesore, not sure if its worth changing the entire display :(

So you stay in JB and work in SG? What is your visa in MY?

I got a 5 year visa under the spouse program. Yes, My wife is malaysian. But, I actually did travel on a multiple entry tourist visa (daily in and out) for about 6 months. Also, when i rented my house there, they didnt care if I was foreigner. They just used my Singapore IC as proof. Oh yes, I also have the MACS to go in and out without the stamping.

I now stay in a nice condo for 750 as against a hdb for 23XX in SG. So I don't mind the hassle.

Its too much detail for your simple question.. But, its all the info needed.

IC. Thanks for the info. I agree definitely worth staying in JB and working in SG, especially if your office is towards the west. But I thought the main issue would be getting resident visa in MY, but its interesting that you dont need it for renting . Thats cool.

There is pro and con to it.

pro

Bright

last longer

will not/slight melt of reflector

con

Need rev to get it have max light output as our socket only mean for 35/35w

batt will die faster as more power is needed to power the bulb

Anyway... more feedback of the fork brace...

I am really happy with the handling.. tried riding 1 hand for a moment.. compare to previous handling, feel more safe as it dun wobble much.. But issit normal that the handlebar will feel slightly heavier when turning?? (eg, when turning right, the handlebar will like want to turn more.. need use some strength to mantain the angle)

I didn't experience anything like that, I get full brightness without having to rev for it, and I never had a battery issue since I installed it.

And if my knowledge in electrical stuff serves me well, the 30w difference is not consequent enough on a DC circuit like ours to be a drain on our battery, not with only 1 bulb, but I might be wrong..

This is very strange.. Others using the nightbreaker experienced having to rev for it to light up ? Maybe I don't realise it..

A while ago an Audi driver tailgated me and tried to overtake me at a single lane bend.. If given the opportunity I'd like to take a stone and break both his head and the windscreen.

After a while a mat riding a scrambler with pillion overtake dangerously at bend too. Then traffic light never wait for incoming traffic to slow, he just turn right and swerve here and there avoid cars without signaling. That's another ******* who brings down the name of bikers community. I'd freaking like to bash his teeth in too.

Heading to UM tomorrow early morning, to check my electricals once again, change tyres and may be wheel bearings and find out what is the cause of lack of power, is it worn out clutch plates or something else.

I believe compression test is used to determine the condition of engine. Does UM offer compression test?
