Hey guys, Wanna ask where can I find cheap and reliable shops to do overhaul plus change piston plus change the stick in the piston. Went into malaysia for full servicing last week, n my mechanic say abt Sing $300 sia. I am not sure whether my bike is safe there.

Anyway, let me tell u the whole thing. Mechanic say the stick in the piston is shaky then have to do overhaul plus change the stick. Hai.. So sway...

u wan do in spore 300 can le ma

u wan i can vring u go my place the mech do V gd

FYI i always go AGL but onli go there eat change blub minor stuff carb n engine i wil not let them touch

decarbonise pipe ya la

engine stuff n setting i wil not let them do

since i saw u asking in another thread..

u must understand that there's 2 sticks..

1 is ur crankshaft..

the other one is ur piston bearing (its a cylindrical metal piece to hold the piston and the crankshaft in place before the piston clip..

 

fyi,

the crankshaft will have allowance one..

but if it's super shaky.. then u would need to overhaul..

maybe part they get will b cheaper in MSIA but u think will cheap untill this extend $300 brand new crankshaft and piston new ah.. overhaul gasket need to change u knw gasket also cost $$$$

stick in the piston? hehe...do u mean the piston pin? but if u overhaul in jb, u can get back on the day itself...but depends which shop u go...

ya! if the stick ( we call it "con-rod" sorry dun noe how to spell) is shaky, u need to change tat..

shaky as in when we take out our block & piston and we try using our hand to move e con-rod left right & up down! feel if its moving means ur crankshaft bearing wore out.

 

i think if jb motorshop charging $300sg=$681rm not cheap hor. singapore around tat price also!

 

u can also choose just to change the crankshaft bearing or... 2gether wif the con-rod aswell depend how serious damage is the wore-out bearing dose to ur con-rod..

 

Q: how do i tell my con-rod is still in good condition?

 

An: normally talking about overhaul we will change new con-rod to maximize the power of our bike & also to prevent wear to the con-rod & bearing to have a better livespent of it. But as for budget wise, i think u can still use it.. just put a new bearing into the hole and feel any free play anot. if yes! u can keep the cod-rod at home liao. if not! u can still use it!

 

Q: how come we need to leave our there for at least 1 day to complete overhaul?

 

An: cause they need to have a special machine to release ur crackshaft. normally they send it to someone else to open it. i think if for singapore bikeshop u can fix an appoinment in morning and maybe evening time u can get ur bike back liao!

The mountain here mountin there sounds like some chinese proverb translated into english very badly..Tho I've heard similar stuff but it sounds like this when translated in Engish..If you think you are strong..There's another who is stronger than you..Sounds better IMO..
