Hi kr bros. Just a quick question I had in mind..let's say one wants to save abit on patrol.meaning using lesser patrol consumption. Does it work to turn e switch to reserve or maybe half way between e ON and OFF switch? TIA..!

Not really very effective but pulling in your clutch helps while riding down slope and letting your bike move with it's own built up force but wen your reengaging your gear Critical to let your clutch out slowly otherwise bike will jerk....bad effect if not done properly will slowly eat your clutch plates.....errrrr don really come very cheap lah.

hi kr bro~~ i just confuse about gear oil and engine oil? issit the same or different? pls guide me =/

Its different. I heard gear oil lasts longer and is cheaper. Gear oils is meant to withstand high contact pressure within the gear teeths. Personally I have never used it before. I think the other bros can guide you better :)

yup.. it's "sorta-of" different.. but they have the same "use" for our engine oil.. (EO)

Gear oil do withstand higher temperature and pressure and etc.. but.. when you shift gear and while opening valve.. there will be a different feel... *more strength to push forward, but heavier.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Guys... Those of u with 3yrs exp ur insurance how much?

When I'm ABOUT TO buy my KR in may 2010, it was $470 with ntuc + No NCD because of new policyholder. Two weeks later when I bought it, it was $540. They told me insurance go up and down easily. So make sure u call them again in another 2 week and they'll give u a different price(hopefully lower).

I'm 21 years old at that point of time.

dude, do u know tat engine braking is impt??

haizz, its the same old qns...........

nv let ur bike free gear when u are on the move as there is no gear engaging thus causing danger to urself.

always use engine brake when slowing down or down shifting, master it well.

even down slope or watever dun ever let the clutch disengage from the engine.

how much can u save? save petrol? save clutch plate?

these things worth more than your life??

hard to explain these technical terms, u think about it

would half clutch spoil or wear clutch plate more?

will going at high rpm spoil clutch plate or gears?

lol..

maybe i'll try to re-explain what sparks1 wan to say? :)

Reason for not going free gear is, in case you need more speed or you need more braking power to avoid accidents, it would not be there for you in split seconds.. You have to jam brake only.. thus the "danger" would be impose.

Wayliang, for your question, half clutch would wear and tear faster if you are doing in high rev of 5 & above.. normally it's only btw 2~4 for half clutch.. :)

Gears will be damage if your clutch already gone but you choose to ignore it and just ride + long duration usage of "low" grade of EO (6 months or 100km? :)

Just my 2 cents worth of comment.

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Okay let's ask some comments about two methods of changing engine oil which I seen pple use:

1. An expensive EO(fully synthetic) for a few months.(3-6 months)

2. Cheap EO($10 or below) every month.

Which one do you follow? For mine is 1. Coz I no time to change EO every month haha.
