Nvm lah, just post only. At least I don't go to the extend of giving links. Just point him to the right direction and ask him find out himself.

170km before reserve is bad. Haha, typically should be around 230-280km(assuming she doesn't weigh a lot and don't whack a lot).

$700 for COE 5 years is a bit undervalued. Now 10 years COE is abt 2k plus. So it should be $1k for 5 years COE.

Based on your problems stated, I just give your my opinion. Sometimes we need to check what's actually causing the problem before we say the word overhaul. (although overhaul solves most prob, haha). Some problems need to overhaul, some can be solve or partially solved without overhaul. 170km before reserve? I really suspect the bike is heavily modified cause even with a old, scratched block that I used to have, my fc was 200km at the very least.

Modified bikes, maybe they use a different carburetor setting(bigger main jet which means bigger fuel intake) or even using different carburetor like keihin or UMA. Standard carb is mikuni with main jet 270 and pilot 22.5.

Next, higher fc should be also due to using big bore block or ported block. Maybe your gf got a KR that was heavily modified that's why the fc is so bad.

Anyway, top overhaul(change block and piston) cost about $600-$700 while bottom overhaul I dunno the cost cause I haven't do yet. Assume u do a full overhaul(top and bottom), u will be spending like 1.2k-1.5k maybe? And another 1k for that 5 years COE. So total u spend is like 2.5k. But, you'll be assured of a 'new engine' that can go at 280-330km before reserve. It can also last the 5 years if she's intending to stay with KR for 3-5 years.

But for now, pump the front and back tyre first. Just use 240kpa back and 220kpa front. It can save u 10-20km of fuel.

wow! that's good advice. but some say not worth it cos must consider coe renewal too. i not sure wat to do now, still waiting for more opinions. i cnt afford to fork out money if i knoe this bike is way too bad inside..

so, tyre pressure can influence pertol consumption too?

just my 2 cents of comment first hor.. depending on individual..

1) noisy + white smoke alot = noisy-is it tong pipe? what kind of noisy you referring to? White smoke alot-settings + jettings might be wrong..

2) dun just go overhaul as it might not resolve your problem.. Go to your preferred bike shop and ask.. if scare tio "chop" go Planet at Ubi.. Their pricing is normal.. but at least.. they dun chop people.. :) **bad points about Planet: waiting time long + dirty! lolx..

3) Even if you brought a 2nd hand KR.. It might not be as good as you wan.. Might be worse or better.. Correct? :)

nop, the pipe stnadard i checked. but wat i know the sound dont seem like mod. cos her rpm ratio to speed is low. like, my 6th gear, my rpm 7, my speed is 130km/h. but hers, 6th gear, rpm 7, only abt 110km/h.

haha yep2 u r right. if i buy another kr, wait another prob to expect. haiz. i m still waiting for more opinions but, thanks for your opinion.

6th gear rpm 7 = 130km/h?.. Sounds like urs is mod or using small sprockets, hers using bigger sprockets.. Noisy mayb stomach is tonged or end can mod or air box mod or meter on either one's kr not working properly

Yup, it affects significant all I can say.

Most KR you can find has COE like 3-5 years. Quite hard to find FBA-FBC plates at bikeshops. And definitely u have to pay more than 2-3k plus if u find one. Now that you have one, just renew the COE first. Then slowly do up the bike up. U renew COE 10 years when u want to sell back there's a value.

If u sell and buy another KR is still fine. But its quite hard to find a good condition KR. Most of these assholes mod their KR, try here try there. Once bike got a lot of problem, they sell away.

Yay very much agree. I think its the sprocket sizes. Lamshah should be using 15-37, gf one should be 15-39.

FYI, my meter show 110 RPM 7, sprocket is 14-37.. :) somewhere same as 15-38.. :)

ratio to sped is not low.. her bike's pick up faster den you right? LOL.. if not faster den you, that means settings wrong.. whahah.. :p

renew coe i think 5yrs should be within my budget haha.. i dont think kr got value like after 5 yrs. dont get me wrong, not that i didnt look up on kr. me n gf using standard sprocket. pipe n stomach standard too i checked.. most likely blog potting b4..

i did ask my regular mechanic. he said he can check my blog. but den i asked, if blogset all change, after paying ard 700, still same prob how?wt if got prob wit engine? den must fork money again... but icelkips, gd opinion. mechanic must be gd enough to know the real probs...no, engine oil didnt enter blog..still got white smoke. well, i think, i ask the mechanic to check everything, including engine n qoute me the price. this bike is fully paid, n if i get a new bike, no money to buy full cash, most prob instalment. but again, i'm so worried if same prob occur again... i hope this is the best suggestion ever, unless others got better suggestion. :)

eno: good point u have. they 'test' the bike, if not successful, they sell. but then, bike shop also anyhow take, anyhow sell. dont know who to blame.

The black drops in your exhaust does not reflects that you are a slow rider instead its a normal thing in a 2 stroke bike. Usually it happens when the 2T flow is irregular or too much.

yah, my 2T consumption quite high, around 1000~1200km/l only, unlike bugsy's 1500km.:(

6th gear rpm 7 = 130km/h?.. Sounds like urs is mod or using small sprockets, hers using bigger sprockets.. Noisy mayb stomach is tonged or end can mod or air box mod or meter on either one's kr not working properly

on my stock speedo, i get around 120km/h on 6th gear 7k rpm, so what is the difference between big & small sprockets?

as for FC, many traffic jam = 26km/l, mostly light traffic = 28km/l...aiming for 30+ but so far no success :p

looks like i will "eventually :P" have to follow Eno's solution liao. :(

i myself have not being following my own advice lately due to laziness. Recently, i started slow walking again. 1st time, after just 3km, leg pain back pain. looks like i have start my "training" again after neglecting it for so long. after a few times, 3km no pain. :)

No offence bro but...
