Hey guys. Encountered a problem with my krr just now guys.

I was riding home from work. Going around 120-130.

Suddenly i hear somethig different from the sound.

And also my throttle suddenly feel very light.

Sounds like not enough oil going in.

Then i slow down go rd shoulder and listen again. Really different.

Like very little oil go in. Then i try moving off again. The RPM go up

So slow. And when ard 5000rpm the needle like hesistant want to go higher.

Very slow. Eventually i throttle until 130 again then suddenly everything

Went back to normal. Is it the caburetor or is it my valve jam. Or anything else.

Any clue guys. Some help. Thanks guys. My mech also quite old guy so i also dunnoe

How to explain to him. Thanks in advance guys.

LOL.. first question, where do you stay?

2) did u purposely high rev?

3) how long ago was your last servicing for carb? :)

 

Anyway, based on what u mentioned, it's indeed either the carb dirty (den u managed to blow it out) or the valve jam (you managed to make it workable again).

 

*but the problem will mostly come back again..

I lived in woodlands. Going home from adam road. Last service carb like 3 weeks ago.

Just wanted to go home fast. So high rev abit. Usually nothing wrong.

But not yesterday.

 

you got air filter installed? or maybe your 2t intake is too much causing excessive unburnt 2t. go back to your mech and check.

Had this problem before, my mech told me is exhaust pipe choke.

I got this problem too. Recently when I rev until 8 rpm, then closed throttle and slow down my bike sound totally from the usual sound I hear. I need to rev a few times to 8rpm then the bike able to go back to it usual sound. I went to ah chong before, he said my bike is modified so the valve is always open. So do you guys think is the cause of the carburetor?

good to know some of you guys encountered this before.

so now there are three possibilities.

1- caburetor

2- valve (carbon build up)

3-exhaust pipe choke

go service your carb, after that you could check your mainjet, if you felt as tho ur bike was very light, you could increase the mainjet by 10-20....

after which you could change ur spark plug too.

From the story which you told, i sense that you could have encountered a foul plug, there are various reasons on why this happen,

1) dont often clear carbon, which cause carbon to clog up the plug

2) high amt of 2t intake

 

just my tots.. sorry if i had said any thing wrong in the process...

for me, my personal favourite engine oil would be the MOTUL TRANSOIL, its specially for 2-stroke bikes, people often call them gear oil, transmission oil.

do a better job compared to other engine oils, which cater more for 4stroke gearboxes. Price range 18/+-

i dont have have pets.. so nvm la.. :) seems like your reply is most helpful.. :)

just get a decent one will do. save money. not likely you will be able to fully utilize it anyway.

i know of ppl using semi syn oil. their kr still surviving well.

i think my replies arn't helpful since i dont have the habit of spoonfeeding :)

Hey i juz wan to ask..if krr play track n u whack it everytime will it spoil the engine?coZ after my running in i went to track..after i played track my engine sound diff until nw..hw to knws tat when u need to go for full service/top overhaul..

Do what u want to do,do what u like,don't listen to what people said...u and your bike are bond together n become one heart..let the wind bring u let the gravity bring u..anything is possible it is only between u n ur bike...

Yes, if over rev the bike, confirm will increase wear and tear..

Spolit anot, we cannot tell u as you memtioned sound diff.

sometimes, your stomach cleared out all carbon while wacking = sound diff

sometimes, your piston ring lossen or already struck somewhere = also sound diff

 

Diff sound is telling u diff meaning..

either go bike shop and check or see what's the diff between your kr and any other kr on the road..

 

Lastly, if noisier, mostly some parts got problem.. :)

 

full service = see mood + pocket (wash block/carb/change coolant/decarbon) estimated 1 year?

overhaul - not required unless u going to HEAVILY mod your bike or your gears spoilt..

I can feel n heard the engine knocking.....is tat normal.....

Do what u want to do,do what u like,don't listen to what people said...u and your bike are bond together n become one heart..let the wind bring u let the gravity bring u..anything is possible it is only between u n ur bike...

well you really need to know whether the sound coming out from the engine is really "engine knocking" sound,

in the previous post you did state about just done overhaul, then i will ask you whether you did the proper run-in to your bike,

and about the engine knocking, from my basic knowledge of 2-strokes, engine knocking maybe because of not enough oil and air mixture,

and if its really engine knocking, you should have felt it thru the run-in process.

 

All i could say is, you should go consult your mech, and ask him about it. im sure he'll answer to your queries.

dont flame me, im still learning bout bikes :)
