I just encounter this problem. Might be your ignition switch stuck halfway after starting the bike. Check if its stuck, if it is pull out manually and the light will light up.

Did what you advised....light never turn on...went to bike shop. At the bike shop when mechanic turn on my ignition light suddenly become ok. After changed EO, light don't on...shop advised me to change the whole right side switch assy. Any advice whether can be repair? No crack.

Sometimes, when I start the bike, the speedometer jump around and then go to zero ( just like when you turn the key to the on position).

Is this normal?

actually if you mean the swiping, it's perfectly normal.

have this problem mine cone bearing already change new n original one but it is loose if i tighten it i cannot turn my handle bar easily it will be tight n if i tight it loose i can feel n hear a gap sound when over a hump so i tight it just nicely like not to tight n not to loose but after 3mths it will start to loose back

Hello fellow wanted to know how many kilometers each adjustment of valves is done on a cb 400 sf spec1 vtec . My bike has 49.500km and I think he has never done . Wear it with 10,000 km and its operation is the same as the first day. Thank you, greetings

There is nothing to adjust..the bike is using "Shims" with Cam follower and not Rocker arms like the old days bikes. What you have now and runs ok..don't bother..nothing breaks don't touch...sometime touch you break even more..LOL! Do it only when the shims (16 of them) starts making loud noises..a few occasional ticking sound here and there is ok especially after warm up and it goes of. What you read and heard and dunno who told you is just a reference. No 2 bikes or riders are the same and so are the conditions of each individual bike. Safe the money..what you about to do can cost easily up to $600 at least..it's call top overhaul. My PB1 been coming 19 yrs and getting trash happily everyday..just be sure u do ur eo and coolant maintenance well.

I went to a bike shop, uncle did the wd40 sprayed and checked fuse can't rectify where went wrong. Said bike he don't know how to repair. Any reliable shop to intro? Tks

seeing your problem it is very similar to mine. i did the same thing of spraying wd40 and it worked for me. maybe you can give republic motor a call cauz the mechanic over there taught me how to do it. you can find their contact on the advertiser section.

 

i'm not free recently.. rushing my uni fyp haha if not i can offer to help you take a look.

Hi guys, speaking of ticking sound, if sometimes at idling there's a ticking sound from the right side if the engine, its not a good sign right?

you mean set time? i don't think there is reset button, but you can do it if you disconnect the cable to your meter from your battery. the connector is in the headlight.

 

to set the time press and hold both left and right button until it blinks. for more instructions please refer to the manual.

My Super4 had an oil leakage at the top block that I did not rectify the problem for months due to a health condition. I was then told by the mechanic (I prefer not to name the shop so as not to create any bad name for the company) that the parts in my top block/engine are in really bad shape due to the leakage that I have to send it for an OVERHAUL. And I was quoted a price of $6K plus.

 

Is this the standard price for a CB400 overhaul? Any shops to recommend?
