with the regards to comments regarding the new arrow pipe, juz wana say im a proud owner of one =) lucky for me when i bought my bike Mah ran out of gianellis and they brought in arrows only aft that so i managed to get my hands on these. Persoanlly think it looks nicer than other pipes coz the silver look matchs with the frame and swingarm of the bike. Performance wise i cant comment much coz i havent tried other pipes. Sounds wise, though i have to say it has a unique sound. Partly becoz the market is more saturated with gianellis and older arrows. It has a subjectively nice high pitch buzz. would recommend potential buyers to check out both the gianelli and arrow before they decide coz its a matter of personal preference when it comes to this.

Yea, that's the titanium full system. Biketech (http://www.biketech21.sg/site/?page_id=8) sells it. They've confirmed that it is street-legal (i.e. registered). I'm trying to convince myself that I need it :D You can either go to Biketech yourself to buy it ($650) and have your favourite mech install it (~$50), or go to 37 Motoring and get them to source the pipe and install it (I believe they'll charge something like $750 all up). I'm thinking of saving some money and sourcing it myself.

bro, just check with them. They selling the titanium type at $730 and the carbon type at $680. Where did you ask for $650? and the titanium type only available for 2007 model onward.

Thanks mesa. Does yours sound like the one below? Sounds more bass-y than stock, I have to say.

Oo really? Does that price include installation? I was told $650 without installation. I might go see them after work one of these days to clarify.

I just checked with them on sat. was quoted $680 as well. cash and carry, no installation. bear in mind u have to go for inspection yourself as well, and it cost around $70-80.

Installation cost around $50 i think.

I thought inspection is only required when you get the LTA letter (annually from the third year of your bike registration), at which point I can produce the registration certificate that I believe Biketech would give to me when I bought the exhaust.

Are you saying that, after getting the exhaust installed and regardless of whether I have received the LTA letter asking me to have the bike inspected, I must go for inspection? That would be terrible news. :(

Also, why is it $70-80 for inspection? According to Vicom's website (http://www.vicom.com.sg/inspectionprice.htm), the inspection cost is only $17.

Yes, by right after installing the new exhaust you have to tow to Vicom for inspection but you may ride to there in hope of not getting caught on the way.

For Exhaust and Bike inspection, it's different I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I have a question here. My bike could not start after choking and no cranking sound, only clicking. Voltmeter shows 11.4V and lights are able to turn on. So is it the spark plug problem? Just want to be sure, I did search up some posts back before deciding to ask.

Yup it's the rs model. Not bumblebee. It's the 06 I think. With the white lion design.

your starter motor has got some issues. hope that its just the brushes or the starter relay. thats usually the case. OR, water went into your starter motor. Let it dry for a while, with a hairdryer or just put it in the sun.

carbon brushes 'refurbish' will cost around $100 at ah seng.

starter relay is much cheaper, at around $50 or less? cant confirm the starter relay price.

Thanks for the tip dude. :thumb: As for me, i always have 2 fingers over the clutch (pre-emptive engine seizure measures :pity:) and another 2 on the brakes (for emergency purposes). And yes i truly agree the how solid the brakes are. Those 2-finger actions by far saved me from crashing a lot of times due to taxis/cars/bikes that suddenly come into my lane abruptly. Safety first. Hehehe..

thats very good defensive road riding..2 fingers on clutch and another 2 on brake levers...but during neg a corner, try not to leave fingers on brake levers (u unknowingly might be applying slight pressure on the levers which can be a little dangerous) if u going fast sometimes u brake and then release the levers and u feel bike is not leaning over, its because yer fingers might still be applying slight pressure(u wont feel u pressing it but slight brushing of lever can effect brakes too ) and with brakes on,yer fork cant compress nicely for u to lean bike over..unless u understands the mechanics of trail braking (which i dont advise for daily road riding)

Sweeeeeeeet. Video duly commented on and liked!

Hey mesa, did Mah give you any registration papers for the Arrow from an LTA inspection centre?

yep was given the cert by mah to do inspection. But i havent go yet. haha. Actually i already paid 75bucks for them to do inspection for me(im assuming 50 for towing 25 for inspection) but the buggers tell me i must leave the bike there for 2-3 days at least. I tell them go rilek one corner i wana take my bike home and do the inspection by myself. But till today no time to go. Lol.

I ride with my index finger covering the front brake, and no fingers covering the clutch. There are some pros and cons that come with covering the front brake.

Pros: Reaction time to brake is reduced since you're not wasting precious time moving your finger from the grip to the lever. Also, as personified noted, braking with fewer fingers lowers the risk of snatching the lever hard and over-braking.

Cons: Increased chance of suffering from the 'survival reaction' of braking in situations where more throttle/better steering would have improved the situation (e.g. coming in too hot into a slippery corner, panicking and immediately going hard on the front brake while leaned over). Also, I find my right hand gets fatigued faster with one finger covering the brake vs having all fingers wrapped around the bar.

I'm trying to change to having my index and middle fingers covering the front brake and see how that feels. Emergency braking with one finger, for me, is trickier than doing it with two fingers and with good modulation.

nice explanation.. rule #1 when entering a corner is ..all finger/ fingers off the brake lever and all 5 on the throttle grip...

reason why i use the middle is..its the longest finger i have (well, who doesnt? :p) and once into corners i can just lift it up without touching the brake also i still have a good nice grip on the handlebars.. thumb and index on 1 side and ring and pinky on the other...and blipping the throttle when downshiftting is a breeze

if u notice my signature, thats 1 of Sepang fast sweeping bends, notice none of my fingers are on the lever, all hands on deck for full acceleration, the speed carring into this is around 190km

OH i got a qn for u guys. My bikes rear tail light is dead. But when i press the brakes the lights still come out. Anyone can give a suggestion to what the problem might be? Is it a connection issue? Or the bulb blow. But unlikely that the bulb blow right, since when i press brake the lights still come on.

for me i usually ride with index and middle finger always on the clutch, unless im on the expressway and cruising. But when i go in between lanes and go between vehicles i always drop a gear and have my fingers on the clutch. Have saved me countless of times when i need the extra power to get out of sticky situations.

For brakes i got 2 patterns. For normal braking i use my middle and ring ringer, the rest of the fingers on the throttle. But for braking and blipping the throttle at the same time before i enter corners, i use my index and middle finger. I find my fingers slide off the levers easier and i have more control than if i were to use my usual middle and ring finger. as such the braking is smooth and consistent.
