Neo,

Class 2A M400 is a good choice. It is value for money as eventually you will want to upgrade to a bigger bike. Cost against other 2A bikes are lower. Thou service may be expensive but how high can it go fro 12 months till your upgrade again. I do have a M400 right now and feel it is a good bike to have for city riding. Little down on grunt but in city riding is more than sufficient.

Will sell mine is Aug or Sep..which is when I will receive my new bike for city riding.. For sports I have another Duc as well as a MV Agusta (recently acquired).

A M400 is a sensible choice for 2A.. And it will also help you appreciate the beauy of Italian machines which I have been a big fan of. Hope this input is helpful.

Hey guys..

Went Suntec yesterday and saw this beautiful Ducati Monster S4R on display at one of the shops... It is near to Esprit.. The shop seems to sell formal shirts and stuffs.. The bike is a beauty and there even a Ducati Corse cap on top of it.. Lovely....

All as well, ends well.

Hi Seven, we could have subsequent meet ups in other locations to cater to the rest staying in other areas.

Anyways, if you knock off early, do consider riding up to the east and dropping by. Ciao.

Hi seal,

if I knock off early, I will drop by. BTW where are you guys meeting and what time?

:cheer:

Hi Seven,

Venue is not confirmed. Options are Millie's Coffee shop, Changi V Hawker Centre, or one of those small cosy cafes adjacent to the Shell station.

If you intend to turn up, SMS me first. No. is 96266950.

seal, saw your posting dude

Caught me there bro. But... response is dismal. If there are less than four confirmed riders keen for the meet up, I will call it off. Will have to wait & see.

Hi everyone,

I've been considering Termis for my 2000 M900ie. The raised, CF ones, in particular. But not too keen on plonking down good money for something that I might not be able to use on the road.

Anyone out there with any experience to share about riding on SG roads with raised pipes (my ride's a 2000 M900ie)? Suppose it'd be harder to escape the attention of the authorities with loud AND raised pipes, huh?

Do TP/ROV riders stop Dukes with loud pipes or do they let us go, like they (anecdotally) let most Harleys go?

Any feedback on those EU approved Termis, sound/performance-wise, would be most appreciated!

Cheers!

Hi mort,

Welcome to the forum. For the exhaust, it's all depend on your luck. If you decided to get 1, than you will have to pray b4 you move on everyday.

As for the EU approved Termis, I dun have any friends having it and have never hear that there are any EU approved Termis. So sorry, can't help you on that. :cheeky: :goodluck:

heya Seven, hows everything man.. and the Duke.. been good?

mort,

i can certainly assure you that if a ROV stops you, hes gonna slap a ticket for the termis. with TPs, there is a chance to escape as their primary role is to catch traffic offenders.. heh, i escaped once, with a TP, but i got 6 pts for disobeying certain rules..

its getting tough these days, now mobile squads come with ROV riders incorporated within. im even considering taking em off coz i know its just a matter of time.

but remember, ducatis must have termis. certain satisfaction there. tough dilemma there, eh?

i lowsided in turn 1, think i attacked the corner too fast and lean angle too much and the front washed out. in other words i screwed up.

anyway the bike has been repaired and cost me abt 1.3k. not much, luckily.

as for the tp, im lucky he wasnt well versed with the bike. so whenever i could, i clutched in to cut out the clutch chatter which reduced overall noise.

Basically it's the same with the jap's bike. Every 5KM oil and oil filter change. The different is that the valve servicing is at 10KM($800-$1000) where the jap's is at 20KM(???). Most people having a duke will service it as if they dun, the duke will start to behave differently. As for the jap's, the user manual state that it should go for a servicing at 20KM, but most people dun do it(include myself). Reason for me not doing it were,

1) Don't know where to do it.

2) Most people said dun have to do it as the jap's bike can go further than that.

I think that's the difference between the jap's and duke in term of servicing. :cheer:

Hi was wondering if there are any other alternatives for valve n time belt checks?i know the basic oil changes can b done elsewhere(with no service charge) but what abt the above?

btw whr to get the termis?n how much for the slip ons?

Sorry guys, just can't resist

That means if he travel from Jurong to Changi, he will need to stop once to do valve servicing and another three times to change his engine oil and filter

A ducati rider will always be late for appointments

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Thanks Seven, obitrok, for your all input re: pipes!

Guess I'll give 'em termis a try when I've saved up enough dough, and keep all you guys posted if I get attention from any of the boys in white.

Obitrok, here's wishing you a speedy recovery!
