Dry clutches are difficult to launch since the technique of launching a wet clutch bike cannot be applied exactly. Fiddle around with it a bit more and you should be able to launch it fine with more practice.

yup i guess.. i read somewhere that i just have to throttle more b4 moving off and the sound will go off. i guess its just different techniques from wet clutch bikes

i think its either one of the sound i just dunno which it is.

The price isn't for us mere mortals either! :p

But I've heard they make the most difference when replacing cast wheels on the base models. On the higher spec models, they are more of a fashion upgrade? Opinions?

Difference or no difference, We are mere mortals not insane racers,

Buying such item is abt how deep ur wallet is.

The fuel cut off problem when riding is probably your fuel filter being choked or fuel pump not delivering the fuel smoothly.

I had this pblm when i had my previous SS. Exactly same symtoms as you, ride halfway the bike can suddenly jerk and stall while throttle open. Stop a while, restart still can ride, but after a while it will happen again.

What was discovered on my previous SS was that the fuel tank was rusted inside and the rust particles have choked up the fuel filter and the fuel pump was also faulty. The rust was a result of oxidation, when a bike is parked for long time with empty fuel tank.

Time to get someone to have a look inside your fuel tank....

For me, usually 100km/hr at 4th gear n 120km/hr at 5th gear. Seldom got the chance to use 6th gear on sg road.

I had the same problem when I jus bought my bike n kept going till 6th gear whenever possible. After learning from the forum, then I realised tat I cannot ride tiz way. Shift less is the term tat I learnt from one of the experienced rider here.

Not gd with technical terms, jus sharing some of my experience with the bike.

Hope it helps!

you need to know what spring you're currently on. Is yours ohlins? if it is, then the spring rate is printed on the spring. Well the part number is on the spring so you'll need to know how to read it.

Anyway, I've a 7.5kg/mm rated spring if you wanna try. Fit it on, ride around for a few weeks, maybe even on track.

Just wanna caution you than once you've fitted a different spring, your compression and rebound settings will need to be sorted out. Otherwise, it'll still be a jerky ride. YOU, the rider NEEDS to know how to do the adjustments because the mechanic can only set based on your feedback. It's not rocket science pretty easy to set.

Not sure if it will hurt the engine or not but one thing for sure is, u wont enjoy the ride as itz vibrating like hell...

I clocked 170-175km when the reserve light is on, based on 90% highway. Most of the time, i travel at 120-130km/hr at 5th gear. Occasionally, i do use 6th gear when i let loose a bit to go at higher speed...

The online manual is talking abt the more entry model of ohlins which came stock with our bike, not the ttx which is more high end...

I m getting nowhere abt the springs n shocks n rates too... Too chim for me...

But i m quite okie with the ride now, so probably wont do anything to them unless i get all the terms ironed out...

This is what you should do when you buy a bike (suspension)...

1. Get the static sag.... This will not change for as long as the bike's weight is unchanged. You'll only have to do this once. You can read what static sag is all about from Ohlins' manuals. The only thing you have to decide is the amount of fuel. All this while only the pre-load knob is used.

2. Get the rider sag.... Do not use the pre-knob. You just have to do the measurements. You have a second decision to make... 1 up or 2 up. Not going to change unless the load changes (you and your pillion)

3. After doing 1. and 2. then you can know if the springs are correct (reference from ducti's owner's manual or other sources). This is the basic info that you need. Hereon it's get confusing and technical which i'm not going to elaborate here.

In brief this is what you have to do. No expertise needed, No money involved, up till here. Just needs time, 2 friends (1 if your bike has a main stand).

From your feedback it looks like the spring is way off. You maybe cornering better with pillion even.
