[DIY] How to cosmetically modify the Phantom?

Haha, I just like the texture from a sand blasted base. They give the overall a nice satin finish like those ceramic exhaust you find on Harleys. Have anyone had any luck with a rubberized textured undercoating?

hey, anyone here got any recommendations for places to get reflective decals, something like the yellow and black warning kind?

in fact, any colour will do, preferably purple of course :))

Hey Guys

I seen some tricked out phantoms on the road and I'm on board of the idea of pimping it too.

I have a few questions towards both mechanical and aesthetical, hope experienced peers here are willing to share with me.

I'm keen towards the Rat/Cafe minimum, low down and poised styling, over the huge cruiser approach where I wish to celebrate the small cc phantom as it is.

I am still using this bike as a practical transport mean, keeping the large tank and seat.

Front fender: What did you used? I did some measurements, I thought the RX-k's metal front fender closest fit less the width which is slightly shorter compared to the stock phantom's.

Rear fender :I would like to use the 2 piece metal/plastic GN125/CM125 rear fender. What did you use and was the fitment easy/cost?

Tail lamps: I have no clue where to get a proper tail piece, any recommendation?

Handle bar and clamps: I'm aiming for a straight bar and high risers, just need a price check, who can i go to locally?

Shock: This is more for mechanical and comfort sake, the YSS shock is hard and provides near no damping, would you happen to know of an alternative shock?

Tank: I thought of rising the tank by about 1-2", just pondering if I will suffer how much fuel capacity lost, spillage and balancing?

Under-Tank Wiring harness: I would like to junk the two chrome side covers and metal extension brackets. Can you share where you hid the rectifier and wiring to? Under the frame's head tube where there are some hollow space?

Paint: Any shop that can spray a decent matte black on tank, fenders, triple clamps, fork legs and wheels?

Hope this do not bore you. :)

What I saw one guy did was to remove the covers then bend the metal strips the wires were attached to until the were under the fuel tank.

Hope that helps.

I saw it at a carpark somewhere at Ang Mo Kio few years back.

And was wondering what's so odd about this bike, look like phantom, but something not right, so investigated, then realised the side round chrome covers were missing, then second question is where are all the wiring?!?!? :?

So I Kay Po see here look there the saw the wires were tucked under the tank by bending the metal strips covered by the chrome covers.

Only when you squat down to see under the tank.

From the side view, can't see.

i second what Silent Hunter said, I have friends who did it, as well as seen bikes on the road who have done it. Not messy at all, unless you specifically look for it :)

Technically RAISING OF TANK is something DIY-d.

There's no shop that exactly RAISE A TANK.

If you're lcuky yo bump into a mech who knows how to do it, there you go.

Try poping into random shops & ask for a tank raise, pretty much 7 out of 10 shops would say huh, 1 say change entire tank, 1 say duno, 1 gay kiang talk nonsense with you. -______________________-

Can I check what is the bulb type for our phantom headlight?

And if I'm not wrong, the bulb for our meter should be T10 right? Anyone knows what are the specifications?

Thanks in advance!
