    • YES, you racer-wannabe! Go get yourself a 600cc first!
    • NO, nothing wrong what...
    • I DON'T KNOW, what is track?

First bike I raced was Kriedler 50cc, it was an old GP racing bike. They had 50cc and 75 cc class years ago. Yes I know I'm showing my age, but I started riding at 9. So not that old.

The thing is that smaller bikes will teach you far more about being a smooth and safe rider. You quickly learn that making it smooth is one way to get better, and get good racing lines.

Getting the combination right means it feels all together. Add that to needing to maintain momentum, and you learn just how fast it is possible to corner. How deep you can go into a corner before braking and keeping up maximum speed through the corner.

When I want to learn a new circuit, I use a small bike. Learn the track lines on something small. Then work on it from there.

or u can try play off road woth scramble ..when u come back to road bike u will be more agressive and better in control of your own bike..

I am planning to bring my old 150cc hexagon down to the track for some retirement/scrap finale racing. Not gonna go for any timing or what but just want to push this 2 stroke scooter to its limit. Would like to know if there is regulation on condition of bike that can be use on track? I got the proper gear though.

125km/hr to 0km/hr in 1 sec will make mince meat. Ride slowly to show off your bike, Ride slowly to save your life.

I just took my CBR150 to the track and had great fun clocking slow 2:20 laps but knee scraping through every turn. I haven't timed myself on my RS125 yet but I'm quite sure I was lapping faster than on my CBR. Maybe 2:10 or slightly under at a guess.

The pro's can manage sub 1:40's on 125cc bikes! (taken from 1998 World GP results)

Back then Mick Doohan managed at 1:29 on a 500cc GP bike and Rossi was only 1-2 seconds slower on a 250cc Aprilia.

Dude, you're talking about MotoGP bikes here that's doing 1.34/ 1.30. Those are non production bikes.

Not even R1/ R6 can do dat kinda timings. Last I saw the Asia Pac races fastest guy on a CBR600 was doing 1.35. One of the fastest MRS riders I saw riding R1'04 did 1.39 :giddy:

I know that... all I'm saying is that the size is not the issue.

I've seen a TZM at PG running 1:53 in the 5 lap race before. An indian rider on a malaysian bike. And I've been told that the quick guys on RS125's (race prepped ones, not stock) can do sub 1:50's. I certainly don't expect people on standard road issue race reps to get those kinda timings or even close.

Going to the track is about improving your skills so it's never pointless or stupid regardless of the size of bike you ride. I love turns 6-10 at PG on a small bike.

Well I certainly agree wit u dude. It's the rider not the bike. I've also seen RXZ doing 1.5+ :giddy:

I'd love to know what speed those Aprilia RS125's are doing through turn 2 and their entry speeds into various corners.
