The mech told me that some people are using the DID X Ring chain and have not needed any tightening for 1 year plus liao, unlike the O Ring.

Syarif, before you change your chain + sprocket, solve your leaking bike first, unless you've got money for both. Because chain can always be oiled and tightened, but your leaking water pump or hose causes damage to your engine, then overhaul = $$$$$$. Lots of it.

On the left side of your bike, near the gear lever is the water pump. You can see a hose connected to it. Check to see whether its leaking. Sometimes, rust may have formed at that area after the leakage.

How to know fan working? Travel until your bike is hot, then stop and engage Neutral. You will then hear the fan whirring behind your radiator. Can visually check also..

emorufio, welcome to the non-vtec family! For your info, there are no S4s with V-twin engines, unless you wanna be the first to mod one? Ok.. Hope all your wear and tear parts have been changed by the motor shop and that you did not get chopped.

The most important is the Ver S cooling system. Since its a 10-year old bike, the cooling system (water pump, coolant hose, coolant, radiator, fan) is prone to failure. If left untreated, it could lead to potential engine problems and possibly an overhaul.

For tyres, Vtec series use 120/60 for front and 160/60 for rear. I'm using 120/60 for front and 150/60 for rear, for my Ver S. Planning to get the 160/60 for my next tyre change. But fuel consumption and pickup may suffer a little, that's all.

Anyway, Ver S is a great fuel saver. As a gauge, I managed to clock 421km before switching to reserve. I did not whack the throttle on pickup and I cruised at 70km/h on the expressway.

On a sidenote, I'd have to assume you listen to Rufio? :thumb:

front is 15 standard....if wan a bit faster.....can find rear sprocket 39teeth....that is if can find lah....but ur rpm of 6500rpm at 100km/hr is a bit high i guess...my rpm was like yours until after i went for washin carb n retune at raceworks n the sound improved......most ver s including mine is around 6000rpm or 5500rpm at 100km/hr at e moment...when was e last time u went for some carb washin bro?

.......

but mine is with a Yoshimura Titanium end can n a Version R non-vtec.

wat say u ? btw i did my carb servicin n tunin last year after installin e end can.

as far as i know u dont need to hav ur carb 'disturb' if nothing goes wrong ...

true...i agree with you..dont disturb if nothing is wrong...but first i usually ask myself some questions first

1)Has the fuel consumption increase now since i last do carb servicing n tuning...if fc is still the same...den ride on!....if fc is still good..y bother much abt the rpm right?each bike is a bit different

2)When was the last time i wash my K&N air filter?...if im not mistaken aftermarket air filters like k&n usually last like 50,000miles in normal riding conditions...that is miles....not kilometress....but if u check ur air filter n tink its dirty..by all means....clean it....

vroom vroom....koniciwa yoshimura mushi mushi....

Try using pylox or RJ spray cans.. would do a nice finish for your box..i tried matt black on my phantom years back.. looks brand new..i dun think lacquer is necessary coz the box material isn't going to shine after lacquering anyway..

same goes to ur pillion footrest.. no matter how u spray it.. ur pillion is going to rub the paint off one day.. so just keep spraying lah occasionally.. :)

i'd usually touch up the spray everytime i sprayed my headers..

Hmm, k wil chck the engine top. Mine wil leak even worse if i whack the bike. Sometimes whn park my bike, i'll see trails of coolant tat link to the bottom of the engine:giddy: Me suspect the water pump or ya myb the pipe... If eveytime i ve to top up my coolant then its like topping up my 2T for my past bike. I'm juz worried for my engine... Have any of u chck with ur mech wat myb the cause?

On top of the engine inside? Is your bike suffering from a block leakage? Look for rust stains near the water pump. Take out your fuel tank (1 fuel tank gauge wire, two hoses and two screws) and inspect the entire bike yourself.

Hi all

Bro, worn-out clutch plates got cause vibrations meh? Before and after changing my clutch plates, vibration-wise it feels the same, only the pick-up is much better. Anyway, my vibration problem was due to the crashbar. The right side of the two-point crashbar was pushing against the chassis. Was solved by a new crashbar. Anyway, if you are using a three-point, maybe try tightening it. Could have come a bit loose and causing vibration.

I tink tis is a gud idea. Check also the level of ur radiator coolant. Mine going to chck tomoro, juz now my coolant tank is empty again. So hopefully the radiator coolant is still available, if not, ve a big problem...
