Yo William, anymore good stuffs to try on my baby? Tried your EO, your coolant and also the green oil. Great results. Looking to further enhance the riding experience.

Hi, what is the green oil used for?

Could be but if yours is a non Vtec..check the two holes in ur mid engine block.

Rough estimation is about 6.3k km.

Yes there is some eo leakage stain.

You did advice me to use some kerosene to get rid of the stain.

Where can i get them? NTUC or DIY shop?

Any brand to recommend?

I wont be able to get rid of the stain with just plain water alone right?

Kerosene regardless of brands are all same lah..can be found in HDB type hardware shop or shop selling paint..cost about $2-2.50 per bottle. Yes..water cannot wash it away..but use soapy and them plain water to was away the kerosene after using it.

hi guys thinking of getting a S4 version S for commuting and also my job requires me to meet clients... is it true that ver s has bette rFC than spec 1 due to lack of vtec?

any major problems i should look out for when viewing S4? since its an old bike i feel need to check coolant hose, fuel lines, radiator and wiring problems...

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

What you heard is true. Version S has one of best fuel consumption in the superfour family. Although I'm using an aftermarket exhaust, I still manage to get 400km including reserves. This due to its nature of being a non-vtec bike, having all 16 valves open at all times.

Major problems to look out for is coolant leakage from the mid block, bloated coolant hose that can break anytime and engine oil leakage at the gaskets. Make sure the version S has front brembo calipers and showa shocks.

Anyway to check the radiator and coolant hoses visually or are these problems only discovered when go workshop? Hate getting bad surprise phone calls from my mechanic when he's servicing my bike.,, for the brake calipers also need to check make sure all are brembo and not brembo/nissin mix right?

For cosmetic mods like alien/led headlamp and spec 3 sharp tail won't pass inspection?

Thanks for the info!

Eh my rear shock seems like gozit or something lol how? Btw stupid qn: ver s reserve tank switch. The "full" should be at the top or bottom to close the reserve?

Just got mine today everything seem fine but only tmr can put it on actual road condition. Hehehe

Yours is Gazi i guess. The previous owners must have changed it or worse, the bikeshop must have sold it off. Anw, the main tank should be pointed towards the top while the reserve should be pointing towards the bottom.

Yes visually.. squeeze on your coolant hose to feel its bloatedness and texture. And try to touch your block, when it is cool, to see if there is any coolant leakages. AS for the radiator, you might wanna have to tap it to your battery to check if the fan is working. For coolant problems or more advanced explainations, you can approach a trusted friend of mine, @Ah Pek. He helped me solve my coolant issues. Hope this helps ;)

Leak from where and what comes out? Repair cost with a mid block part replace can cost up to min $850 anytime and this is 2nd hand with no warranty. New one at least $1,600. However can be saved using special type sealant coolant patch at much cheaper cost compared. Need help can pm me.

my ver s after approx 15mins of normal riding will have its engine temp light on. funny thing is if i clutch in or keep below 3K rpm, light turn off. when i was at my carpark, i changed to neutral and rev above 7K and let it drop and true enough the light turns on and off immediately. my friend said most likely not enough coolant. which i checked later on and found out it seems on a pretty low level. going to the workshop to get it fix since my still under warranty tmr.

Question is: most likely this issue will be solved after i top up coolant right? something of a quick fix? cos i need the bike throughout the weekend. no need to flush the system or anything right?

Use distilled water for the time being. Distilled not tap water ah. To add on, your coolant might leak. check your engine block area on the left hand side.

You should check your regulator, that's what happen to me...The regulator spring plunger got rusted and stop working...causing a lot of problem...it can cause your engine to crack just like mine

Forget about ur weekend need...better have them do a proper flush and cleansing of rust or whatever b4 ur warranty is over..takes less than 45 mins rather than nightmares for months when ur bike has to seat in for weeks due to a crack block that gonna cost u $900 at least!..and 2nd one.
