i just got my SW recently (from Looi's) so maybe can share some info for your reference. wanted to get a 1st hand but found a good 2nd hand, bought it

 

Looi's:

ah lee quoted me $12.3K OTR (with loan @5% pa), $12.8K OTR (full cash)

TPFT, IU, registration, etc... pao ka liow. this price is with loan (2 years loan can waive admin fee approx. $150++). if bargain enough, can get a free givi simply 45L included

 

Mah:

sam quoted me $12.7K OTR

TPFT, IU, registration, etc... pao ka liow. if bargain can get a kappa top box and cheap helmet. price is with loan, didn't ask further coz more expensive than Looi's

 

Bike Pro:

ah swee quoted me $11.7K OTR... sounds like the best deal in town, but must add lots of other costs when i went down. +$165 for IU, +$400 for full cash, +$220 for TPFT, loan agreement fee $380, etc etc... but think total up maybe still the cheapest. personally, i hated their poor service attitude and the add this add that manner of selling, do watch out for hidden costs. strongly preferred the everything on-the-table deals.

this is like budget airline, pay less but don't expect service

 

some calculations (based on Looi's deal):

price = $12.3K, deposit = $1.5K, loan = $10.8K

2 year interest = $1,080

payable principal & interest = $11,880

per month = $495

total price = $13,300

difference between cash & loan = $500

divide by 12 months = $41.70 more per month

Decent price (assuming this is OTR) especially if this is 1st hand insurance. Loois r reputable and u r in good hands.

Duno any details abt their SW, but what they do have is no penalty fee if you intend to do early settlement (which means you wanna clear your remaining installments) for your bike. Whereas for Mah Pte, there'll be a penalty fee if you intend to do so. For the other shops, I've no knowledge...

Check with ASPhoon before at Toh Guan. Yes they don't have hidden cost.

 

But their quoted price is to exp.. I was quoted 14K OTR.

Not true, I was told if take loan at 5% interest, then no early settlement fee but if take at 4%, there is a early settlement fee of $500

yen has been weakening for the past 5 mths already.

 

seems to me like a convenient excuse

Oso assess whether the person u'll be dealing with is genuine mah.

I have fixed mine at Tai Hin. Works fine for me.

The only "complain' I have is that this works when the engine is switched ON. Hence if u switch off the engine, the hazard light will be OFF....

 

Hi dude, I tried fixing it b4 and dont get work on my SW... Which Tai Hin or where is the location u fix and how much is the cost of fixing hazard light on SW?

rates have indeed been up and down... but general trend is strengthening and the Japanese government is very concerned

Japan Is Watching Currencies "Carefully," Finance Ministry Says

March 10 (Bloomberg) -- Japan's Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga and his top currency official said the ministry is "carefully" watching the foreign-exchange market, after the yen surged to an eight-year high against the dollar last week.

"We would like to carefully monitor the recent movements in the foreign exchange market," Nukaga told reporters in Tokyo today. He said he can't comment on currency levels.

Naoyuki Shinohara, vice finance minister for international affairs, told reporters earlier today that the government is "carefully watching the currency market."

Japan's currency rose as high as 101.43 against the dollar on March 7, the strongest since January 2000. It traded at 102.27 per dollar at 11:21 a.m. in Tokyo.

Nukaga also said he is watching whether the U.S. economy and developments in the financial markets will affect Japan's economy.

this is a concept bike. very unlikely going into production.

almost got mowed down by a BMW7s this morning inconsiderate driver filtered lane either without checking blind spot or worse still, intentionally bully a motorcyclist

 

good thing bike got auto engine brake when release throttle, squeezed brakes and blasted the horn all the way till bike almost stationary (luckily no car was tailgating me)... close call sia. was too shocked and forgot to note down car no. plate. otherwise i sure make police report coz after hearing my horn (or maybe he didn't hear), driver still continue to cut into my lane
