Terrible One...remember mi?last time ride tzm?this guowei here...

Yeah I remember! It's been a long time. Was thinking about my past rides the other day and remembered ur TZM cos it was very nicely done. It's funny how you can think of something and the subject pops out of nowhere a few days later. And it always happens to me!

just wanna share a very 'memorable' incident which had happened to me at the dealer ship today.

my bike had just completed its major service offered in its service package,

this is the story..

on 'day 1' i went to the dealer to send in my bike for my last service in the package, and also told them to check on my tires as there was a leak, not major just a minor leak which the pressure drops about 10 to 20 psi every 4 to 5 days, maybe due to the temporary patch which i had (due to a nail going through my tire on my last trip to kijal) so they took my keys, and i waited, while he went out to attend to an angmor customer.. so wondering if i could go, i ask the guy attending to me, "excuse me, by what time would i be able to collect my bike, he said not today as its a major service.. so i told me that i got plans that night, and i'll come back the next day, he said ok, n returned my keys

day 2, ( a week later, cause i received a call the next day after day 1, that they have alot of bikes to my service had to be rescheduled, no problem for me on this)

I send my bike for service, i told that same guy, no need to check my tires as ive already went to a bike shop n they check (for free) n are not able to find the leak. left my bike there after the usual procedure

day 3 i received a call from the dealership by the name of 'robin' was talking to him about my plugs n stuff, and the second call i received from him was inform me that my bike was ready for collection, i asked if i needed to pay anything? he said no

Day 4, i went to collect my bike, as with other days collection was just max 15 mins, i went there at 1.15pm, my work starts at 2, (my work was nearby there too), i approached the guy at the counter and informed him that im here to collect my bike, after he made a call, i waited.. waited till 1.50pm then my bike came down, and ridden by a guy wobbling all the way while riding my bike, and jerking my bike as if he dont know how to control the bike.

he parked the bike, and took a good half a min ( i was observing him all the way) trying to get down the jiffy stand, he managed to get it down after i had to put my leg and take out the stand myself.

there i was already late for work, the key was passed to the old man sitting inside the service center office, he was attending another angmor guy at the counter making calls here n there, in his own pace, ok, after that it was my turn, he took the document n went out to inspect my bike, and told me that i would need to make a payment, i thought it was for abt 1.5 bucks cause i glanced on the number 1.5 as he was looking though the job sheet he was holding.

went into the office together to make payment, only later to be told that it cost $80.25!! i really wanted to argue but since i was freaking late for work, so i rush to work n give them a call to give them a piece of my mind.

seriously WTF man u said they took out the tire to inspect and it cost $80.25!!?? ive already told u that a bike shop had already checked for FREE, and u still wanna check!!??

KNN if the problem had been fixed atleast i dont mind paying that 80bucks, but the leak is still there and on top of that, when i rode my bike, NOW my clutch is so far away almost at the end, and i cant even Fking handle lock my bike!!!??? these problem was something you guys had created.

This is my side of the story, the guys at the dealership you knw whom i am, and, you said that you call me tomorrow, and i expect a call by tomorrow!!

the rest of you guys, think really many times before you leave you bikes to these jokers

Chill mate....

now then You know, better sooner than later....

I bet many had unpleasant experiences with them also... (including me... Long story...

heard many tales from "different kinds" of Harley Riders...lol)

Nonetheless, I only visit them when I need to buy oil filter (couldn't get cheaper on the net sadly) & maybe some engine oils at times or getting accessories & spares (battery) which they are cheaper at times (quite seldom) if I couldn't source on the net....

Harley is relativly a simple engine & any experienced mechanic is able to do repairs on her.

I still frequent my Jap bike mechanic as he had some experience with Harleys (esp mine..lol) if not visiting him, my $$$ & time will be well spent with Sunbrust Ah Yee (NO WHERE ELSE!!! as visited too many Harley Pro-shop that make me pissed)

Maybe I'm a local bah, maybe I look like a poor bloke, maybe my bike appearance too "run down", maybe they think angmo aka foreigners more easier to "earn" their $$$...... maybe maybe....

O well part & parcel of riding mate, apply to all bikes of different makes & models in Singapore...lol

heard this current batch of mechanics are previously some heavy machinary mechanics & from the same place also hence their inproficenicy?? (that's what I heard so please don't quote me)

Get your $$$ well spent somewhere else mate....

Cheers & Chill mate...

Enjoy the riding not the frustations that comes with it....:cheeky:

Given you were late for work, I understand you didnt have time to argue. But the dealercan not do work that is not on the order sheet. Make sure its all documented before you leave the bike then cant be hassled for work they should not have done. Anyway, its your last service so can take it anywhere. I have had similar bad service experience at a local shop, put major parts on backwards.

Looks like most HD riders had bad experiences with the dealer. Inevitably, im also one of the victim. Paid them but nothing done to my bike!

recently a bunch of old mechanics have left the dealership for greener pasture or for reason we outsiders dont know.

$ is yours, you decide if it worth going to dealership for your regular services anymore

wanna ride with madness?

I have never and will never service my bike at dealership... anyway it's something you can only know by experience. Take it as an expensive lesson learnt and send your bike elsewhere for servicing mak.

Like stwb1981 says... don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the ride. :)

If it has t!ts or a kickstand, I can ride it.

Should i get a pre own harley 883?

If it looks like the previous owner took care of the bike, then I don't see why not.

wonder what is the price range of a two to three years old harley883? what to look for when getting a preown 883?

I remember someone saying, "no money, no harley"

I guess that applies here, I always thought the dealership wants to weed out the middle class from riding harley bikes. which is dumb because harley always protray the working class hero.

now that the yuppies are buying cars, I guess harley is screwed up.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

There is only one best mechanic for your bike...YOU

Guys!

I lost my Sportster's left side battery cover during some hardcore NSHW riding last month and seeked it out, apparently the cheapest option available to me was to order online. Unfortunately for me, I'm a black-is-the-new-black kinda guy and I thought I'd spray my new set black to fit.

I am offering a 1-to-1 exchange for a good-looking black set you have, topup cash for any imperfections, can negotiate.

This offer is up because the chrome done on this thing is absolutely stunning and I would feel like crap if I'm to lay paint over it; and I know there are plenty of chromeaholics in Singapore ;)

Fits '04 onwards HD Sportsters.

Contact me at 9049 2314, thanks!!!

I have the best signature.

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you throng jap harley websites?

I was looking through virgin-harley(translated badly using google) and i stumbled across the sexiest bunch of saddlebags I've ever laid my eyes on. Made by a company called Degner...

http://www.degner.co.jp/webshop/top.html

Check out the good stuff in the leather item and touring item...hmmm how can i get me some of those...
