Yeah... can't stand that guy

One day, I backside itchy, asked Minerva to do a valve clearance and then my idling super high, sent back to them to tune again, they said need to change thia and that, so more charges. In the end, my bike idling way too low, machiam cannot start at all.

They said my engine needs overhauling, which can cost $2k!! I went back to Mike... and it's fine ever since!

They may not be the best, may not be the cheapest if u send your bikes there to service or repair.

But they are still here to support the only 320 register Ducati in Singapore.

the volume is so low.......

Ducati is like ferrarei...low volume production... need to paid a premium to own it.

Japanese bike mass production- run cost are low too.......

If one want to travel from point to point with a different atittude...

Ducati is the Answer

I had a DUCATI MONSTER from 2004-2006

Each time if i need to replace any parts, if no stock, they order for me.

I think they are fine. How much did u think they need make a day to cover a day running cost, as there are only 320 ducati in Singapore?

Have they been rude to u ?

Or is due to they could not service u at the price u wanted?

Feel compelled to post this:

IMO Minerva is a mixed bag. The workshop has bloody irritating staff, i went there to pick up a pair of spark plugs and there was this idiot mechanic who was hammering me with rubbish questions in an attempt to try and get me to service my bike with them "Why you need to change spark plugs? They should last 25000km minimum you know, you obviously have carburettion issues and need us to fix it if you want it fixed properly" Cmon give me a freaking break! I wasnt in there for a service, i just wanted a pair of manufacturer-recommended plugs!

But on the other hand, the service at their lavender road showroom is top notch. I am obviously not a serious buyer but they give me service like i've got 50000 bucks in my pocket and am itching to buy something. They answer all my questions with great professionalism, and deserve great credit for that. The malay dude who runs the parts store upstairs (Ismail?) is also a great guy.

Their workshop needs to learn the finer points of good service from their showroom colleagues. Personally i hope they just replace the workshop but not the dealership

P.S. Havent been here in a while, how is everyone? Still enjoying your monsters?

Hi guys..

I just bought a new 400.. and from the treads I've read, it sure sounds like I did the right thing.

Can any of you guys give advice on peculiarities of the bike? Eg. hints on breaking in the engine, problematic parts that need extra care, how she rides, etc...

Have also heard vaguely of headsets with bluetooth connection and audio input that can be fitted to helmets.... does anyone know where I can get one and how much they cost?

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you on the road!

Interesting that we go through similar questions in making this decision.

If it helps, over and above the techincal stuff and comparisons with the Super4, it all boiled down to just one thing... The Ducati has loads of character....!

So.. I took the plunge just 2 weeks ago and decided to buy the Monster. I reckon I could probably be happy riding the bike till the COE expires and perhaps even beyond.... anyone out there kept yours for a long time?

Good luck!

1st of all, i would like to say dt i m thankful to Minerva for the service over the yearz!!! Eventhough i maybe new in this Superbike world... Minerva has been a good agent!!! They are not lazy ppl, they give their honest opinions abt ur bike, of how to take care, when to change ur sprak plugs & wen u should go for your servicing..

2ndly, we r riding a "Ferrari" in the bike world so u expect to pay peanuts for your servicing? Be reasonable.. If u cant afford/maintain don ride it!!! Simple as dt!!! Don even dream of owning it in the 1st place... There's other alternative - bikes for you "Cheppos" down there!!! I m not supporting them bt i've been tru wif them they do provide service, give discounts & all...

Maybe for the newbies dt just join our Ducati forum or own a Ducati bike yourself... Learn abt ur "Beast" b4 u buy one!!! Cos its parts is not sumtin u can buy from "Ah-Boy" orait!!!

Btw there are other guys like Micheal from Kallang Cycle... He's a former Ducati mechanic too... U can service ur "Beast" there... So wtz d fuss?

You dont need to pay much to service the beast .... u need brains to service this beast

might be the first/new ducati owners had a better customer service experience from the service staff compared to those whom had bought the bike 2nd hand from elses where?

i dun owned a ducati... yet(haha) but the minerva showroom's staff are professional and always cheerful and eager to answer any enquires should u have one. i'm not too sure on the minerva service workshop's staff's attitude though...
