took a cab today, stupid old man couldn't drive for sh*t. can't keep a straight line on a straight road and still want to drink water while holding the steering with one hand. he keeps crossing over to lane markings and swerves back haphazardly every minute. change lane from 1st to last and then try to go back to 1st again because traffic slow, by the time he move back to 1st, he is already 10 cars behind what he was previously.

so damned stupid, after that, still try to change lanes and what do u get? same stupid result. best thing is, when he spotted 2 TP at the side of the road, HE JAMMED HIS BRAKES at 90km/hr on a 80km/hr road. damnit a L plate learner can drive 100% better than this mangkuk lor.

there's more, he's always trying to let the steering wheel idle while he puts his hands on his lap or on the door

worst driving that i have ever come across. i got reminded of why people hate cab drivers.

LOL.... he works hard for his money eh? I sat in one cab also.... but not as bad as this, driver just woke up.. was slouching at the wheel. Then suddenly he jerks bolt upright for awhile before slouching again. Rinse and Repeat.

Needless to say the cab was travelling at 90-100km/h with the accelerator being pressed at "intervals" (step release step release) so that he could stay awake...:lol::lol:

this "Today while riding" thread has become a Complaints thread already.

how about talk about the good and interesting things that you experience while riding? not just about ugly drivers

Because there is none goodness of the singapore drivers to talk about to start. Those pure driver (does not ride motorbike) attitude and mentality on road is simply hazardous. Lets compared the mentality of rider cum driver and driver only. This is my perception though. Gathering from what i heard from driver friends and taxi.

1. Rider cum driver - own a car and bike. Bike is the main mode of transport and car is usually meant for alternative transport especially during bad weather. As a driver on the road, learnt to watch out for fellow riders and tend to drive at a relax pace. One cool cumcumber on the road. Because these groups of people understand the pros and cons of riding and driving.

2. Drivers only - car installment expensive and petrol price super high. Since i paid SO MUCH, i own the road. They believes the world should rip motorbikes off it face, car is always better that motorbike, motorbike is just as irritating as bicycle and they should ride on pavement. Because the car is very big, if i lane change without switching on the signal, i am not in the wrong because you should be able to see me and give way.

Putting two groups together.....WOuld there ever be peace and understanding? Never......

Today while riding to work, lane split at 1.5. There this bike FBB**** was lane spliting in front of me (Despatch with big metal box). While lane spliting he is travel slow enough, with more then enough grap between car scare of moving pass them, then there more then enough space for him just to keep left or right don't wanna move to the side (What-the-fish). He saw me at the back of him for long enough (more then 10 mins, brake and acc, brake and acc) still wanna lane split.... Best part is when he try to quzz... in between car the bike wrop left and right due to the matel box behind him scary....

Friend, if i were you, i'll keep to second or third lane. Not only, you endanger yourself but also to other road user. Because they can't see what in front of you to react but only can see your box and you to react, if you hard brake all those behind you (also lane spliting) have no place to move "band" something will happen.

Please be considerate.

i second that! i belong to ur group 1. frankly speaking, when i drive, i look out for bikers more than cars. becos im riding, so i understand the danger involved and hence, the extra attention for bikers.

lane-splitting is a bike culture and we can't deny that. when driving, the least drivers could do is to give more allowance for bikes. honestly speaking, i would say most of the time, the allowance is rather comfortable except for a few kuku drivers who drive at the lane boundary.

i aso understand that many drivers dislike riders squeezing thru the traffic and stop in front of traffic junctions, making them feel we are obstructing them. i still do that when i ride, but at least i always kept a lookout of the lights and move off asap.

Achieving 100% gracious motorists is definitely not possible. but i believe as long as i do my part, the day is almost 100% for me.:thumb:

Well, i drive and ride too.

I don't really see any problem spoting out for bike. It just that are you willingly be abit more considerate to all road user.

Example,

How many of the driver really adjust thier mirror (side and rear), esp when they change their sitting position. Some even put "thinned" papper on their windows, some even cover the whole rear windows.

How many really plan and check or understand road condition before they move out, make a early move to signal and get ready to filter. It can go on and on.......

When riding, before moving out check all the light and brake are functioning, also tyre presure.

Don't keep to 1 lane unless you are overtaking, and check mirror if you are obstructing other... signal our intension earlier and don't forget to check blind spot.

Lane spliting, it take a lot more for doing lane spliting. Responsibility, i should put it. Other road user, yourself and your family. Alway prepare yourself, if u tend to have second thougth or tired, don't. Or at that moment mind keep wondering, don't. When i lane split i alway see far far think what the driver in front of me is trying to do, will try not to follow the bike infront of me which i can't see what infront of him. Not to tailage the front rider, and be patient enough for them to react, cause horning sometime will scare him. Once you have the path clear fast, don't stay in between car, unless you wanna wait for the driver to lower down the window and pass you their contact number.

It alway a two way traffic. There a chinese saying,”一种米养千万种人“。Don't know how to express in english.

Anyway, be considerate.

today on the way to sch, saw a nasty pileup on the KJE exit from BKE(towards PIE). one lorry spun halfway around, a car, a scooter and possibly another bike. was alerted by a paramedic bike speeding up from behind me, after moving aside to clear the way, saw alota vehs slowing down in front. both lanes of the exit blocked some distance before the split. scooter was down and out near the shoulder. saw another bike somewhere in the mess from the corner of my eye. could have been another vehicle or bike involved as well, didn't rubberneck.

hope the riders involved are ok and not too badly injured.

note: when approaching scene of an accident, pay extra attention. not to the accident, but to the other road users who'll be paying attn to the accident. had 2 geniuses trying to squeeze out to the next lane at the same time. left fella almost t-bone the other. there were already alota ppl + 1 ambulance + 1 paramedic bike on the scene, so no assistance needed.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

today while riding. so pissed off. it's like everywhere around clementi is jammed. @ junction between commonwealth ave west & SP, and ulu pandan into clementi rd. it was drizzling yet so humid, and doesn't help that before that already kena scolded by customer for being late, this car still wanna be a bully. was already squeezing through traffic coz of the yellow truck that somehow got into the longkang along ulu pandan. then this white car, dont know what brand la, expensive one, the one with the four circles joined together, PURPOSELY KEPT SQUEEZING TO THE RIGHT. and i'm like KIAP-ED in between.

come on la, you want to bully also, use ur brains can ! u kiap like that, not only my box kena kiap, when u move off a little, chances of your tyres rolling over my feet also high mah !

really wanted to punch his mirrors man, but i cant afford to pay for the damages coz confirm i cannot siam away. really kena kiap all the way. and the car on my right didn't notice that i was being kiaped all the way. literally got sort of brain dead, don't know what to do.

in the end waited for the bugger to move infront of me. the cabby driver behind that white metal was kind enough to stop and let me squeeze through on the left of that idiot. stopped beside his car, rev hard2 and shouted the eff word.

i know i must manage my anger on the road. seriously i dont give a hoot if i cant find myself squeezing through traffic because of the tight space in between the cars. but to be bullied in this manner just snaps me off. the last thing i want is for my feet to be rolled over by a car, i experienced it once, and i surely wont want to feel that another time.

my goodness, everyday kena like this, sure high blood pressure man.

Bikers got this type of black sheep also.

Ride sports bikes, colour schemes like WSBK bikes, some more got race number on them.... like to rev their engines also... also like to accelerate hard from traffic lights and worst still, weave in and out of traffic.

Its never the type of vehicle... its the character of the individual operating vehicle.

a case of sour grapes? nah... money is good to have but it's not everything.

rich people with an arrogant and elitist attitude is number one on my hate list. it's the attitude and down to earth attitude that matters. i meet and liase with very rich customers in my dealings at work, both humble and the proud.

i respect rich people yet humble in the way they talk and carry themselves, but those those arrogant fags with a mentality of a elitist can go can fug off.

bro, i can feel you also on the path to being an elitist, exercise caution.

it is way better off, being meek and humble.

it is very true bro, it boils down ultimately to the person's character, attitude and mentality.

it is just sheer foolishness to commit these kind of acts on local streets and roads. it shows how immature and irresponsible they are...
