Honestly, I dunno why car drivers like to flash on the extreme right lanes, even when there's a car in front of me. I just filter ahead and the mofo will still be behind me.

Besides, not even supercars can match superbike acceleration and the supercars makes an acceleration only the 1.8l can dream of, most liter bikes can hit 300, then again top speed is kind of pointless

erm.. tried and tested before.. supercars are might not be able to match superbike acceleration due to weight/power ratio, but once they pass a certain speed, they will be able to close in on bikes for sure..

tried and tested, and stability-wise we will definitely lose out.

but normal sedan/saloon cars, please ask them go fly kite..

still rem i was on my R1 going to 2nd link got a lancer wanna play with me. i twist throttle a tiny tiny bit only went very far liao then realise knn i at license kantong speed liao. ease throttle to legal speed then the lancer overtook me after a while, too close for comfort( we are all the way on completely different lanes but he chose to come close). was pretty much hoping that the bugger was going to msia so i can tear him apart but he went the raffles marina way

but dat was years back liao

now old le, downgrade to 600cc naked bike. no more aggression on the roads liao :p

LOL! i remembering see this joke somewhere in the forum posted by 1 of the fellas here..

goes something like this:

ABC went to meet up with his friends who are all driving. but he rode his ducati 999 down. and so one of his friend who know nuts about bikes, let's call him XYZ, commented that he just upgraded certain stuffs on his car and will enable him to go faster.

and XYZ was driving a 1.4(or was it 1.6l) car.. and he asked ABC, how many cc is his bike.

ABC told him it's a 999 cc bike. and guess the most classic answer XYZ gave to ABC upon hearing the 999cc..

my car will eat your bike for breakfast, lunch and dinner cause i have more cc than yours.. 1400 vs 999 cc..

and the whole table erupted in laughter except XYZ..

like that use the harley v rod and the b king can tear him

Yup2, though I don't see them often, I've never saw them driven aggressively on the road either.

BMWs, Audis, Jap saloons different ah, think this one Need For Speed Singapore edition. Luckily 2 stroke pickup usually enough to get me out of their ti ko peh hands, don't let them touch my wife.

Have not posted in this thread in a long while but I really want to share this with you guys and gals...........

Yesterday at a traffic junction while waiting to turn right.. an idiot van driver decided to stop his van with its front left wheel over my right foot. I could not move my foot and so banged my fist on the bonnet and told shouted at him to reverse.. which he did after his passenger told him what had happened.

The idiot was drinking a cup of coffee and driving at the same time and spilt the coffee all over his shirt in panic when he realised what he had done. We parked at the roadside and I took off my shoe to look at my foot. Nothing had happened to it.

I was wearing my safety shoes which actually look like track shoes. The composite toe cap protected my foot. The driver kept asking me to go see a doctor and was willing to accept full responsibility but I told him to forget it.. I must have been in a very good mood.

Now looking back at the whole situation.. what if I was not wearing the safety shoes? Perhaps in sneakers or better still... slippers??

Because there are always that one idiot on the road... someone else has to suffer. As bikers... we should never take the issue of being properly attired for riding lightly.

I'm iffy on the steel toe boots. Read somewhere that it may actually cut the toes if the angle is right and impact is great enough

Furthermore I don't see motorcycling boots using steel toe

The brand of safety shoes that I am using is Cofra, from Italy. Got it from a friend who is bringing these safety boots in. By the way, the toe end cap is not steel but made from some composite material.

Actually they really look like hiking shoes.

Mythbusters Busted that myth.

Steel toe boots offer protection against blunt trama in their test.

They will however deflect a machine blade if the angle is correct and the blade might slide off and cut the toes off higher up the foot, where the steel toe ends, thus making it look like the steel cap cut off the toes.

Steel toe for me if I am not wearing my riding boots.

Steel toe in the boot won't be the problem if something with enough force would press down and push the steel part all the way to sever your feet, would have enough force to crush your feet anyway.

Slippers on the other hand....minimum I guess would be clogs, missing toes aren't funny.

In my 35 years of riding.. all I can say is this to the newbies... while riding a motorcycle...if you are wearing an open face helmet, if you are wearing shorts, if you are wearing slippers... you MAY be asking for trouble... all that is needed is that your luck run out on that day.

Seen enough cases to support my statement in my time.

Dress for the crash.. not for the ride.

The toe area of my riding boots is made of some sort of composite plastic material. It's positioned in the front of the boots, rather than directly on top of the toe. Which makes sense for crash situations, as it would protect from abrasion & impact from sliding and hitting objects. There's also some the same composite plastic material in the heel and ankle area to dissipate impact energy from a crash.

Whereas steel toes are, i think, built to protect against crushing force from heavy, falling objects. The direction of force from a crash would be more from the front of the boots, than from 'up-down'. The weight of a steel toe boot may also put stress on the ankle or other parts of the feet in a crash situation. I don't know about about machine blades in everyday riding, but i would agree that steel toe boots are definitely better than slippers or crocs.

Last night I kissed the road for the first time.. Was on a slow maybe 50kmh turn and there was some oil on the road. Looked like water at first but dunno why i still continued. Felt the rear go n tried to bring it back. can't remember what happened after but took awhile before I met the ground.

I've always made it a point to wear an amour jacket n jeans when riding far from home or at night, n yesterday I felt that they saved me. I remember sliding on my side n using my elbow to stop. Thou it's not fast speed, it tore a hole in my jeans n my knee had some blue black n scratches. But my upper portion didn't have a scratch, besides a bit of soreness.

Save $$ seeing the doc or hospital.. N use it to repair n at the same time upgrade the bike. ^.^
