Lampa! Signal or no signal also want to argue, I make it a habit to signal but there are lapses, 80% I signal....even when riding like a madman also signal. Anyway signalling is just one flick of a button away, it makes you a more civil rider/driver and I wish more drivers would use it more.

Insyallah you will get much better and make a full recovery bro. :thumb:

Insyaallah bro :) ... Everything dat happens is Gods willing n ada HikmahNya :) ... How's ur condition now ?
Amin. Thanks bros. Now still in process of recovery. So far so good I guess. Alhamdulillah. But just by looking at me one would never believe I have those injuries. Still waiting patiently for the nerves on my face to recover. Its weird but its affecting me greatly. Also now I have to constantly do a reality check. As from time to time everything seems so weird I thought I am dreaming. Remember me in your prayers.

Back to discussion what I was taught was to signal followed by checking the mirrors then blindspot and if everything is clear by all means lane change gradually not abruptly.

Just to share I was a victim of a lorry driver swerving to the right lane so dangerously close to me without signalling and checking mirrors nor checking the blindspot and suddenly stopped. The result is severe fractures in skull and the bleeding of the eye and retrograde amnesia and unable to recall what actually happened. Delusional for about 3 months to add. The driver got away scot free and get to claim from the other party's insurance. Months later TP sent a warning letter to injured person for careless driving. What a great experience. Thank you Singapore road rules. Sharing this hoping others need not experience the same.
rest well dude. don't worry. i believe in karma. he will get retribution for sure. drivers and riders alike need to be more aware of other road users really. the road is not just for them to use only.

Thanks... Mayb shud change to Goldwing 1800, so lagi bigger lolz...
yea you should. bring the Goldwing to track. with your track experience, i'm confident you'll be able to flip the Goldwing like prata.

Haha dats wat i called EGO, cant see pple ahead of them as if e lane belongs to them n nobody can overtake, after speed up then purposely slow down summore, haiz... One of e major factor y i dun use signal coz i now myself dat i can overtake fast n not causing danger to other road users... :)

Hate these people, when i am on road revision, there is this SUV driver, i signal right then he suddenly speed up to and filter left infront of me. He can't do it behind me? just because i am on L plate.

Lucky its just revision. When I was taking my TP test a car overtook me on my right while I was making a right turn. Mind you I was on the most right of the right turn pocket you see at junctions.

Have you guys wonder why those people do that? I try putting myself in their shoe. If a person wants to change into my lane infront of me and I was travelling at a faster speed. Naturally I will,

1) Not want to lose the momentum hence I speed up to clear the vehicle in front so that he can change lane, or

2) Not want to brake too much causing any vehicle behind to bang me

But that doesn't mean they purposely want to block you from changing lane. You could either speed up or slow down and wait till lane is cleared.

As for the signaling, personally I feel it is a good habit to signal even when there is no vehicle around you. It will slowly become a habit that you will auto signal when you want to change lane or turn.

True. But if a car was to signal and you are riding a bike would you still speed up? If you will high chances the car will sideswipe you as drivers seldom bother checking and still turn just coz they already signal. Once collided they will say they already signal and did not see you. Ride cautiously.

Actually I just want to point out most of the driver or rider will not be so "eat full, nothing to do" try to block you from lane changing. Thats all.

I forgot to point out one more senario, when 2 vehicles are too close to each other. That is when the vehicle tend to speed up to clear the lane for the other vehicle to change lane.

To answer your question, I will 99% slow down if I feel it is safe to do so. If I am riding "fast", I will speed up and keep to one side of the lane to create a safety clearance buffer in case he make sudden movement.

There is actually no right or wrong, because what if during this period, there is another vehicle just behind you also trying to change into your lane. But because you slow down to let the vehicle in front of you change lane, the vehicle behind you bang you into you. Because the behind didn't anticipate you slowing down.

So in the end, it all fated?? So like what you say, we can only ride cautiously and defensively. But it is always good to anticipate different senario before making your choice.

I think training centers are somewhat harder than real roads, turn too sharp kena point, never cut signal kena points, look left, look right, confirm plus chop no oncoming vehicles but never check blindspot when turning kena point, difference is, real roads you can't afford to make mistakes like in centers, real mistakes like turning wide during a corner.

This is a good thing of course but its annoying when it just wastes your money on repeat lessons because of minor minor mistakes rather than addressing real problems like other vehicles, mainly car drivers.
