How do you guys feel about riders who ride without mirrors and / or headlights?

Personally I try to stay far far away from them. Mirrorless riders can't see me coming from the rear and may swerve into my path any moment. Worse if they are listening to music - even the horn won't alert them! It is very irresponsible and it doesn't even look cool. Sometimes I even see Class 2 sportbike riders ride with their mirrors FOLDED IN! Some of them might have forgotten, but some probably do it on purpose. Shame on them!

Similarly, riders who purposely ride without headlights (i.e. bulbs are not burnt) deserve no sympathy if they get into an accident because other road users couldn't see them, especially at night. I both drive and ride, and believe me bikes appear very tiny in a car's wing mirrors. If not for the headlight, you would be almost invisible in the night. Why make it easier for yourself to become a statistic?

Ride safe, bros and sis's!

Seen quite a few. I always keep away from them for safety sake. Shd allow bikes with other headlight colours. As when its seen in the mirrors people will pass it off as sunlight. :D

There will always be people who challenge i guess. But i've learnt not to tio bait by them liao. just ignore and they will go away.
Good. Ride slower when they challenge you. It works. Tried and tested.

Where i stay, there's this very very nice and well-maintained RVF. When i first saw it, i was like "sibeh chio sial" but something was off... it had no mirrors, not even those small ones under handlebar. But after so long liao, i noticed recently the owner put mirrors, but it's those small one that go under the handle bar so it's not obvious one. Maybe he like GP look.

As for headlights, i reminded a couple of riders to on headlight before. Some is genuinely forgot, and they waved thanks. Some give me a wtf face, then i just let them be lor, cos i warned liao, my part is done. Even reminded car drivers before also.

I think without headlights is a bigger concern for me, cos at night sometimes really cannot see. Especially more so if they ride totally black colour bike. At least those that are lighter colours like white or yellow will be more obvious with the street lighting.

Listening music or mirror is not that big an issue for me. I once rode without mirror before, cos my old ones broken after parking outside regina to buy helmet (i believe someone deliberately broke them). Had to buy new ones from lim ah boy and go home fix them on. It's a bit inconvenient, but just have to like check blindspot all the way ride. Music as long as listen only one side can liao. Need to at least hear something. But if both sides noise-cancelling earphones, then ho seh liao. good luck.

RIDE.

Yesterday night was riding along PIE towards Tuas, maintaining at 90km/h... Over take most cars slowly until I saw a CL2 Ducati (red).

Upon approaching, this guy suddenly rev up to avoid me (2B Bike w/box) overtake him.. I was thinking.. How could I not overtake you if you are cruising at 80-85km/h? The moment he rev until I could not see his taillights... Ok great.. I thought no need to this kind of ego person liaoz..

What a coincident.. I exited from PIE, and saw him at the traffic light, here I'm thinking, he CONFIRM will rev high high to "avoid" a small bike to overtake him again..

I'm correct, he rev to avoid me from chasing up (which I didn't), 2 strokes are noisy by default..

Upon next traffic light, I purposely "rev highly/valve haven't open yet", and I can see him look at his mirror and look back to me. den he "bend down into racer" mode.. But I turn in to my house..

whahahha.. What a ego guy.. How could I, big size guy with a 2B bike that have a box to chase up a CL2 ducati? I must be out of my mind if I think I can overtake him.. whahahaha..

aiya. Most CL2 riders always look down on 2B wan. when i rode my 2A instead of my 2B out, ppl also give me a diff look too. but i juz maintain my composure. :)

Hehehe... Hear before many stories like that. I also encounter before, but from a RVF ah beng. Cos my mech told me if possible try to hard throttle when moving off to blow out the 2T clogging up the pipe. So i guess during one of the moving off, he thought i challenging him. Next junction, he just zoomed off like madman, but in the end, still need stop at next junction, so i went beside him and talk to him.

"Bro, your RVF sibeh teong leh! Aneh swee! Can't wait for 2A man, then dun need keep tuah-ing throttle to clear 2T."

After that, moving off he relaxed liao, LOL!

the way you talk to him also very beng mah. haha.

hahahaha... it's called effective communication! If talk to uncle, use hokkien sure score. If talk to beng, use beng talk sure score. if talk to those super atas people, use queen's english score also.

imagine use queen's english with the beng, sure fail jialat man, kena whacked! Just like how some gahmen pple like to use big big words, but then somehow, the meaning get lost in the big big words, and the people don't understand...

imagine i go up there and "Good day kind sir! why, that's a fantastic looking RVF motorcycle you have there! It looks absolutely ferocious! I can barely wait to take my class 2A licence, then perhaps i can own such a fabulous looking beast like that beautiful RVF of yours and have no need to gun the throttle of my SP just to blow out the 2T which is clogging up my exhaust system."

By the time talk halfway green light loh!

No rider I personally know looks down on smaller bikes. They may despise riders who ride dangerously or do stupid things on the road to tarnish the image of riders, but they were once 2B and 2A riders before they attained Class 2. Do you grow up and then start looking down on children? I don't think so.

OTOH, the bold part is so damn true. Unless the driver is also a rider.

Class 3 looking down on riders, definitely. To typical drivers, all they know of bikes are delivery, uneducated, and probably cheap.

Drivers, let's just leave them aside. The battle of 4 wheels and 2 wheels will never end.

As for different classes of bikes and riders looking down on each other, I think it takes 2 hands to clap.

True enough, there are those riders with big bikes looking down on 2b riders as if their ride is not a motorcycle or something. EVeryone has to go through the same stage to reach class 2, so why the hate?

Then those 2b riders will have a bad impression of these big bikes, and subconciously trying to fnd ways to have their revenge on the road.

If I can't win in straights, I win in the ability to lane split better than you and so forth.

We all have eyes to see. For class 2 bike riders, how many times do you encounter 2b bikes trying to challenge you as if it can be any faster? No specific group bashing here, but I always get that from RXZs .

Class 2 riders, when is the last time you showed aggressive behaviors to small bikes, who wasnt able to lane split as fast and probably blocked your way and wasted like .. an extra 5 mins of your life?

There will be good guys around, and those buggers whom you wish they never sit on a bike and tarnish the impression of riders.

Adventure.

today while riding,

got NUDGED by a taxi.

was riding along and the taxi from my right decided to switch to my lane, and he came so close to my bike when i wanted to accelerate past, his headlights was already at my rear wheel. then suddenly, i felt my bike back end move to the left abit.

cb, stupid taxi cannot change lane or judge distance properly. i quickly turn back and ask him stop at roadside.

Diao him with his passengers looking at me. and all he could do is give me a stupid look and say i never hit you i never hit you.

funny enough, i check my bike, no damage leh. been a bad month so far, quite a few close shaves. argh!
