For those who are concerned about throttle precision, remember that the most demanding MotoGP racers wear thick leather gloves, too!

Not just thick cow/kangaroo/pitardsleather, but carbon fibre/kevlar/thermoplastic/titanium armour, and plenty of fasteners too, heheh.

Im always fully dressed wearing my gloves, mesh jacket, jeans and shoes everytime i ride.

I consider these equipments as the standard dress code for riding a bike. To me its just dressing appropriately for this particular activity, just like all other activities in life.

That's why I wonder how people can laugh at or call someone else a racer for fulfilling part of the dress code for riding.(Taking into account the person is not an idiot who doesnt know the damn gloves can prevent some damn pain in an accident)

Anyway, do you laugh at someone who wears shoes and shorts to play soccer? Or call him ronaldinho just because he wears the shorts and shoes? LOL. I find the idea funny myself.

Gloves (to protect my palms at least), yep

Fullface, absolutely -- without fail

Jeans, absolutely.

Jacket - Denim. I can't wear my touring jacket when the weather is so hot :(

Boots, only have simple hiking ones. Enough for abrasion protection.

question: Are there gloves and riding jackets that are waterproof and can double as rain wear while u ride? Also given all this jackets/gloves/fullface, if your bike has no box, u have to lug it around with u everywhere u go. isnt that a bit troublesome esp since the fullface takes so much space and the leather jacket is bound to be really heavy.

One word of caution however: These aren't tested against, say, abrasions due to low speed crashes.

i'm wearing the 219 gloves, it's comfortable but as with wearing any gloves there's some restriction.

but be forewarned. the 1st week of wearing the gloves will cause "blue hand issues".

it's gd though .. it saved my knuckle when i skidded.

Please wear them. If you have slipped and fall on a rainy day you will be glad you had the gloves on. Both times I fell, the gloves tear. But protected my hands.

1st accident, mountain biking on a rainy day. Black leather glove cut after fall, the cut went through the thick leather and left a small cut on right palm about 1/2 cm.

2nd time at SSDC during practice. My own fault, that time was testing limit, trying to break personal timing for S-course. :cheeky: White cotton glove, palm section was ripped apart after the fall. Right palm red and sore, but not bleeding or raw. Phew!

Can you imagine what will happen to your hands if you are not wearing gloves?

I still keep the black leather gloves that protected my right hand during the mountain bike accident. If you need more encouragement, I can show you my scars on my forearm where the gloves did not cover.

FYI I just bought 2 pairs of gloves today 1 long pair covering not just the hands , but the wrist as well, and a second pair as a spare for my pillion
