I have noticed for a while now that a lot off Singaporean riders in general drag their right leg for up to 100's of metres.

I have never seen this in other countries I have visited.

can anyone tell me why this is done?

just curious that's all.

In S'pore, knee sliders are located at the soles of the shoes..

Nah.. jokes aside, just bad habits..

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

I noticed this habit too. I don't understand the need for this too.

Once the bike move off, the gyroscope of the spinning wheels keep the bike upright. So there's no need to hang the leg anymore. Maybe the gravity here is stronger. :p

Should not do it.

Once the bike moves off, both feet should be on the pegs.

yeah bad habit, somehow feel safer? :faint:

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

Rider not confident, doesn't dare to bring up the leg(s), scared they will fall. You also see the same behaviour at the driving centres with those Prac 1 learners.

Those who risk nothing, do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing.

Haha i sometimes will do that also dunno for what reason. But mostly is cos of habit.

class 2 riders will realize this bad habit when people talk about in forum and they read about it here.

I used to think this way also.

Until I got my Cl2 bike, guess I move off alot faster from the traffic lights compared to my older, smaller cc rides. A bit asthmatic, my old ah-peh bikes.

Comparatively, the time to retract the landing gear a.k.a. left leg seems alot slower as the moving speed is alot faster. But definitely fully retracted "landing gear" within 10 metres or less.

Now that i taking 2a...i have difficulty adopting a correct posture while riding...my probs is my leg is alway in between the gear...the right way should be leg on top of the gear...arggh...damn hard to change that habbit now!

ah yo.. no one will really leave the foot on top of the gear all the time la. If u do then the "force" must be very strong with u. Same for foot over foot brake. Just get them in the right place when u might need them?
