Front bigger than rear serves no purpose. Cos when u accelerate the rear is loaded more than the front. Makes no sense to put a bigger in front too, its like tying a rock to your bars to make it dull and heavy to steer.

i got a fren using X-1R 100/70 back, 90/80 front. i think its dunlop tt900 (thailand)

I would strongly recommend battlax bt90 for back tyre, bt 39 for front.. if u siow @ cornering coz this 2 mix really makes u want to go down more.. n i used it on my TZM

if u r a drag siao.. dunlop tt900, front 70/80 (or is it 70/60) back 80/80

if u want tyres for wet road.. battlax bt39 will do the work

thanks for the information, 100/70? did your fren make any modification on the rear swing arm?

I'm looking for tubeless type, good traction on the road...

bike shop recommend dunlop too, but i'm not too sure as yet....

BT90 n 39 they are different in thread cutting or size?

Sizing is also another problem i face, i read the prev thread that many mention that we gotta watch out the pairing of front n rear. Front mustn't be bigger than rear. Big as in the width of tyre or overall diameter of it?

i personally will not be using made in thailand tires on a bike, forever.

Skidded twice on em, enuf is enuf.

Consider Dunlop TT900 (MADE IN JAPAN) and BATTLAX only.

Wats the diff between BT39 and BT99?

The problem with thai dunlop is that the quality of rubber is damn lousy. I experienced twice when cornereing before, my rear tyre, the rubber expanded and looked like somebody just hit your head witha hammer and it swells up, like baliku like dat, caused me to fall during cornering, (luckily only practice at track) the second time it happened i was at slip road turning left, lucky i was going very slow. immediately after the rubber swelled up my ride felt like a horse, the rear up n down, although very sutle, i didnt feel good and changed to battlax bt39. till now i dun wanna change any other brand/model (unless someone sponsor me dunlop tt900gp from japan) heehee. i've seen ppl fall from a case of bad choice of tyres man, so choose wisely.

though a lil bit more expensive, nothing beats living another day to enjoy the thrill of riding.

Guys, I want to share one experience so that you all won't kena cheated.

I came to Malaysia AGL after reading all the comments from this forum that AGL there very cheap. Wanted to do some servicing to my bike (Spark 135).

Then I see Hou Heng the bike shop kena commended by everybody till not bad like that, wanted to try out. I using bridgestone bt39s change for only like 4 months only and im sure have plenty of life inside them however the boss of hou heng ask me to change chain, sprocket, tire, die die say install confirm bike more power when all I wanted to do was basic servicing.

I say no then I go to the mamak store eat eat, come back to my surprise they install all the "racing" parts onto my bike. Grips, sprocket, Maxxis tires and etc.

Kena charge one bill RM600++ I was like O.O... I said, boss I said I didnt want all these accessories then the boss give me lj face. Say what, singaporean at malaysia dont play play only. This my first time at AGL so I scared for my life. I bargained him down to RM300. (Note, damn con right?)

Then when I driving out, my bike suddenly like shaky only. I ignore thinking must let my bike adapt to the new spares. I turned out to the highway after travelling for like 1.5km, then MY BIKE TIRE ****ING EXPLODED. The FRONT TIRE EXPLODED. On the highway, I lost control, fly into the air and miraculously all the cars driving behind me turned to avoid me. Lucky that tim I wear my helmet got fasten (cause I normally drive without fastening the latch for short journeys). And I think I was travelling at around 50km+ maybe cause my bike shaky I dont wanna push.

I think I have to thank god I never die there. Seriously. I only suffered some scratches and spraining my thigh.

Then to cut a long story short, some lorry came to pick me up and my bike then I decided cannot go AGL cause I dont trust any of the shop there liaoz, then when turning out, decided to go to my trustworthy Motor diam, Guo Hui Motor, I told him of what happened to me.

We then checked my bike, I see the bike tire Maxxis I pissed off. Don't know what LJ brand is this. Then the boss Ah Boy tell me that Maxxis is one brand that he don't recommend that's why he never keep stock of these tires, he only go for reliable brands that have been sold. Then the mechanic take out the tire I see, shoddy tire, see Made in Vietnam.

I come back home then I do research, Maxxis is dont know what Cheng Shin company China brand, WTH, these tires can easily kill someone.

These tire companies they never QC then they sell these tires around, I scared to think how many people die because they use lousy tires like these.

Ah Boy sympathetic, then this time intro me another brand Shinko from Korea, (Cause I no $$ for Dunlops liaozz). And till now, the tires are running damn good. Thanks to Ah Boy.

I feel like making a police report against Hou Heng, but then I don't know what they would kena, anybody can give ideas?

Anyway, I would not be going to AGL ever again. Let you guys know so that you guys would be wiser to it. Best is to stick with the tried and trusted Ah Boy JB.

LOL

brother. no offence. but with only 2 posts & you want to try smearing Hou Heng's name?? not that i am a super Hou Heng supporter. but the way you describe in yr post is really unconvincing.

u said u visited AGL cause you saw the positive postings abt Hou Heng.

sekali the next thing we know, Guo Hui Motor became yr trustworthy motordiam.

:faint:

there is also a branch of Guo Hui (JB Ah Boy) at AGL. since u condemn AGL shops, does it mean that branch is also no good?

:dot:

tell u what. i recommend u to watch a Singapore made film by Jack Neo. It is called I Not Stupid. There is also a sequel to it called called I Not Stupid 2.

if u have seen properly...i have indicated that i am not advertising for hou heng or the-liked.

just that i feel it is just obvious u r advertising for guo hui. advertising is fair. but not at the expense of bringing down the name of other shops.

:)

anyway, from the looks of it. u are going to avoid AGL, even guo hui.

so i guess things are fine then.

gd for u~

Im not bringing down the names of other shops. Im trying to warn other riders about to be careful when going into JB bikeshops. Not all are nice and some are rotten to the core like Hou Heng. Also, I want to tell them to be careful of the spare parts they install on their bikes. Only go for the tried and tested. And especially. NO to MAXXIS. Bloody China brand made me fall

Bros, important thing u all forgot. You have to nkow our bikes and your stuff. No matter where you go, be it shops in M'sia or Singapore, if they wanna charge you expensive fee they will, if they wanna do slipshod work they will.

In your case ahboyz, you went in there just to do a simple oil change but end up getting screwed cos of other stuff. Just a note, when doing servicing, be there to watch them do it to really really know that you are getting what you want. No harm in that. Besides, you will learn a thing or two from looking at them. Instead you left your bike there with them, what happen if they switch sumthing from your bike? Be careful in the future bro.

Next, as an advise to all bikers. True, economic crisis has hit us hard thus a lot of ppl wanna save up on stuff. But are you willing to compromise your safety on the road just because you wanna save up a lil bit? I've known of ppl using mid-range tyres who have not gotten into any problem at all. There are also our veteran riders(all the uncles riding rx-k, rx-s, rx-z) who use cheap tyres but still got no problem at all. This gets me back to my point of knowing your bike. You need to know the limit of your bike with diferent setups. Expensive tyre, yes ride harder. Mid range tyres dun be too hard on it. Cheap tyres, relax relax riding.

I've been riding for almost 11 years and tried a lot of tyre brands but the most important thing i found out is the rider's riding style. Some use sotong tyres and corner like crazy. Yes these riders show they got balls, but only when TP not around. I mean you wanna show off, go track, use a bicycle racer tyre then corner and c lah, then i say u got balls.

These days, better to watch your safety than to win people's attention by showing off. Singapore now good already got track in Tuas and an upcoming one at changi. Wanna show off your skill then go there lorh.

Aites, take care peeps!!!
