i know for sure axa's refund policy is entirely 'profit-oriented'. next time when u cancel insurance (to sell bike, upgrade etc.) u'll find out.

for cancellation refunds... ntuc does it on-the-spot.. where anda/axa needs 2 months or more...

just called them today and the in-charge said 1 month more. the refund rate for anda/axa is quite outrageous tho (e.g. 3months plus used / balance 8 months) the refund is 37% (short-rate) sums up to $90. original premium $280. it's not even the 37% they stated. juz my 2cts.

at most around $600 - 700+?

depends on the age of the rxz as well

Check what's your original premium against the tax invoice or the certificate of insurance. Perhaps if you've bought your policy through a motor dealer, the dealer may have collected more from you than the actual premium.

That doesn't seem very expensive for the types and values of bikes that Liberty insures.

shops will ususally let you pick 1st or 2nd party only.

but once the bike is in your hands, you can go down to ntuc/mitsui yourself, cancel the insurance and choose whichever plan you want. you get back about 80% of the value of your previous insurance.

Hi, I heard that if u on Hire Purchase from motodiam, on your subsequent insurance year of renewals, u're NOT allowed to renew at insurance of your choice. This means you MUSt only renew insurance from the motodiam's choice of insurance company?

Is this true? Is this legal?

nowadays u cant do that. the bike shop is the authorised dealer for the particular insurance co. If u go to the insurance co. and buy urself, they wont allow as ur bike still under loan.

i experience this...cannot do anything but just pay..bike shop say 1k u also must pay..lol

theoratically if you're riding an old bike, go for ntuc. because the older the bike the lower the insurance price.

of course there are other factors like age, pplate, experience and stuff.

but a real life experience from me is.

honda sp fs plate + 18 yr old riding + p plate = ntuc ~600

yamaha 125z fy plate + 19 yrs old + no p plate = ntuc ~500 - 600

yamaha 125z fy plate + 19 yrs old + no p plate = axa = 375

reason ntuc told me? newer bike = more expensive.

maybe he misheard it...maybe the bikeshop say everything including the insurance the interest is 6%..coz if he take loan from bikeshop...still they charge on everything with interest mah...

btw ntuc still doesnt charge interest, just that under 21 cannot take instalment anymore
