anyone can guide me where RVF is better or CBR400...i personally think that RVF is expensive and yet CBR400 is quite cheap on market price but its quite problematic...help me please =]

from both the cbr and rvf technical spec they seems to have very similiar weight, at most 1 or 2 kg diff i think.. only diff is the seat height rvf is much higher while cbr is alot lower..

 

when i test cbr and rvf, rvf definately feels a bit heavier maybe its the center of gravity or something

i personally feel tat CBR corner is better then RVF... both give me different feeling...

 

maybe i riding CBR sooo.....

Rvf can be problematic too, depends on rider's care with it. :btw: never considered Gsxr400? :thumb:

rvf good pickup due to their v4 engine.. cbr play top end, den rvf cannot smell their smoke also.. :) tat's the diff.. u wan top end or pickup?

dun think thats quite true, a non-restricted rvf can match on par with cbr at high speed. im not saying illegally, older model rvf speedo can go pass the 190 marking all the way to the bottom of the words on the speedo.. was personally clocked by an r1, stock setup. endless setup on a bike can produce different results. a cbr can use a bigger spocket to achieve similar pick up experience as a rvf, and vice versa. more emphasis shld be place on the comparison of the sitting posture, cornering stability and flexibility, pillion height when on the bike cause to be honest i feel that both bike, other den sounding differently and wif different cornering feeling and weight dispersion, both bike are in fact very good bikes to play with at 400cc. if u cant decide, just go for the looks u like the most. and if u still cant, look inside ur wallet and ask urself which bike can u afford without eating grass. if u still cant, my advise to u is not to buy a bike that will cause u urself a financial problem

cbr has better consumption n cheaper parts..comfort riding go for cbr..

If you ask a CBR rider, I think we will tell u the benefits of a CBR but if you ask a RVF rider, they will tell you the benefits of the RVF.

It really boils down to preference and what you want from the bike.

so best bet is to ask someone who rode both ( not test ride nia)

bro i think should c ur financial lah........ rvf would definitely be a better choice cos it SPECIAL!!! previously rode a rvf, from far, my gf can hear my bike is coming haha it got a very unique sound..... if u knows how to design n mod the bike, it can really be very very nice. i personally know a few guys who modded their rvf till superb! moriwaki twin stack exhaust.... another guy with rossi's paintwork during with honda, he spent more than 15k on his bike! went on exhibition before..... It not easy to maintain a rvf, u really need to take good care of it but before tt, u must be lucky enough to get a good condition rvf as most of the rvf are already quite old.

 

Look at what u want, appearance or what? resale value? bla bla bla

i find the difference boils down to

 

CBR:

Inline 4

Banana Swing Arm

Normal fork

 

RVF:

V4

Proarm (which has everything on one side. which i find offensive)

Inverted fork

 

what offends me about the proarm is that they leave everything on one side. exhause, disc brake and chain all on the left side. granted this will allow you to change rear wheels very quickly on the track, but who does that? who even has a spare wheel? lets also no forget that the chain is one the same side as the disc brake. i shudder tho think about anyone who is too lazy to wipe off excess chain lube.

 

performance wise it boils down to the type of engine you prefer. do you prefer the throttle friendly v engine and tackle corners with the wide powerband? or perhaps you have a more conventional method of cornering with the narrow RPM that gives you the best torque?

 

theoretically the CBR should have a higher maintainable top speed than the rvf. theoretically.

 

then it also comes down to cost. is it justified to purchase a bike that costs twice as much as the other? the shop selling price for an RVF is ridiculous.

 

another question you might want to ask is, would you be changing bike when you get your class 2? if so, why would you want to tie yourself down by a more expensive hire purchase plan?

bear in mind to consider whether the sitting posture suits you or not. i have friends who buy a bike capable of high speed and good cornering at a higher limit but get back aches everytime he rides, in fact such complains come hand in hand when he starts complimenting his bike. don't think anyone would want to ride a bike that he cant ride with comfort. jsut my 2 cents worth
