Hi all.

I recently got my hands on a Gilera Runner 2 Stroke, 180cc. I have been riding scrams an its the first time i'm actually riding a scoot. I'm thinking of changing the fairings to my WHOLE scoot as the current ones are abit old looking.

Any reccommendations to where i should go to? Location? And how much i must expect to pay for fairings to the whole bike? All help will be greatly appreciated. CHEERS!!! :thumb:

I suggest u handle your working parts first then comes fairings..

But if u dont, be prepared to to throw $$ to tow-truck. Gd Luck..

I believe urs is a 1993-1994 Indonesian Exclusive 2 150 (also known as PX150). It has 1 of the toughest engine (better than the Excel).

Keep the bike well, respray, service the engine well, & it will serve you for a long time. Very reliable machine.

My 2 cents....

ugly looking fairing is not a major issue...a respary will be fine...but as u say it is a 2stroke..n 2strokes r old n usually some or most wear n tear parts require replacement which will be more important than fairings thus gd luck n hav fun :thumb:

very true.. not to scare u, coz im riding a 2T also.. first time buy, i spend 5 months in a row going to workshop, each mnth spendin half my pay.. now almost all inside is first hand, except piston.. but then u will feel the power of autoscoot.. n now i more 'sayang' to let go..

but if u still wanna buy, kallang got 3 wrkshops all walking dist.. n the new evo fairing can trade in ur old one save $1oo+ i tink(at sunrise).. but if me, i rather respray...

I suggest u handle your working parts first then comes fairings..

But if u dont, be prepared to to throw $$ to tow-truck. Gd Luck..

Thanks all for the advice... Ok... So what are the parts you guys recommend i pay attention to/change?

too many to say...if not properly taken care of n especially after 4yrs most stuff on the bike will suffer wear n tear (well happens on all bikes actually)..

1st b4 being able to recommend wat to change or paying attention to, u will need to know the service history of ur ride if that is unavailable, then perhaps reading thru the 1st few pages of this thread will be helpful...will be even more helpful if u can complete reading the whole thread.

the fiLter itseLf is 40 bro.. ur friend must've asked the shop to instaL it as weLL.. which incLudes a change of jetting size if necessary.. so must open the carb n aLL that Labor. ur friend did at mach speed is it? i know they charge that price. my fc's a LiL over 27km/L which i'm happy with. i think it wins in terms of Looks as weLL. much more cLeaner Look in ur carb area.

so far i've onLy used hurricane. never tried other brands.. there's another type of fiLter which Looks simiLar to hurricane.. cheaper.. 18 bucks.. no brand but works just as weLL. u can find them at B PLUS aLong Lavender. but u gotta instaLL urseLf tho. fitting it is easy cos its direct mount.. but u have to pLay ard with the jet size to get the setup rite.

06 runner is the latest model of the piaggio runner rite?

think the latest version of runner has tat problem of water leaking into the petrol tank

ya. mine collected near 2 litre of water some time back. sent to Piaggio, Mr yap flush and drew 2 l of water out.

he also got no solution, guess the fuel cap need a cover.

i swoppped the fuel cap over, that is now the flip up catch is at 12 o clock instead of 6 o clock

hi all, just got myself a gilera vxr200. there are few qns i like to ask and hope to get some answers. is it normally to have a burning plastic smell initially? i got this smell when i just rode my bike. Also any place to recommend for fitment of box? thanks.

if its a new bike then its normaL to have a weird smeLL whiLe running in.. new bikes n engines n pipes have a thin Layer of oiL to protect it whiLe in storage. when the bike is bought.. aLL those oiL wiLL burn off n exit thru ur exhaust.

u can check out the 3 shops at kaLLang ave. sunrise eurobike.. taihin n future scootering.. they shouLd be abLe to get ur box fixed. check out the advertisers board for their address.

weLcome to the auto scoot worLd.
