recently wrapped a 2 stroker..a krr 150 with exhaust wrap...

and the result??

if you can hear it coming...but it does not sound like your normal krr...what a racket..

what is "wrap exhaust" ?

actually, i have heard many "loud" bikes from far, turn & look & usually the "racket" is from a cub or small 4-stroke bike. :(

IT IS NOT THE BIKE, some 2-stroke or class 2 bikes can be "quiet" too if they were using stock, any bike will be loud with loud MODIFICATIONS. Some big class 2 cruisers also like to mod, become even louder than stock.

i think most stock bikes are not loud ( probably due to the fact that only bikes with "quiet" exhaust pass LTA's approval to import to sg )

so all the "racket" is caused by owners who like to change their exhaust, don't blame the bike. all LTA approved stock bikes are "quiet", BLAME THE OWNERS.

some people on the forum here even claimed that the "racket" made their bikes safer?!?! even if i get hatred or flaming from these people, i TOTALLY DISAGREE as it makes the general public who are non-bikers hate us bikers even more, increasing their prejudice against us. BAD PR tactic. :(

i know many people love their bikes, i also love my bike but...u get the idea. :)

exhaust wrap..exhaust heat wrap...

the low cost mod...that will increase the exhaust sound level..at a lower requency too...ie louder and lower runble..

but the most important is the increase in power...

the rider who wrapped it reported a shiok ride at higher speed..cmpared to normal..

i love my ezzyoiler

Hi bros...guess i will be ot a lil..or rather quite alot...got some questions to ask..

Situation

currently...by end of month i will have like 1k..part time job pay n other stuff...

i'm 18 this year... i guess my insurance will turn out to be 1300-1500 range cos new rider..been working at pizza hut as despatch for 3 weeks..

Friend told me wanted to sell kawa today..

pricing...$1k to him.$103 every month..left 15 months..$103 /mnth

So...if i pay him $1k i'm fine with it...but prob is...when i transfer over... i need to pay an extra $1300-$1500 for insurance (Which is where i've no finance alr)...thats where i'm stuck-ed alr...I was told by some other friends i got two choice...or rather 3...

Solutions...

1.Loan from shop ...shop pay him 1k...den shop will re-contract or rather start new contract with me.. like eg..

1000 + 15XX(15 mnths installement) + 1300-1500 Insurance.. total.. EG:3800

Den installement 2-3 years with new contract...

2.Save up 2k++ ..give him 1k...pay $1300-$1500 for insurance.. den cont installment...$103/mnth for 15 months.

3.Go to shop...Find a secondhand bike (means dun buy fro my friend)

Downpayment....then installment for 2-3 years..

Questions

Actually i didn't tot of even wanting to buy his bike.. my original personal idea was solution 3..

But lets say for solution 3...i go downpayment a bike and every month installment... i heard e downpayment itself can only downpayment for insurance ?

So let's say i want to dwn pay $1k...i cant (Got to down pay more)... cos in my case my insurance like $1300 above...

Means the downpayment price is the insurance price?

Need more info bout this!

AND i'm kinda stressed up cos i don't know which is best...go take loan and buy from him...or ownself go shop downpay and get own bike from shop?

But if i save up 2k++ and for solution 2...that would take too long....

Please!! Really need great advice from u experienced lao jiaos!! :( :( Stressed ttm....

FYI:Friend bike outlook 7 or 8/10..but interior like trustable...cos he e "lao jiao there and pro on bike engine n stuff"

I am sorry its v long..but thanks for taking out time to read and help out if u do! :)

think last year my friend 18 p plate bought kr down only 500 when his insurance was 1100. the rest of the money he topped up during his first 2 instaallment. simply to put machine 1200 insurance 1100. so he down 500 remaining 600 for insurance. for ecample his monthly installment for one year is 120. first 2 months he paid 200 more so 320. the 200 times 3 equals 600. the amount he owed for his insurance

not all shops do this though. only some

wat is exhaust wrap?

exhaust wrap as a heat barrier to keep the engine and driving compartments cool. It also keeps wires and hoses from melting under extreme conditions and controls heat in the exhaust system for a performance boost.

(copy and paste de.. lolx)

this is interesting, your idea very different from what i have heard from others here...please explain further...you got try before ? FC improves instead ? ( same rpm don't whack more & fc better but whack more, fc sinks? ) really interesting...:thumb:

anyway how is your ktm's fc ? i won't ask about power ( sure have power lah ) since it is 300cc, right?

PS: alvin & desmond, last time long long time ago, police "wear shorts". :p...wait...someone "paged" me, i must return call...:p

No offense, I agree with Infinity that your friend's bike seems expensive. She is asking the right questions before we can tell you if its worth it. $2545 is like more ex than my FZ plate krr (which i got last year) with coe until late 2015 which I got from the shop lor.

hi everybody.. long time no see all of u.. so many new forumers here..

btw i read from a few pages back that there is a discussion about riders rite of passage and upgrading to 1000cc and i decided to share my point of view.. just sharing.. not attacking or anything..

i feel that whether a person wants to upgrade to a bigger bike or not is up to the individual.. of cos the individual will do his own assessment as to whether can he afford and what are the liabilities if he or she is really to come out with a bigger bike..

as for me.. i would say that riding an R1 is my dream long time back and i just tell myself that i want to achieve that dream.. probably im just a stubborn person.. but then again i did assessed on my financial status and other factors such as whether is it practical and economical.. i would not deny that the maintenance part is heavier than smaller bike.. but to me i can afford it and that its worth it because riding r1 is really a total new experience and im still enjoying the bike like i just bought it over.(maybe those who had ride 1k cc bike before will feel it too and share the same opinion as me).. as for from big bike downgrade to small bike.. for me i dont think i will do that.. i will ride my r1 and on top of that get another small bike as side bike(currently looking out for 125z.. im interested.. hahah).. probably 5years down the road then i will sell away all my bike to get a car..

anyway like i said.. its up to individual and i have no rights to comment on anyone.. just want to share my feel of getting my r1 here..

and lastly everything aside.. ALL THE LAOJIAOS! really long long long time no see.. what are u all busy with?? come out leh! i steady i ride my kr come meet u all.. ahaha..

07 May 2004 Original date, that means 7th May 2014 - 2011 Aug= 2 years 9 months ( 33 months), not very worth it.

reason? COE increased = If you buying at 2545 total / 33 = $77.1212xxxx ~ $78

I brought my bike estimated 3 years ago.. that means I have around 4 years of riding.. it's around 2k that time.. *machine price.

You lost out pretty much.. Of cuz.. My bike's condition isn't as good that time compared to now.. :p

Don't worry, don't buy your friend's bike bah.. he can choose to keep if he wan, just go any bike shop and buy lor.. Just post online here where u going, see any old birds willing to go anot.. :)

For myself, I cannot confirm yes or not. depending on location and time/date.. :)

I'll go if I can...

i feel that whether a person wants to upgrade to a bigger bike or not is up to the individual.. of cos the individual will do his own assessment as to whether can he afford and what are the liabilities if he or she is really to come out with a bigger bike..

as for me.. i would say that riding an R1 is my dream long time back and i just tell myself that i want to achieve that dream.. probably im just a stubborn person.. but then again i did assessed on my financial status and other factors such as whether is it practical and economical.. i would not deny that the maintenance part is heavier than smaller bike.. but to me i can afford it and that its worth it because riding r1 is really a total new experience and im still enjoying the bike like i just bought it over.(maybe those who had ride 1k cc bike before will feel it too and share the same opinion as me).. as for from big bike downgrade to small bike.. for me i dont think i will do that.. i will ride my r1 and on top of that get another small bike as side bike(currently looking out for 125z.. im interested.. hahah).. probably 5years down the road then i will sell away all my bike to get a car..

anyway like i said.. its up to individual and i have no rights to comment on anyone.. just want to share my feel of getting my r1 here..

and lastly everything aside.. ALL THE LAOJIAOS! really long long long time no see.. what are u all busy with?? come out leh! i steady i ride my kr come meet u all.. ahaha..
