Guyz, Ive been studying and asking alot abt what happens if piston jam and I still dont quite get it.

So dear KRRans,

-What happens if my piston jam. Engine totally dead ?

-What if it jams WHEN im riding. Will the engine suddenly off and the tyres ebrake allow me to do a somersault with my bike?

-How do I prevent Piston Jam. Proper gear shifting? any good 2Ts/Oils/Lubricants which will help?

-Piston jam = GG?

i am NOT boasting here but just to share my 2 cents ( at your own judgement to believe me or not )...

anytime while riding, should you face any problems with anything...make sure it is SAFE first & CLOSE the throttle. Get to side of the road ( with safety considerations ).

eg. If you hear your engine sounds funny, power seem to be fading or anything suspicious at all...DON'T FORCE. DON"T PUSH ANY FURTHER...close the throttle ( after checking out your surroundings ).

You will save a lot of $$$ & pain these way.

I once run out of 2t on my previous bike ( not kr )...the power is missing & engine sounds funny, i closed throttle & coasted / pushed safely to the side of road. After checking, i found i had only run out of 2t, so i got the 2t back in & it went fine afterwards.

once on my kr...i experienced the same loss of power, i did the same thing & found out i had run out of petrol. switch to reserve tank, everything works fine again. :)

this is only from my own experience compared to others who had to spend $$$ fixing all sorts of problems. If you sense something, stop at once ( after safety first of course ). Don't go & force the thing & make it worse...

try to find out the problem first. if still puzzled, get help. By not making the problem worse, you can save yourself from pain ( accidents ) & save a lot of $$$ from NOT making the problem harder to fix later.

Thanks & Best Regards.

Soli no cure.. Full tank with 2t pls

=x

haha. like that earn one full tank liao lor. haha.

i am just going to say something irrelevant to the topic above, i want to take this opportunity to clarify with wayliang.

wayliang, a few months ago you mentioned about BT39's recommended tyre pressure is 41 psi ( 280 ), which is correct. However, after my own testing...

1) 41 psi (280) in my humble opinion should be the MINIMUM AT ALL TIMES, at least in sg.

2) there is no danger of explosion unless you are really that super-fast for extended periods ( maybe above 160km/hr for a very long time ). tested up till 45 psi ( hard ride ) / 47 ( not recomended unless you got a very strong back & butt :p )with no problems at all.

3) i apologise for my ignorant mistake for recommending lower pressure than 41psi. i was "brainwashed" by "blindly following" wrong advice given out by others. after testing it out personally...

i now use 43 psi (300) for both front & rear, wet or dry on sg roads. i discovered that slowing down quickly, both FRONT & REAR braking, MOST IMPORTANTLY emergency braking even under acceleration WORKS PERFECTLY. there is also additional stability against crosswinds ( both natural & from huge vehicles ) & also when cornering.

the bike's brakes, suspension & steering ( only need to change my riding style to fit the bike ) & EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY.

4) when i use lower tyre pressure ( anything lower than 41 ) previously, i could u-turn easily but i sacrificed a lot with problems with scary braking, occasional rear skidding under emergency, instability when high up & windy, vibration on hard braking & wobbles when sharp cornering. many other problems follow...got fed up...pump up to above 41, adapt my steering style & all problems disappeared...:)

5) if anyone finds the ride at 43psi (300) ~ 45 uncomfortable, at least bare minimum use 41psi(280). DON'T FOOL AROUND WITH SAFETY.

6) i only said all these things because i sincerely believed in all these "crap". I felt i need to be responsible for giving out wrong advice earlier regarding this issue & putting others in danger. i was wrong as i had followed this wrong "advice" myself from other "smart-a****"

7) i will not bother to argue any further if anyone disagrees. Everyone is responsible for their own safety. it is ultimately your choice to believe me or not. of course i could be "wrong" again. who cares? it is your life not mine. :p

anyway all i intended was to clear my conscience from my previous blunder. :)

PS: the above recommendation is ONLY for BT-39 tyres & safe riding ( only my opinion ) on sg roads. It does not apply to anyone trying to be "fast" at winning duels or at any tracks ( Johor / Sepang ). PEACE.

did i said anything about that? lol. sorry. i dont remember. but i remember using 280kpa for rear.

different rider different weight different comfort tire pressure. thats wat i was told :)

haha.. individual preferences plus weight and etc.. u and I have box.. so we normally put higher PSI.. as our weight of the full loading box/rack is one person liaoz.. so my preferences would be, same as you.. PSI 41 for back as my tyre is 110/70.. front is PSI 35 90/80..

I would stick back this no matter what as the tyre did stated Max PSI 35 and PSI 41.. they have their reasons.. heat expand, cold contract.. so mostly the "remaining" extra PSI is for expand and contract.. :)

Just my thoughts.. no flame wor.. :)

Like what wayliang mentioned..

Either

1) Valve jam.. Or

2) Open your throttle abit more to hit 7.5~8.. den you will get what I mean.. :p

I was once like you guys.. change at 7.. den once in a blue moon people play.. den valve jam.. until now.. fare up already.. just open daily once will do.. :)
