now all places very expensive. all the motortiams say it is because the local supplier keep increasing prices or claim "no stock" or "everything in Japan increase lah, u know? " ( ie. unlikely when japan economy is doing badly now with prices there very low, besides the rubber comes from Malaysia / Indonesia ).

prices have increased from around $170 a pair this time last year to around $230 or maybe even more ( an amazing $60 or more than 33% increase in 1 year!!! ). prices have increased from $170/pair to $190, then to $200, then to $210 ( during my recent change ), then to $230 ( just 2 weeks after my change!!! ) & then maybe to even higher in the future they "warned".

sorry, but to me this is getting out of hand. the buck stops here.

either the local distributor is getting greedy ( to be fair to them, unlikely for them to have a behaviour change in 1 year unless they have a sudden change of management ) or somebody(s) are stocking up, increasing demand & inflating prices ( like in the stock market ).

i think it is time to stop all these b***s*** & start "voting" with our wallets. i am now considering trying other alternatives. if prices do not fall soon, i will switch. even my mech support my decision as even he is fed up with forever being "held ransom" by supplier. when demand falls, maybe "they will start to wake up & listen" like a certain 60% party ( i think they would have been even more urgent & 'sincere' in changing their ways if they only had 50% :p )

if we continue to give in & give "blind" loyalty support, it will only fuel more "greed" & increase prices & "excuses" further or further enrich "speculators" ( if they are any, i may be wrong on this, this is only a hunch ).

you can of course ignore my "advice". it is your money, not mine. my money i value. thanks. :)

Lol.. I would say, depends on individual pockets and requirement..

Some look at safety and cornering more, but some looks at their own pocket more.. :)

I personally witness a uncle 50s.. riding a RXK, he was just pushing his bike on a wet floor and his bike just "slip" down.. definitely not that he has no strength but his tires just lost grip of the floor.. I offer to help but he say no need, he push up himself and i saw the tire is still with alot of threads.. that's when I determine that, either get a good one or you dun mind your outlook of your bike.. :)

alot of 1st time riders of KR change their stock tire, why? They claim to use up to 2~3 years but the thread is still there.. haha.. but of cuz, not recommended to ride during rainy days.. :)

No flaming intended but again. it all boils down to our own requirement of our bike..

If my bike is purely for transport and I dun care about it's outlook or even if drop, I wun heart pain, I dun mind getting a normal or low priced tire.. BUT.. I once drop tear when my bike fairing crack due to my bike trying to protect my fall.. my misjudge...

and again.. your choice and requirement.. :p

u can try tzm carb which is 30mm, stock being 28. or get a pwk series carb. ranging from 28 to 39. but pwk 28 is gd enough from racing and on your consumption. if u buy from shop they will tune but if from people then u bring shop tune loh. most shops do it

tzm carbs usually can get from garage sales. pwk also can but new ones u can get either online or at chong aik at rowell road

I was told by my friend that I need to change the bracket. Asked a few shop in jb and they do not have it...

Agreed. I remember when I could get these tyres for $140 a pair and it was not more than 5 years ago.

Pardon me. Cannot judge tyres that way only. Do take a look at the production date. Lots of thread but the production date could be more than 2 years ago. Unless you claim you saw the production date of the uncle's tyres too at that moment then I guess you have super vision.

You would have to custom make a bracket for it then.
