I did a very conservative run-in.

0-800km - >80kph, >5500rpm

0-1600km - >100kph, >7000rpm

For the first 800km, I was going too slow to feel any power at all.

After the oil change at 800km, I still didn't try to open valve at all. :faint:

wah...sianz

tdy took my bike for top servicing

piston also chao tar

managed to kio back the piston for memory sake

:cheeky:

anyway set off frm home to JB ah boy at 2.30pm reached there ard 3+ where they started working on my bike

reached home ard 7+pm

pretty fast job already i guess

spent RM$275 for top service (cleaning of valve, carburettor & engine block, change coolant + engine oil + spark plug & relevant gaskets) + new original piston + polish block)

mech did some tuning of carb for me and now my bike exhaust noisier than before + power not too consistent as compared to before :giddy:

In top gear

-------------

4500rpm - 80km/h

5500rpm - 100km/h

6500rpm - 120km/h

+/- 50-100rpm for parallax error. :cheeky:

mine is ard 100kmph in top gear at 5K RPM

Carbon buildup on pistons are normal. Usually a good scrub will get it clean.

:giddy: Block Polish???!!! :giddy: Is that the one where they use a drill and enlarge the holes in your engine block cylinder?

0 - 1000km ---------- 80km/h

1000km - 2000km -- 100km/h

apprently, i heard many technics to run in pistons. and wat is the motoman method??

hey guys, when i usually ride....the idling always stays at 1.25 - 1.75 and nvr exceeds. for the last few days, my bike has been hitting 2 - 2.25 and the temp has gone up when i stop at traffic light junctions or idling. pls advise.

my bike is always slow. seems that is hard to pick up speed.

Sometimes it's wiser to look at the whole picture & not only focus on price. Let's see what Don has to say about Ah boy's "famous" engine polish first.

Secondly, if your piston does not need to replace, why even replace it?

Rev 1 time won't jam your piston one la, it's not that fragile!

Did you just start your engine then it died off? Or did you leave your choke on while riding? That lesson cost me $30.

Try to warm up your bike then adjust your idling screw. Maybe someone go disturb your bike? Check your coolant while you're at it.

If that JB Ah Boy that Don was referring to is the one beside BP petrol station (Opposite a huge police complex), that's the one that uses a hand drill and I've seen it with my very own eyes, much to my amazement & :nono: :nono: :nono: .

I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot.......

After telling you people so many times about Racewerks $90 package, I just realised that under Advertiser's Board, there is a column for Racewerks & they specifically mentioned what is included for the $90 package. For those who didn't bother trying to find out, now repeat after me "I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot....."

We should look at bike servicing with a "Whichever comes first" principle. Lets look at an extreme example. If your bike done only 500km and you store it in a garage for the next 5 years. Does that mean you do not replace the oils, petrol because you had only covered 500km?

My advice? Simple... include me as your sub rider, go for your NS with full focus, knowing that I will take care of your bike while you're doing duty, honour & country!
