Hi all. i did like to ask your opinion in 2A bike. I need a 2A for a lil more extra power. increase in speed. been riding at 80km/h - 90km/h in phantom is not something very enjoyable. And a nice looking bike.

I am into roadbike/cruisers so scramblers and sportsbike are out. So i will need your opinion.

I like S4, suzuki bandit 400, Suzuki GSR 400, Honda steed 400, Honda Shadow 400. and really do not know which is a good bike to last for some years like 5 - 10 years. as i am gonna get it brand new. I would need your 2 cents.

Thanks all

Used to ride: TA200 -02, WR 200DT -94, VXR 200 -04, CB400 Spec 2 -02, GSXR400RN -92, CB 400 Spec 3 -04, VLX 400 -94, DRZ400SM -06, FZ6 S2 -09

Current bikes : YZF R1 -08

S4 will last. Bandit 4 no longer in production. GSR400 probsbly not bad also, rather new in the market. Steed 4 seems to be out of production. Shadow 4 still in production but not sure if you can find a new one.

Try browsing the Jap maker website and you will find more choices. Then ask those big motorshops see if they going to bring in.

If you are buying for long term, why not aim a class 2 bike instead?

i got a cheap steed400 right after my 2a because i know i am getting a class 2 in 12 months time.

but right now i am thinking of keeping my steed400 because i am way too happy with it. So i am getting my third bike in about 6months time...

moral is do u need to get a class 2 soon? or just stick with 2a for the next few years??:cheeky:

Take your class 2 when you got the spare time and money and energy. Class 2 is the luxury bike class :cheeky:

For me I just take class 2 for fun.

CB400 aka S4!!! I love this bike, reliable, smooth etc! Its actually how u maintain a bike imo... without proper maintenance, reliable bike also will breakdown.

how about honda silver wing 400?

very smooth in-line twin, automatic CVT, stable n aerodynamic design, windshield protection for comfort n keep clothes clean, floor board keeps feet/shoes dry on wet ground, etc. n best of all, it has a huge 55L belly to keep all your barang barangs. want more? fit a e45 top box on its tail fin (no need bracket) and u have 100L :p i put all my tennis gears including 2 rackets inside my SW on my tennis days, helmets in the top box :thumb:

of course got downside lah... its about 245kg n 2.75m long. much heavier than the 195kg n 2.04m long CB400 aka S4. becoz of its length, it can't wriggle around traffic jams as well as the road bikes n parking is sometimes a hassle especially at congested lots. i ever park at clementi central cp near Mac and had problem getting out of the inner lot :(

get the super4 with the 3 three boxes, very ugly but that is what i see ppl do.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

anyway, also very little diff la. ^^

n say, next time gian class2 bike and budget can allow, also not that difficult to sell la. thats my plan at least.

U wont go wrong with Super4 Boldor, the one with the half fairing. Got ABS even better.

The parts are easily available, but I didnt say very cheap, mind. :)

But 17K?!

I got a litre bike, but sometimes wonder why the hell I bought it as I dun go touring. :\

S4 is a good choice.
