has anyone changed out the stock spring on the rear shocks? I find it very very stiff for my weight, but I was told by a workshop only the ohlins shocks can be re-sprung to suit weight, the stock ones can't.

The rear springs barely even move when I sit on the bike and I get thrown off my seat very often! :(

wat bike u riding bro..? if ur stock can be adjusted, perhaps u can try to reduce the compressions..

The correct way to do it is to get the correct spring weight. Adjusting Compression and rebound can only help if your spring rate is not far off.

Items for sale

Ohlins rear shock spring 7.5 kg(mint)

Showa Fork w lower triple(used)

Stock FULL fairing 998s(used) w MS Prod Carbon Street Belly-pan

MS prod Carbon 998R tail fairing (used-DP#96938402B)

Bestem carbon belt (testastretta engine)

Ducati Corsa Screen-fabbri (new)

Oil Cooler (mint-#548.039.1A)

More parts than I can list here (mostly for 916 series)

im on a 848, even by adjusting rebound/compression the bike wld still be stiff thanks to the spring... once i get that changed out i can play with the confi to get proper sag :)

Did u check the preload rings in the first place?? Comp/rebound adjusters only helps in fine tuning a rider's way of riding. You got to set ur preload first before playing with those adjusters.

yes, adjusted the rings and there's not much thread left showing, so I assume its on the very soft side? but still feels stiff! I havent adjusted the other settings as I dont think those will help soften the spring stiffness.

from what ive read the stock springs are meant for someone much heavier. im not looking for a more comfortable ride, just a more confident one. Ill check with bikelab if they can swap out the springs.. mucchhh cheaper than buying ohlins!

Ducati Street Fighter owners!

My story: i just bought one today and the bike will not be ridden until i

have all my after market parts fitted on it so basically i would like to

sell the following parts that are on it

as i do not really like the stuffs that comes with the S model

and hence have already bought some of after market accessories to replace it.

Ducati Streetfighter S ( 1098 should be the same? ) Carbon Fiber timing belt covers.

1 whole set going for $400.

Ducati Streetfighter S / 1098 Forged wheels.

1 pair going for 2k + top up your base OEM wheel.

Ducati Streetfighter S Original Paint ( Tank, Front Fender and etc..the whole paint fairing ) - RED.

would like to trade it off for a Black one.

no top up required just share the labor cost for swapping it.

Basically the bike is in the process of being registered and it's still at

Minerva processing, so if you have any doubts and would like to

see the condition, kindly drop by minerva as it's the last

streetfighter S left in SG and it had just been bought by me

hence all the parts are as good as new.

interested parties kindly contact me at

9272-9088 Fred

and yes, i am looking forward to meet up with you guys soon =D

It's not about the power or speed or how fast your ride goes but the time & effort spent to achieve something different

My Toys:

Harley XR1200

CB400-V-tec III (served me well )

Streetfighter S ( never felt better! )
