Eh guys, was riding in a big rain today, was having a hard time to see. When suddenly tis car infront of me brake suddenly, in order to stay safe behind him, i jam my front brake too, was coming to a stop, where suddenely my front wheel kind of lock and going to skid, but cause i travelling slow manage to use my leg to support the bike from falling down hard, so it's like a slow fall to the right. AFter picking it up, everythings seems fine jus that the front brake seems to be not working well, i could pull e lever all e way in easily, and the braking effect seems kind of dull, it's like only brake abit nia..anyway im currently staying at the west and study in woodland RP, any1 could suggest any motordiam i could visit to solvee this problem. thanks =) and I HATE RIDING IN THE RAIN ZZZZ

aiyo... good that you aren't injured... (I hope...)

well, you would need to bleed your brakes. when the bike is lying on its side, air would enter the brake hoses. so, when you pull the lever to brake, instead if forcing brake fluid compressing the brake pistons, you are compressing the air inside the brake hoses instead... your lever probably feels spongy to pull as well...

I believe any motordiam would be able to bleed your brakes (front and rear) for you

ride safely yea...? especially in adverse conditions

hmmm I suggest you should let a trusted mechanic to have a look at your bike soon... your wheel bearings might be damaged...

Changed my EO around 1,000 KM ago and the level at the dipstick is less than a quarter. Is my TA200's engine failing? FW plate.

clean the exterior of your engine (thoroughly please), then observe any oil leakage for the next few days... and post your findings here :thirsty:

glad u r alright... it might be normal to have difficulties with front brake in the rain, esp heavy ones... coz i have the same problem too, try to ride with xtra caution in the rain, do not stay behind any other vehicles at ALL TIMES... i had experience with a car doing a wide U turn in a heavy rain, i knew i couldn't brake in time so i dodged (lucky no skid) so nvr ever speed even if its a clear traffic in heavy rain

Hi, I get this feeling I'm going to get all kinds of technicalities thrown my way for asking this but I'll take my chances anyways.

So what kind of suspension settings would you go for so that you can take corners better?

set it to stiffer...and see how...

come to the clinic meet this afernoon..bbq too in the evening....many experieced phantom riders coming..tap their experiences..

look like ...as long as it did not dissappear below the minimum level.. by 2000 km ..normal

but then it is best to give it a thorough check the next service with your fav mech..

  • 3 weeks later...

Question. I think my rear suspension is too soft. It's set at the stiffest setting but each time I go over a hard bump, I start bouncing. Plus, at high speeds, I think the rear wheel comes into contact with the fender every once in awhile.

Which leads me to my question, is this normal or is it time for a new set of rear suspension? Or is it that the suspension is old? Hence, lacking in performance?

thats a sure sign that the suspension needs to be replaced..

a harder suspension can react faster than a soft one..thus making corners manageable at higher speed.

by now you may have experience what a soft suspension does...you may find yourself running out of road during a fast corner..take care..

Wah, say until like that siaaaaahh.

But anyways, how much would a replacement cost?

lol this is true hard fact about a failing suspension...it'll change your riding geometry by very big degrees...thats y if your not able to compensate for it thru your riding style, chances of accidents happening is there, when u run wide...

anyway buy a stock suspension is good enuff around 200+ per pair think, or get a aftermarket one like YSS which is highly recommended...

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

it automatically tensions ur cam chain (which drives ur cams) when ur engine speed varies.. to keep the chain at the right tension all the time.. however, over time, the spring inside it starts to jam and this makes the tensioner stiff, and thus can't push onto the cam chain and control the tension.. the ticking sound u hear is the loose cam chain... if ur cam chain gives way, that is where almost everything in ur engine goes kaput, like bent valves... gonna be real expensive..

dats wat i knw from vehicles i work on.. i assume its d same principle.. hope any laojiaos will correct me whr i am wrong..
