Does anyone feel very giddy or heaty when using this.

When I take passengers in my car, they tell me they feel like vomiting, especailly if I travel a long distance in the tunnel.

And it is so hot inside, when riding, I feel sleepy. I would hate to use that tunnel when there is a jam inside.

I avoid that P.O.S. tunnel at all cost, be it jammed or otherwise.

Oily road surface, lack of ventilation, hot/humid and dank air, ultimately stupid 70kph speed limit.

Wow!

Deja vu!

Saw this thread and remembered the last (and really the last time ever) I used that tunnel.

Was with my riding buddies and decided to take this tunnel as a shortcut to avoid the ERP at CTE towards AMK (we were from KKFC going to Yishun Dam).

The whole stretch from the Kallang Entrance all the way to the Tampines exit, I remembered my GSR radiator temperature hitting 99 deg C all the way.

Even in jams, never had my temp stayed at that temp all the way. Even with radiator fans on, the slow 70 km/h and the lack of any cool air really drove the temp up.

I was worried about any engine damage but nothing I could do till I exit the tunnel.

No more, I say.

its very hot and stuffy in there and makes riders like me feel sleepy so extra care is needed when i use that tunnel.

i can't avoid it cos its e shortest route to punggol from city hall and i send my gf home thru that route many times a week.

Gotta look at it like u in "prison" and there's "light and freedom" at the end of the tunnel... hhahahaha... Been in there several times. All i can say is NEVER use it during peak hours. Its a disaster waiting to happen. Riding a GSR600 as well. Once it was so jam packed with cars and so stuffy i jus exited the 1st exit i saw. Hahahaha.. I rather get lost above ground then stay down there till punggol.

maybe increasing the speed limit might make it cooler??

eh alamak dun like that leh. i use it everyday. Its only hot la. I find 70 for the tunnel is ok cos you knw la garment put 70 sure got ppl go 80 so if put 90 sure got ppl go 100 which will make it very dangerous.

I take KPE quite often, it's a great short cut to reach city within 15mins from punggol.

Well if you know where the cameras are, 100km/hr is no problem. :)

The road so bumpy... not comfortable to go fast... somemore feel so laggy due to the damp & warm air... dangerous sia...

Always be Alert & stay Focused when riding. :)

No doubt its stuffy and humid but its really a great shortcut from punggol to town area. Use it almost a few times everyday.

Maybe i'm a frequent user so it doesnt really bother me plus i'm ridding a small bike. =)

Still, it would be great if they could increase the limit to 90km/h like other eways.

Actually KPE got less kuku drivers. Cos its a expressway and everyone going speed limit. so its ok. And its not really that hot la. Well it is hot but you will get used to it. Anyway very fast will reach the exit.

the follow of traffic for KPE is slightly faster compared to months ago. most of the cars drove at ard 75km/h. but most will b safe at 80km/h constant. knowing the speed cams location is critical for travelling in KPE. same as for other expressways.

Yes ... The freaking oil was dripping from the sump of some overhead ventilation fan, all over my bike and helmet! :giddy:

A skid hazard as that machine oil sticks to tyres ...

Not surprising. That same oil exists in the CTE tunnel.

its unfortunate that i have to use it every weekday to work; like you guys said, its hot, stuffy, bumpy, oily, etc. :sian:

i'm ok with the 70 km/h speed limit, many parts of new south wales (in australia) has speed cams with 60km/h limit.

kenna once on new years eve, double demerit points... half the license gone so was very stressed when going out on holis and eves after that :faint:
